This item is associated with the book, Molly's Surprise. It was introduced in 1986, and some of the contents were later modified (with variations of the ballerina, flip book, paint set, and other pieces) before retiring in 2006.Hang Molly’s striped Christmas stocking next to yours—it’s bulging with surprises! A little ballerina, a yo-yo that really works, a flip book with moving pictures of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, two white barrettes for Molly’s hair, a candy cane, and a paint set. Lot’s of tiny treasures for you and Molly to play with on Christmas Day and all year long.Revised stocking GRADE: AIt's Adorable! I was expecting this to be big and clumsy looking. I don't understand the urge I had to get these, but I'm glad that I did. The Fantasia flipbook takes me back to when I was a kid. The yo-yo is made of wood. The little ballerina feels like very hard plastic, but she is really cute. She has on a real netted tutu. The miniature paint kit is cute. I will have to keep it away from DD though. I'd like for it to stay cute. What I really didn't like were the barettes. They are big like my daughters, and don't look like they would fit on Molly's braids.

I think the set is cute, but since I've had it for awhile, it has some issues. The yo yo has gone missing...I need a replacement part. The ballerina doll broke somehow and had to be glued...if I remember right, a certain cat thought it was a toy! lol Everything is else is cute, though. Molly's really "painted" with her paint set, and she loves putting her stocking out every Christmas. And the barrettes do work in Molly's hair...not on the braid ends but on the sides of her head.

Being a HUGE Disney fan I *had* to get this set just for the Mickey Mouse flip book. But I love the whole set. It's all so cute!
A+

There are so many versions of Mollys Christmas Stocking that it is hard to keep them straight. I have decided to upload some pics of my Stocking that in my opinion, is one of the harder ones to find. There are several versions of the yo-yo, flip book, paint set, and the ballerina. This particular set that I have includes the hard to find wooden blue ballerina. I was so thrilled to find her in a lot that a local woman was selling! In the picture below, you will see all the pieces....however, the little barrettes are missing. The pieces in this set are awesome quality, typical of the old Pleasant Co days. Grade A +

I guess I have the secon version that DivaDoll has. This set is so cute, I love the yoyo and the 'porcelain' doll looks better than the other versions IMO. But, the stocking is my favorite part! A+++

Unfortunately I lost the dancer, but here's everything I still have. Overall, I LOVE this set and recommend it to anyone. The paints are pretty, the barrettes are easy to use, the yoyo really works and the candy cane is cute. I like the flip book too, but it doesn't fit in the stocking, just FYI.
