I bought this set when it was on sale for $32, instead of $42. Honestly, it's not even worth $12. The microphone is cheaply made and not detailed well at all. The sign and stickers are not much better. The 'stool' is actually metal and well made....BUT there is no way a doll can sit on it. JMHO, but don't waste your money. Grade: F I had to go back and re-read my review...but yep, I still stand by it. I am pretty sure it's the only F I have given, I don't think I have given any Ds and only a handful of Cs, so I am actually not a real harsh grader. Even my DS9, who loves just about all the furniture and accessories doesn't like or use it, even though he does love the guitar. I will be interested to see what others think.

I actually really like the set, and so does my daughter. I agree that it is kinda difficult to get the girls to sit on the stool. They rather have to lean with one "cheek" on it. But, it is one accessory in my house that gets plenty of play time. I was fortunate enough to pick up this item NIB from shopgoodwill.com fairly cheap (less than $30 shipped)

I bought this accessory set with the outfit on ebay just after Christmas for $25 from a WI seller. I was so psyched to see this big box arrive for so little money that I think I actually giggled when I opened the shipping box and saw the AG boxes inside.
I gave it to DD9 for Valentines Day and she initially thought it was awesome. She immediately put the outfit on her doll only to discover that the boots were so small she couldn't dress the doll on her own. Even I had difficulties forcing Chrissa's feet into them. So, she put the chair & microphone on Molly's stage and her dolls all gathered around for a concert. It was adorable, but again somewhat disappointing b/c there's no way we could position a doll to sit on that seat.
It looks really cute but if I'd spent $42 - or even $30 - I'd be really disappointed b/c there just isn't that much to it, despite the big pretty box. Since we bought it, I've started noticing them in my ebay searches and they've been bringing well under $20 recently. My suggestion is to watch those auctions carefully and buy it there instead if you decide you want it. I wouldn't give it a failing grade in a review b/c it adds JLY play value to Molly's stage but it's not at the top of either DD9's or my list of favorites by far...

I use mine strictly as background props for my stage diorama. The dolls can't sit on the stool, but I think the idea was for them to be kind of proped up with one leg on the floor. The chair is a sturdy metal, but the other pieces are plastic. They work well as props but that is about it. It really was not worth the $42. I guess that was because of the stool being metal.

I bought it to go with Molly's Stage. I hate to say it, but I really bought it for the microphone and sign -- which definitely wouldn't be worth $42. I knew that when it was gone, I would wish I had bought it for 'the stage' -- talent shows, spelling bees, etc. Ebay prices are better but the shipping put it at the same price or higher when shipped to me -- definitely watch the shipping for that heavy chair and box...

Not a functional stool. Most singers don't sit on stools (and for good reason, as it would affect their breathing) but they are used in staging, even for the pop stars of the target market age kids. AG didn't make the intent clear....and clearly $42 is awfully pricey for a prop!

I wouldn't call it junk, but it definitely is not worth the original price tag. My dd asked for it for Christmas. I was surpised how heavy the stool is though, ostensibly so that you can lean your doll against it- cause they certainly can't sit on it. The microphone and stand do have lots of play value though.
One warning: We left some of the alphabet stickers on the marquee sign for about a month or so- and they would not peel off. Well, they did peel off- but stripped off the paper backing from the sign with them too. I promptly called cs and they sent me out a new one immediately. And they sent a prepaid box for me to ship the damaged one back to them in.
At least they stand behind their products. I asked if this was an ongoing quality issue with this item. The rep did say there had been some returned with that similar problem.
It has only been a few weeks since we did the exchange. I have been periodically checking to see if the stickers peel off without incident. So far so good.

I did cover the sign with clear contact paper to avoid that. You might want to do that when the new one comes.

I think the sign is lame, but I was surprised at the quality of the chair and how sturdy it is, and I think the microphone is adorable. I do like the set a lot, and I don't even mind having paid full price for mine.

We have this and when I received this at first I sent it back because it said it had removable stickers. Well once you stick them on they stay on or it will tear the back ground. They sent me another and it was the same thing. The stool is just a prop. No doll can sit on that unless she is a Barbie. I would have sent it back again for good but DD wanted to keep it. She likes the microphone. Not worth the money at all. Not even on sale.
