Christmas Outfit $22 QCO
This set includes Kit's Christmas dress, stocking, hairbow, scottie pin and shoes.
I positively love this outfit! Kit looks remarkably good in red.I am a bit concerned because I did hear from a good source that is is possible this dress could stain the vinyl on your doll. Yikes! I guess that is a risk we take with any outfit.
On to the dress... The dress is made from a fabric that has a nice texture and just a little shine to it. It is very festive and pretty. I love the collar.I love the way the dress hangs.I love everything about this one.
I never have been very fond of gigantic bows on my dolls heads, but this bow is really a nice addition to the Christmas outfit.
The white stockings are a must have for this outfit, it just would not look right with anything else. The black t-strap shoes are really pretty. They go with this dress really well.
The scottie pin, while adorable, is actuall a magnet, and not a pin. The back is very, very tiny and I fear it could become lost very easily.
A+ for a very pretty little dress.

Kit's Christmas Outfit is made from polyester. That's a very good reason why the Scotty Dog pin is actually a magnet - if you put holes through the polyester, they're there for good. Plus, sharp pointy things aren't very nice for kids. Or for me.
I actually doubted the CS woman who told me the dress is polyester when I called to ask about items with wool! I thought "no way, it looks like a nice thick cotton." Well, it is. I was very disappointed in the texture and feel when I got it today (nice eBay buy - only $10).
Currently, the dress is on a Laura Ashley doll I picked up at the Salvation Army the other day, and it doesn't fit her quite right, so I'm going to wait until I get it on an actual AG before I make a final decision. As it is, I think I'm going to duplicate it in a soft cotton and send the polyester to someone who wants it more.
The hair ribbon came attached to a barrette, which was nice. I'm not sure if that's because of my seller, or if it's from AG, but it definitely keeps the bow looking fresh!
I was really surprised by this outfit. I received it as a gift this past spring, but due to moving, I didn't open it until last month. I didn't realize it came with the Mary Janes! I don't really mind the fabric. I loved Annie as a child and still collect memorabilia. This dress reminds me alot of Annie's dress.
The Scottie pin worries me. I didn't know it was gong to be a magnet, which makes sense as not to leave holes. But I'm very afraid I'll lose it.
I love this outfit. Kit wears it all the time, and loves it. The barrette is attached to the hair bow, so it always stays in the perfect bow. However, I find it very hard to position the bow properly, it always goes in Kit's face. I love the shoes and stockings, and that makes up for what is lost by the hairbow. I give it a A+
I actually think making the Scottie dog into a magnet was a good idea. A pin would put holes in the fabric and would not be practical for AG's target age range. I like the bow, as well as the shoes and stockings. It seems like a good deal for the price. The dress itself is okay. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. B+
I sewed on my scottie pin by simple basting around neck and hind. It positioned the collar properly. I actually wish Kit had a Scottish Terrier as they were so popular during the 1930's and later becasue of FDR's dog Fala, but he had his dog in the 30's. Of course partial becasue I have owned these dogs my whole life. I spend lots of time buying the pins and sewing them on for the Mom's I know....I care more than they do I think. But really sewing works perfectly and keeps the collar more perky and rounded rather than just flat.

This dress is lovely! I'm not the biggest fan of polyester, but it's a pretty design and fits Kit well (and PM dolls, too), so I'm happy. I love all of the little extras that come with the dress, too--you really get a lot for your money. There are stockings....that snag horribly...cute shoes with real snaps...a bow...and the scottie dog pin. The pin is easily lost, but I keep mine in Kit's purse when she's not wearing it.
Sadly, I cannot always get the bow to look like it does in AG photography...
The dress - I don't mind the evidently polyester fabric at all. It seems really vintage, and is nice and heavy with a good texture. It is sewn to fit and drape really well, the skirt is swirly and pretty without being too feminine. The belt is attached and the buckle is "Bakelite", lol. I also like the contrast of the bright white, angular collar. I'm sure it's better for children but I wish the Scottie pin were still actually a PIN, so it could go with other outfits. A very nice dress, A
The stockings - yes, these are stocking not tights, and go all the way up Kit's legs. They seem to be knit in a fishnet-type pattern, the same kind as Sam's lawn party socks. They also have a seam running up the back. They are awfully thin though, and seem like they could snag. A-
The shoes - shiny patent little numbers, very cute and I believe identical to Emily's meet shoes. As of 2007, they velcro, but I don't mind because that doesn't look bad. They won't really go with Kit's other dresses but they look nice with this outfit. A
The hairbow - The hairbow is permanently tied and attached to a barrette, which is a good idea but it is still hard to position it so it looks right in Kit's hair. It is really big, and make Kit's big head+hair look even bigger! A-

I got this outfit in August. Mine has the stitched-on Scottie dog pin which is how they're currently made. I think the fabric is a little odd but it doesn't really bother me either. It's a pretty red with a crisp white collar. The hairbow is polkadot and the stockings and shoes are a nice touch. I think it's a vintage look and looks great on Kit.

I really like this dress a lot! I love how all of the little accessories compliment it so well! I a very glad that our scotty dog pin is sewn on - that one less thing I have to worry about losing.
I have two complaints about my set... First, the stockings are so tight that they are really hard to get on and off. Second, the straps on the shoes are too short, I can just barely get them fastened - which means that the prickly side of the velcro is exposed to the stockings, so we need to be extra careful.
I love the dress - it's so pretty! I love the stockings and the shoes too, but I have to give the set an A-. The pin had trouble staying attached and the clip messed up Kit's hair, so I just don't use those two items. Still worth getting though - I just love the dress. Kit in the dress:

My daughter received this dress in Dec 2011. It was her #37 dolls dress for Christmas Eve. I personally like the material and it lays very nice on her doll. The stockings are easy for my daughter to het on and off (she has Aspergers and hand coordination issues). The shoes are shiny and the strap on hers are long enough. The only thing we dont like is the bow..its big, big, big and just looks odd on #37s head. Ours is not a clip but a pony tail holder. Kind of annoying to put on and get it to set right.
Overall we give the dress an A. Hairbow a C. Shoes an A. Stockings an A-

I have the current version with the stitched on scottie dog pin. This is my Nicki's Christmas dress and it looks darling on her. I don't mind the polyester fabric... it looks nice and feels nice enough. It doesn't wrinkle. The shoes are not my favorite style, though they are well made. And I adore the bow. Wendy is actually wearing it now a completely unrelated outfit. A-
