I love my Kit! She is so cute! She hasn't stopped asking for clothes since she came home, but she's very happy to be the center of attention right now!

I just got my Kit in the mail from agundone (thanks so much!).
I must say, I absolutely adore her. The pictures in the catalog and on the website do not do her justice. She is much more adorable in person.
This is my first Mattel doll, so I now understand the bit about the harder vinyl, plasticy eyelashes and more facepaint! I am not sure if this is common, but when I laid her down facedown to fix her clothes, her eyelash "fell in" a bit, and I had to repull it out carefully using tweezers.
Also, she does not seem taller than my other dolls?
Otherwise, I just love her and cannot wait until my accessories and school outfit come in the mail from AG.
Will post pics later!

I only have one Kit, but since no one with 2 Kits has been able to compare them, I will try. I have a Kit from the first year she was released, and a more recent Mattel #24. They have the same freckles and close hair color, so I thought seeing them together might help show the differences in face shape. Kit's face is much rounder than Kelsey's. She is always looking downward in comparison to my newer Mattel dolls, like the PM dolls seem to be. To further illustrate that point, this was taken on eye level with Kelsey: Kit is awesome and I love her, even if she does always stare at the ground

Not sure if she's the first edition, but my canon Kit is definitely a little chubbier than my time-traveling Kit. love them both!! Attachments:

Kit was my first doll and will always be my favourite. She is so adorable. I love her freckles. Personally I think she is the best american girl doll yet. Her hair never gets messy. It only did once but that was the year I got her (2003) and she was pre mattel My favorite feature is her freckles. There just so detailed. And her eyes are the most fascinating shade of blue. She is a great choice for a younger girl or new comer. I highly recommend her.

Kit is adorable. She has such a sweet face. I got my Kit in 2007, but she is an older Kit. Kit's hair is so easy to care for. Her bob hairstyle is so cute. It's not long enough to do many hairstyles with, but you can put it back in tiny pigtails. Kit's eyes are a deeper blue than the normal blue that Chrissa, McKenna, #33, Emily, etc. have. They are so pretty IRL, but I don't find them photogenic at all. Her meet has a lot of mix and match potential. The sweater, sweatershirt, shirt, and shoes are all very well made. The clip is okay, but can get lost easily. I give Kit an A. She's so sweet! Good job, AG!

Here's mine: I got her fairly recently from a friend, and she does seem 'swell enough for anyone new to AG. My biggest gripe's the sandals that fray at the ends, along with mine having the right shoe sole shoddily glued. That didn't keep my little Maggie from standing properly, as she can take hours standing proudly on her own. I'll give the doll an A, with the meet dress an A- as pointed out earlier.

Kit arrived here on August 1st and I couldn't be happier with her. Since there is a lot of photos and reviews already, I'm going to keep this short. I love Kit's short blond hair, blue eyes and freckles. Her meet outfit is one of my favourites of the historicals and I actually cannot take it off Kit because I love it on her too much. It's very timeless and I wouldn't mind wearing one myself. The only gripe I really have is about her barrette. It's as cheap-feeling as Rebecca's. (okay, maybe a bit better than her's but still, it could be improved.) I give her an A+ and highly recommend her to anyone looking to add her to their collection

I love Kit! Her outfits look very similar to some that my grandmother wore in the 30's. I love her freckles especially. Her bobbed hair.... absolute classic.

I am in love with my new Kit! My new Kit was purchased sometime in the first couple of months after her release. This is my first doll with freckles so I’m excited to have this difference. My only complaint is that the freckles are light and hard to make out from a distance and in some pictures. I love her shorter hair. I think it is an attractive feature for young girls who want easier hair to style or who wear their hair short as well. My Kit also has tight limbs and a firm body. I like Kit’s meet outfit. I think it looks accurate for a 1930’s look. I appreciate that the buttons on her sweater are actual buttons. The barrette is very flimsy. For what one pays for a doll I expect something of better quality. Overall I think Kit is simply adorable. She is worth every penny I paid. I am extremely happy to have her as part of my collection and cannot wait to spend more time with Kit! A+

I purchased Kit at the Columbus store this morning. I looked at about twenty different Kit dolls before I finally found "my" Kit. She is gorgeous. She gets an A+ from me! DSC05047a by sharayahlynn, on Flickr DSC05038 by sharayahlynn, on Flickr

Kit is only the second brand new doll I've purchased from AG myself, extra special because I bought her the day before my cousin's wedding in Columbus. It was my first ever trip to an AG store, and I was very excited to bring a doll home that I had chosen myself. I love Kit's meet story and despite being past the target age group, look forward to reading the rest of her series. Once home however, Kit just didn't...stand out. I had her on the shelf with Molly and Lanie, but felt rather meh about her. I think, cute as it is, it's her meet outfit. I tried a few different shirts with the skirt but just didn't like any of them. So I switched her into Lanie's meet dress since it matched and barrette, and BAM! More tomboyish looking, adorable Kit is now a permanent fixture in my apartment. I can't believe I ever considered returning her! Her meet outfit is very well made, with snaps in the back of the undersweater shirt and buttons on the front of the cardigan. Her skirt comes up high as was appropriate for her time, and her underwear are just...well, underwear. Her shoes have small buckles that look like they really function-but in fact it's just clever velcro placement. The doll herself has very short, soft blonde hair. It tends to get flyaways and I'm being very careful not to disturb her original style or barrette. I like her much, much better in Lanie's outfit.

Kit was my first American Girl doll, and now she is over twelve years old Even through the times where I wasn't collecting I always kept Kit because I never wanted to get rid of her, and I am glad I did! Kit's Meet Outfit is made to last, and it looks really cute on other AG dolls like Rebecca. I would give Kit an A+ rating, and her outfit an A. The only flaw with her outfit is the fact that I wish it would have more of a spark to it. Kit also looks amazing in light blues. I especially love her in Elizabeth's Tea Lesson Outfit! Below is a picture of her in Elizabeth's outfit without the lace cap and collar. Those items were replaced with the simple pearl necklace from Cécile's Special Dress and one bobby pin in her hair. This is a stunning look for Kit!

Such a cute doll! I've only had her a few weeks, and she grows on me everyday. Her hairstyle is very typical 1930s, but also works well for modern and surprisingly seems to look good in most historical clothing too. Her hair is quite short, which does limit what can be done, but its an interesting difference from most AG dolls with long hair. I often braid back a section or clip back a part with a barette. Small pigtails can be done too. Her eyes are dark blue, and the combination with the light hair is really nice. The freckles are adorable

My Kit is from 2005. I think she may be a transitional doll because she still has the lighter face paint, PC stamp, zip tie neck closure, and a more round face with softer looking eyes. I love her! Especially in comparison to the new Mattel Kit that I've seen in store - their wigs are flat, lifeless, and cheap looking compared to my Kit's.
It's also really obvious when she's put next to my Mattel Molly. Kit's face looks so much larger! She's also taller as well. Not sure if this is just a normal difference between Kit and Molly or if it was a change across editions of Kit.

Kit is a gorgeous doll. We preordered her the minute she was out so she is one of the first ones. My daughter's Kit is very rosy with beautiful coloring although lighter than the newer ones . I think it depends on the doll. She was the first Mattel purchase having bought new P C Kirsten, Felicity and Samantha before. Even my Samantha has more rosy coloring and lip paint than another Samantha I've seen from the exact same year.

I can believe I never reviewed Kit. Kit is my daughter's doll. After the PC girls Kit was so cute with her short hair and sweet freckles. She has so much personality and is so sweet.
