(this doll was retired/revised in 2013) The medium skin/brown eyes Bitty Baby is my least favorite. I do not like the color of her skin which I think looks like coffee with too much cream in it. She has the standard Bitty Head which is the same as the light skin/blonde and brunette dolls. Her hair is black and scuffs and scratches easily. I love Bitty Baby and would give all Bitties an A grade. This one just doesnt "do it" for me though. Bitty Baby is a moderately priced play doll that should be in every little girls collection. A doll that should last her a life time and be passed down to her own little girl (or boy).

The skin tone on this Bitty varies a great deal. DD's medium skin Bitty came home at the end of 2005 and has beautiful brown skin. I've seen medium skin Bittys I would have sworn were the light skin, brunette Bitty. DD's Bitty is several shades darker than a friend's. DD's Bitty is darker than my #15 and Josefina. I love this Bitty. She looks tons better in some of the lighter colored Bitty outfits than the caucasian Bittys. For instance, the Little Flowers Layette set looks fabulous on this Bitty, but my lighter skinned BT looked completely washed out and, well, just plain bad in it. Scuffs do show on her head more than on the blond bitty, but it doesn't seem any worse than our Asian Bitty. She has a sweet face with her dark eyes, lip color and hair. She stands out in the world of baby dolls. While she is generally thought of as Hispanic, she can easily represent a variety of ethnicities-- Hispanic, Pacific Islander, Indian.... I love the diversity in the Bitty line. I give this doll an A+. There just aren't enough cute, ethnically diverse baby dolls in the world and this one is a real sweetie. Here DD's Bitty enjoys a movie with Jess:

I have re-fallen in love with my Medium skin Bitty. She was purchased as a gift for me from my mother during the first year she was available. I was in middle school, so not playing much with dolls anymore, but I was totally smitten for the older brother of my Hispanic best friend, and begged for the doll fiercely. She has absolutely beautiful skin that I cannot even begin to think of an appropriate color reference for, it's just so unique. I think she is one of the most beautiful of all of the dolls. I put her away in my mother's closet only less than a year after getting her and haven't thought much about it until my four year old daughter recieved an American Girl catalog in the mail. I decided to pull her out (still have not shown daughter, don't want her playing with it until I can teach her how to handle gently) and see what condition she was in. Nearly perfect! My mom had been so smart as to put the Special Occaision bonnet on her head and put her in a plastic zip up bag to protect her. She has only two or three small rub marks (hardly noticible!) and NO scuffs at all! I love this doll!

I was a little hesitant to purchase a medium skin bitty baby but I am so glad that I did! She has the sweetest face and her skin tone is amazing. It is a nice contrast to a lot of the light skin dolls that I have. The pictures on the website do not do justice to what a beautiful color her skin is. I love the way outfits look on her. The bright colors always look amazing against her skin. I was worried that her dark hair would show every little scuff mark but her hair still looks amazing... especially considering that my two year old loves to play with her. She has proven to be a very durable doll. I would definitely recommend this doll to anyone that is considering her. You will not be disappointed! I give her an A+! i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af242/lindygh/AG/1345335491.jpg?t=1345503830 [/img]

Lotsa love here for my medium skintone BB...."Annabelle" She often wears a cap or bonnet not only because she's really cute that way, but to protect her "hair paint". So far she has no scratches, even after about 3 years. The some of BT outfits are really cute on her, but the BB outfits are really best suited. This doll is my second favorite of the Bitties (my first being the blue eyed brunette doll), and I definitely recommend her if you want a doll to love. She can also be a sister to Marisol or #30, or even the medium skinned Bitty Twins. I don't currently have pictures of my Ruby May, but I will have some up on my blog very soon.

A darling little Hispanic baby. She makes a lovely sister for Josefina if you pretend that Papa and Tia Dolores have a baby.
