The Camp Gowonagin Uniform was worn by Molly in the book Molly Saves the Day as well as the short story "Molly Marches On." It was introduced to Molly's collection in 1987, and the name was changed to Camp Outfit in January 2009. It was retired in 2011, and then reintroduced as Molly's Camp Gowonagin Uniform with a price of $40 with Molly's rerelease in June 2022, when the story was incorporated into Stars, Stripes, and Surprises.
Early description: Every morning at Camp Gowonagain’s flag raising ceremony, Molly had to pass inspection in her uniform. She wore her red shorts, a crisp white shirt with its blue camp tie, and her hat with the camp’s logo on it.
2022 Rerelease description: Every morning at the flag-raising ceremony, all the campers show up in this patriotic uniform. It features: A short-sleeved white button-front shirt with a collar, A blue necktie tied in a knot, A pair of high-waisted red pleated shorts, A red-and-white baseball cap with a Camp Gowonagin logo patch, A pair of white ankle socks, A pair of navy-and-white saddle shoes with white laces.
Grade: A
This is a sturdy, adorable outfit. The fabric is nice and thick. It is far nicer in person than pictures.
The shirt actually buttons with real buttons - no velcro! The red shorts are the perfect red shade and are authentically styled for the '40s. They are a bit tight on my early 90's peach body Molly, however.
The neckerchief and whistle are cute. The whistle does not really make noise, which was sad for me :-(.
The ball cap is very nice quality and has a grosgrain ribbon band on the inside.
The whole set is darling on Miss Molly.

I love that there is no velcro! I just received this outfit for my Molly and she doesn't want to take it off now. She is soooo cute in it and she knows it. My dd had a Molly when she was little (something like 12 yrs ago.) She also had this outfit and hated it, because it was so tight and difficult to get on. I recently tried it on my new Molly and it was still very snug. The hat was even too small to get on her head. I wouldn't have dreamed of buying this outfit again, but you lovely board members have been telling me how nice it fits, so when it went on sale, I gave it a try. Guess What? It fits! It fits very well! Kudos to AG (and Mattell.)

I love this outfit! The shirt can be used to mix and match with other outfits and the tie makes a great hair accessory for a patriotic look. The PM set is made from thicker material but the Mattel set is only slightly thinner and not bad quality at all. The PM shorts are softer and look more like a skort than shorts. Both blouses button with real miniature buttons. The shorts close on the sides with velcro and are a bit of a tough fit with Molly's bloomer undies but the Mattel version fits my white bodied Molly nicely. The hat on the Mattel version is a little small for Molly and the PM hat is also a tight fit but both can be shoved on her head and look cute. This is one of my favorite outfit sets! Grade: A Molly wears the American Girl tagged shorts and PM blouse and "Linda" wears the Pleasant Co. shorts and AG blouse. Side by side comparisons.

This outfit is just SO Miss Molly - I love the white blouse (which has many uses) and the red shorts. A+

I gave this to my niece but tried it on my Samantha first. Unfortunately, I untied the tie since the velcro was under the collar. That was fun to retie. Cute outfit just remember it velcros when you first get it.

My daughter just received this outfit for Christmas, it is one of the last remaining outfits, still sold by AG, that she needed to complete her Molly collecton. This set was purchased at AG in the fall of 2009. I love all the memories that this outfit brings to mind. The hat fits Molly's head perfectly. I really like the crisp white of the shirt, ad how nice the collar lays - no velcro! The tie around her neck is just the right length. The shorts fit our Molly perfectly (even if they are a little lopsided in the photo). Overall, I give this outfit an A+! D~

I purchased this outfit on February 14 at AG place in Natick. It comes with a blouse, red shorts, necktie, and cap. It's a pity that the shoes have to be bought separately, but Molly can wear the standard saddle shoes that go with her other outfits.
All of the clothing fits well and is made of good quality material, thick fabric. The shirt is not as see through as some might be worried about. It's my favorite piece of the outfit because it is great for mixing and matching! Right now, one of my other dolls is wearing it with a pair of jeans. The camp clothes makes a nice casual outfit for Molly, and it is such an iconic part of her collection that it is a must-have for any Molly collector, or someone who wants a cute adventuring outfit.

Like QnPoohbear, I have both PC and AG camp uniforms. The first one was purchased in the summer of 1989 and the most recent in 2008 (though that one happens to have a PC tag). The others were purchased around 1996 and 2006. Although the size of these outfits can vary a bit from batch-to-batch, all four outfits comfortably fit all my Molly dolls (1987-88, 1989, 1992 (with a new head), 1995, early transitional, and early 2000s). *Giggles* I was on a Molly thrift sale/store streak last year. Actually, the outfit I purchased in 1989 appears to be the smallest of the bunch. Here is picture of 2 Molly dolls with white bodies. The one on the right is wearing the outfit that was purchased around 1996 and the one on the left is wearing the 2006 outfit. mod edit to remove inaccessible image

Molly' Camp Uniform is the perfect outfit for outdoor summer adventures. I bought 2 sets last spring. I have no problems getting to outfit on my PM 1993 Molly. I like how the knot in the blue bandanna is sewn and it attaches with velcro in the back. The white shirt and red shorts are good for mixing and matching. I bought this on eBay for my birthday (and Molly's). I wanted to get it for her last year - she still needs summer clothes and pants - but it was back-ordered. It's such a cute outfit. Surprisingly, the NIB set I got seems to be from 2007 - it still had the perforated cards with Molly and Emily's summer outfits (all of which but Molly's Bathing Suit are discontinued now).
This is a great, classic outfit, and it's a shame they retired it. It fits fine on my PM Molly, and I love how the shirt really buttons, instead of using velcro. The quality on everything is great, and the hat's adorable! One of the all-time best AG outfits for mixing and matching.

My parents got this for me right before I went to camp for the first time - it was a great idea! It's so cute and I love it. I wish MY childhood camp had a uniform like this.

Perfect for the summer and all the exploring my Molly does! The outfit is adorable, especially with the little tie. I do wish it came with the saddle shoes though.

Molly looks adorable in this outfit! A+
We actually own three of the outfit so that Susan and Linda can join Molly at Camp Gowonagin.

I did not get this outfit on its original release, but I remember thinking it looked great in the Pleasant Company catalogue. Happily, I was able to buy it after Molly's rerelease last June, and it fits my PM Molly (Pleasant Company neck stamp, given to me around 1994) perfectly! Although she's not wearing the included Saddle Shoes here, they fit her chubby feet perfectly. I didn't even have to unlace them to get them on. flic.kr/p/2nN8cn2
