This item was released in 2006 and retired in 2008.While preparing to land the part of Miss Victory, Molly wants nothing more than to have beautiful, curly locks. This wooden dressing table and fabric-covered stool give Molly a place to sit while getting her hair done. Vanity has a fabric skirt that slides open to reveal a storage drawer underneath and a decorative, three-panel mirror that sits on top. Includes trading cards. We just recieved Molly's vanity and overall IMO it's a wonderful piece, real wood nice weight to it. We had our doll sit with her legs still touching the ground, if this makes any since. DD really seemed to like it, now the only thing that I was disappointed in was the mirror. As I said this is just IMO it's made of a somewhat cheap plastic, not a real mirror but when I peeled a piece of the protective cover back you can see yourself in it. I just worry with a child playing with it how long will the mirror last. Here are some pictures of Kit with Molly's vanity. I really like the vanity and think it's very well made and does have some weight to it. Other than the mirror, which I think is made of a lightweight plastic that might not hold up to play, overall I'd give it a A. (mod edit for title change & to fix images)

Thanks for the review. It seems less reflective than an actual mirror, which is disappointing since it looks so nice and shiny on AG.com. Does it have the peel off plastic coating stuff on it or is that the way it's supposed to be? ETA: After purchasing this for myself I've beenm able to answer my own question. Yes, there is a peel-off film on it, so it is a nice and shiny mirror. I called AG and got a replacement Vanity, but only changed out the mirrors since the rest of it was fine and I didn't want to have to fight the rest of vanity back into the box. I'm very happy with the replacement mirror. This piece gets an A- from me. The fabric for the skirt feels odd. It reminds me of the fabric at the farbic store that is covered in formaldihyde (sp?). I've think it would actaully be pretty easy to change out or take it off to wash since the rod is just screw into the back.

I was lucky enough to buy this vanity on sale, during one of the "great AG sales of 2008/09" - and I am so happy that I did. It is just a great solid piece of furniture, and I am thrilled with how nicely it compliments Molly's entire bedroom. Then, this is how it's set up in our display cabinet: Overall, I give this an A+! I have this and really like it! it gives Molly's room such personality and feminity.
I, however, was afraid to peel off the protective seal on the mirror, since I did not want to ruin it and wasn't sure if it did come off. Does it really come off?
I do think that if it had a "real" mirror, there would be a lot of breakage with it and would not meet safety codes for childrens toys.

Now mine is only mine and was never played with by DD so I can not attest to the how it keeps up with child play. However the mirror has been fine for at least 2 1/2 years now with just my "playing". I love this piece. It reminds me of something I remember at an aunts and my grandmothers when I was growing up. It is very well made and does not take up much room at all. I actually have a Tinkerbell doll sitting at it right now.

I don't have Molly's bed so I use the vanity with Kit's bed and the chenille bedspread:

Got this from the outlet in Summer 2012. I know why so many were at the outlet. The back is cracking. I'll show pictures below. But otherwise it's a nice piece. I like that I can keep the small things in the drawer and it just looks cute. The drawer sticks because of the cracking, but works if you wiggle it out. I still haven't taken the plastic covering off the mirrors.
