* This item was introduced in 2000 and retired when Molly was archived in 2013. *I realized when I replied to the review of Molly's retired wooden table and chairs that I should comment on her current table and chairs in a separate review. So here goes. I thought I would love this set. I was collecting for Molly at the time and I thought her wooden table and chairs was spectacular, as well as being really accurate. When I saw that the wooden ones had been replaced by this set, I was excited because it was an exact copy of my grandmother's kitchen table and chairs, including the button on the chair seat. So I bought two sets right away. The first thing that I noticed was that the "formica" top on the table was not scaled properly. It looked like someone had scanned a regular people-sized formica table and then pasted it onto the table top. The pattern struck me as too large. My second concern was that unlike the wooden table I was used to, this one doesn't fold down. It's nice and sturdy but it's quite large to have just sitting around. The deciding factor was the chairs. The seat is too small and too slippery. My dolls kept sliding off. Even pushing them right up against the table, they tended to slither. The old Molly chairs have the same size seat but because they're wood, they seem to have more purchase and the dolls balance fine on them. I used this set exactly once and sold both sets I'd bought. So I can't post photos because they weren't in my house very long. On their own, with nothing to compare them to, I guess I'd give them a C+. Compared to the original wooden table and chairs for Molly, they'd get a D-.

I have this red set, I give it an A-. I like it because it reminds me of a set my parents used to have and that I grew up with (ours was beige instead of red).
The table is huge! it can easily fit 4 dolls. Though the dolls have to be pushed all the way in to the table so that they do not slide off the chairs. The set overall is quite a bright red, which I wish was a bit more subdued.
The chairs are heavy, the table is light. The table surface can scratch easily but does not show with the pattern, though be very careful when cleaning it, I would not use the magic eraser on it - some color came off.....

I am having trouble fitting Molly's chairs back into the fitted styrofoam in the AG box they came in. Yes, I feel like a dork, but could someone help me out with a photo or something? I know the chairs nested perfectly, then the table lowered over them. I just can't get it worked out.
I've gotten them configured in a way that seems almost right, so both chairs fit, but the table definitely can't fit.
It seemed so easy.....
I pulled them out hurriedly to take to my daughter's school for her Molly display. I didn't really take a look at how they fit, beforehand. And I haven't been able to get them back inside.
I really would appreciate any help. Thanks a bunch!

I thought of you when I was putting things away today. In case you haven’t gotten the table and chairs put away yet, here’s a few pictures. mod edit to remove inaccessible images The table fits in the outer set of indentations. The legs should slide into the indents near the corners.

Molly's Table & Chairs Item# D6567 $65 (price increase to $85 January, 2012)
While Dad is away, Molly and her family often eat their meals in the kitchen instead of the dining room, with a set just like this one. The 1940s-style kitchen table has rounded corners, shiny chrome trim, and a cherry red formica top, like tables still found in diners all over America. Also includes curvy chrome chairs with cushy padded seats and buttons on the seat backs.I finally got these and am very glad that I did. The table is HUGE. It's 15" x 12" and stands 9 1/2" tall. You could easily put four if not six chairs around it and it's really too bad AG quit selling the extra chairs for it. The 'formica' top is just plastic. The 'chrome' around the table edge is plastic too. The underneath side of the table top is solid white plastic. The table legs and chair legs are metal. It's really constructed quite well and I don't have trouble keeping a doll sitting on the padded, vinyl seats. They kind of 'stick' too it like you would on a vinyl car seat on a hot summer day. Grade A. Molly and her table, size comparison Molly and the sweet vinyl padded chair underneath side to see the construction

I've always loved this set and the Spotlight sale price plus free shipping was too much to pass up so here it is and I'm very pleased with it. The first thing I did was try sitting a doll at the table and I didn't have any trouble getting her to stay on the chairs. Look Ma! No hands! I would love to have 2 more chairs, the table is huge and it looks like it needs 4 chairs. But now that I sit dolls at it, I'm not sure how I would fit that many legs and feet under there without them kicking and pushing each other! So I'll try to be happy with 2 chairs. The only thing I would change about this set is to make the table legs fold up. Looking at the bottom of the table, it looks like they should be able to fold for easy storage but no such luck.
