Kit’s Photography Set $20 QWAP
This set includes Charlie’s camera, camera case, and film photograph book, and photos, which are stickers to put in the album.
This set is good in theory. I do like it, for the most part.
Kit's camera is very cute, and seems very authentic, but it also seems a little fragile to me. For this reason, I would not recommend it for play. It scares me to open it. It feels like it will break when I open it, and again when I close it. It has never actually broken, it just feels like it could very easily.
The case is okay. It is made of a soft rubber like material. It is black, but the inside of the flap is painted red. It closes with a very weak magnet and does not stay closed well at all. I wish the magnet was stronger, or it had another way to close.
The little film box is great.
The photo album is very nice. The pages are black and ready for you to add photos. The included black and white photos are stickers. There is a little card with the photos that tells about each picture.
I gave this item a B because it is really cute, BUT I think it needs a little improvement. I would only recommend it to someone really wanting to complete Kit's collection.

I just got this today. I am glad I got it on sale, though. It is very cute and authentic, but I agree, FRAGILE! Definitely not for playdates. Ours sometimes doesn't want to stay closed. I wish the lens was clear plastic instead of just black. I think this will be more for display and my own reminiscing of my parents era than anything. Glad I have it, even though it probably won't be used much, it's fun to look at!
I got this today as part of my "cheer-me-up"/"get well fast" gifts (got my wisdom teefs out this morning...ow!, and started a new semester this week), and it's SO TINY AND CUTE.
I had a little trouble getting the front flap to fold down to let the aperture bits stretch out, but once I put my fingernail to the little tab, it worked well. I LOVE the little case for it! I got Beatrice a digital camera for Christmas that will fit into the case, too, if I decide to remove the Brownie for a photo session.
Also, the photogaph book is EXACTLY like all the ones my Nanny and Pa had for their scrapbooks and photoalbums. I wish there were little photocorners for the pictures, but I'll make some myself. Oh, wait, the cover is different from theirs, but still very similar! Pa was born in 1925 and Nanny was born in 1932, so I just love how obviously accurate it is for that time period. It made me squee in glee, even though I had expected AG to be accurate.
One of the small details I saw is that the back of the camera has a little number wheel. It is tiny, but has a "6" or "9" listed - I think it's a "6" indicating that the next photo taken will be the sixth one - afterall, she has five photographs in her album already. Too cute!
The only other thing I'd wish is that the camera itself had a strap to go around the neck, instead of the small handle, but I think getting one jury-rigged would be easy as pie. (mmm, pie!)
Grade: C- I just got my package from AG today. I placed my order on Saturday so I suppose it arrived in good time and everything and I was excited to open it. The first thing I opened out of the big box was Kits photography set. I had heard SOOOO many good reveiws on how great this is and felt kinda forced to order it even though I dont have Kit since it may retire. First of all I thought the camera case was made of leather not CHEAP plastic! I thought the camera whould have benn metal but it too was Plastic! I had troble getting the camera out and felt like I almost broke it The photograph album is almost EXACTLY the same as Emilys scrapbook! They are the same design, same size, and both seem poorly put together with little strings. There were five little pictures included with sticky backs so "you" can "fill up" the scrapbook. Without the sticky backs the pictures whould probably be thinner than todays pictures though, about the thickness of normal printer paper. Oh and the codact film box, just a little paper glued together box, seems like it could be crushed easily. I give this set a C- because of the cheap materials used to make it and the little amount of accual pictures to put in a lengthy album plus they are easy to loose. I regret getting this, if I had Kit Im not sure if I would or not but I would only get this if you realy want to complete Kit's collection.
See, if I hadn't seen so many examples of albums that tied like that, I'd think the same thing, puglove. But it's so accurate to the examples I've seen, that I just loved it. Honestly, Emily's scrapbook is the bit I liked best about her accessories set, but it seemed kind of small - but it's about the right size for a photograph album. I have such odd biases.
One of the nice things about the camera case is that there is a small, weak magnet that keeps the flap closed. I say weak because it's really not strong at all, but I could tell that it was there when I closed it.
I didn't know that the pictures had sticky backs! I'll have to look at them later... And I really need to find my camera and upload the photos of it. I love this set much more than Molly's Rte 66 accessories - the camera is more fun, to me.

Well, after seeing this set come up on sale more than once, I decided I'd better go on and get it, lest it be retiring!!!
It is very cute, but it is so delicate! I am trying to be *very careful* about opening it with my fingernail.......... Makes me nervous. Then I just remind myself that I'm an adult and not a little kid (but then again, who's the one who accidentally tossed Kit's undies on Christmas day when I got her??!! Oh my...another story...I did get a replacement, btw!)
I haven't taken the album out of its bag yet, but it looks darling!
I'm a photography buff, and this set reminds me of an old Kodak we've had for years and years and years!
I got this set at AGP and I am glad I coded it because it's not really worth full price. The case is made from pleather (plastic leather wannabe) like Sam's valise. It closes with a magnet and mine closes just fine. The camera itself was nearly impossible to open! I finally figured out that I had to pull out the little Kodak lever and then open it. If I had difficulty, I can't imagine a child doing it, even an 8+ child. It is indeed very fragile and not for young fans. I love the little number on the back indicating what picture you are on. I also love the amazing details on the Kodak film box: it says to develop before October 1934! Oops I guess Molly is ten years late getting Dad's film developed! The photo album looks just like ones I have seen from the 30s-60s. The little sticker pictures are really cute but very specific to the Depression and Kit's story. I'll have to make up something about why Molly has those pictures in her album. Maybe they were Dad's when he was younger. I wish the pictures had black corners like real photo albums of the time.
