(this doll was retired/revised in 2013) I love her I'm very fond of the bitty line. I had always wanted to get this Bitty Baby but the fact the she only had painted hair had stopped me that was tell I found this board and learned about the world of customizing your doll. One thing I notice right a way she does have lighter colored skin but its darker then other Bitty's (I have the original blond twins and then the new style bitty twin girl with Brunette hair). I was suprized that she look better with the painted hair then I thought she would. The catalog and on-line picture could have been better she looks more Asian once you see her in person. I would give her A+

I was disappointed in the Mattel Asian Bitty's lip paint. It didn't encompass the top lip and made her look a bit like a geisha, which I didn't care for. I do LOVE my PM Bitty Asian, she also has a much rounder face and soft eyelashes. Here is the PM Asian Bitty baby Mattel Asian bitty baby's lips. notice how the top lip is cut a little short. I did have them send another out and she was the same

I love this bitty baby. She is adorable and looks good in most outfits. My asian bitty baby is very old and has a different hair than the newer one. I personaly like it better. Her eyes are very pretty snd do not have the same problem with getting her eyelashes stuck in her head. She is so much cuter then you will ever expect. She is a great bitty baby. I give my little Mady a A.

I got my sweet PM Asian Bitty, Jennifer, in early 1997. She was my first AG doll, period, and my mother picked her out because she looked the most like me when I was born (even though I'm not one bit Asian). She's absolutely darling, nice and squishy, with her skintone darker and more golden than blond Bitty. I love her soft babyish eyelashes and minimal facepaint! I agree with the other reviewers in that her head paint does scuff fiercely but it's easy to color with marker or paint. (My doll's hair seems to be differently shaped than the Mattel dolls - a widows' peak, if you will - and it is very shiny.) She's also had some eye problems - they stick, and one has a rim of silver around the brown iris which doesn't seem to be silver eye, but rather some of the metal workings of the eye showing. Don't know if this is due to a problem with the doll or the care I gave it. She came in the first version sleeper which has pilled over time, but it's been nearly 13 years and I didn't take particularly great care of it. The diaper was just a piece of flannel with a bit of serging around the edges and velcro to fasten. I really need some better pictures but these will do for now. Showing the scuffs on her head: And the markings on her neck: She's the only baby doll I was ever interested in. A

After seeing such cute photos of this little sweety here on AGPT, I finally found the one who wanted to come home and live with me! We call her Missy after Ivy's little sister. I think she's from 1997-98 partly because she came wearing the Autumn Set which debuted in 1998. Also she has the same neck stamp as Wickfield's above and no body tag. (she's wearing the AGPlace Exclusive Bitty Romper from 2003 in the photo above)Such a sweet little face! Glad she joined our family here! ETA: Another picture, because she's just so cute!

Here's a new picture of my Bitty after she got an eyeswap from the doll hospital, I also touched up her face paint a bit: The Mattel eyes are a little different, apart from the firmer lashes they also seem to show more white in the eye, so she looks more "awake".
