(this doll was retired/revised in 2013) So far, this is my favorite of the Bitty Baby bunch. She has dark, chocolate colored skin and textured black hair. This is the only Bitty Baby that has the rough textured (plastic hair). So far, the top of her head has not scuffed at all with normal play like our other Bitties have. Bitty Baby currently comes in a short sleeved, lavendar play suit. I love this suit on her, expecially against her dark skin. The play suit is similar in design to all of those before it and closes in the back with velcro. I give this dolly an A. Every little girl needs a baby doll. Bitty Baby is moderately priced and should last a lifetime. Here is Pippi -

Here is my daughter's African American Bitty, Zaza (with Mimi, light skin, dark hair and eyes in back). We've had Zaza for 5 months and have had no issues with her head getting scratched like Mimi and blonde and Asian bitty. She is really a beautiful doll and with the benefit of non-scratching "hair" has definite one-up on the other bitties.

Reagan Nicole is the PM Bitty I found in a thrift store in 2004. She still had the original Bitty sleeper (white with tiny red rosettes), so I'm assuming that she is a first edition (1995). She looks more like my ONB than the newer Bitties and has been very loved by her previous owner, but she is a sweet little thing. Grade: A

This is just a personal opinion; obviously many people including my friend's daughter would disagree with me, but when I saw the AA bitty in person at AGP I thought it was the ugliest babydoll I'd ever seen and I couldn't believe out of all the other beautiful things in AGP, that was what this girl chose. I just think they could have made it SO MUCH CUTER.

I have to disagree with the previous reviewer, I think this is cutest Bitty Baby! We also have the medium brown Bitty and a Blond ONB. I really like the skin color of this doll, I think the medium brown one always looks a bit "off" in the pastel outfits. This one is cute in anything though. I am glad to see the heads on these don't show as many marks as some of the other dolls. My daughter just got this doll for Christmas and calls her Dark Brown Bitty. The other two dolls are called Brown Bitty and Blond Bitty (are you noticing a trend here? ).

Here's a pic of my new BB gal. Her name is Summer Joy (her bear is Pippi - like someone's doll listed above!) She is just the sweetest most adorable little baby ever! One of the reasons I picked her is because this review panel said that her head scuffs less easily than the other BBs. I asked the CS about that and she (who has over 25 BBs!) agrees that this doll's head scuffs less than the others and suggested that one could have the other dolls wear bonnets to protect them. Good luck having a child use a bonnet all the time on their doll! Anyway, I give this baby an A+. She has gorgeous skin, with a little pink in the cheeks, and pretty little lips and looks good in everything! She also smells really great. The same CS said that the newer Bitties have been changed to have their skin less shiny. Hers isn't shiny at all, so perhaps that is true. The vinyl is harder than my 18" dolls. Her outfit is very soft and pretty. I haven't read the book yet so no comment on that. It seems nice that there are spaces for the doll owner (or his/her parent) to write details about the new dolly. I checked 5 boxes to make sure the doll's eyes rolled nice and smoothly. I was satisfied with 2/5 boxes on this account. The BB has a current price of $42 for doll, book, and bear.
I just love Summer and am now a BB convert.

O.K, now, I might be wrong but I am almost certain that my June is ONB. Or at least PM. So, I'm posting here. I love my June! She is the cutest thing ever! Here are some comparison pictures of her and Morgan: You can see her chubby little cheeks and beautiful long eyelashes... ...And her thicker strings here. All in all, June is a beautiful dolly no matter what.
