Baking Table & Treats (2010-2013)

Comes with:

The table measurements:
Folded - 5.25" x 11.25" x 9" tall
Open - 16" x 11.25" x 9" tall

The table is made out of wood, the cabinet runs the whole length across so it has enough storage for all the above plus the separate baking set and still leaves some extra space. The other side has a towel bar and two pegs but you'll have to get the baking accessories set for the towel, oven mitten and potholder to hang on it. The two supports for the table leaves just swing out to the two stop bars, they swing out on opposite sides and they do not lock down in anyway (so be careful when you lift the table while it's open, just be sure to put the stands back to the middle when you set it back down). It is not the same color as Chrissa's sewing table, it is a deeper turquoise, here is a comparison pic:



The cupcakes are all separate and even come out of the liners which are plastic. The cookies are separate but the rice krispie treats are two pieces of two treats clumped together. The chocolates are one clump but do come out of the paper box. The stand is plastic and does not spin, the muffin pan is plastic as well. The cupcake mix box is cardboard but does have something solid inside to give it some weight. The runner is cloth and is embroidered on both ends. The plates, towel bar, pegs, and cabinet handle are all plastic. Here is a picture of it mixed in with the accessories set and next to a doll to show scale:



Overall a very nice sturdy table and provides great play value. I saw many kids running to it and standing there playing with the display model at the store for a long time. You definitely will want to purchase the Baking accessories though because it has many of the, in my opinion, must have pieces such as the items to hang on the table, and the cute sprinkles jars! I give this set an A.

I saw it in person today. It looks like it will hold up well to kid use. The cupcake cups are plastic instead of paper, so while someone like me who likes more authenticity would prefer paper cups, the plastic is better for kids.

The cupcakes are very nice (each comes out of the baking cup). The krispy treats are lumped together.

Some of the pieces are very nice.

The overall feeling is "plastic". It's great for kids, but maybe not so great for collectors who like things to look a little more realistic.

Since I've gotten hooked on the silicone baking cups for cupcakes, the plastic ones in this set struck me as authentic and modern... especially since many do use them in a traditional cupcake pan. Here is an example.

I, too, give this set an "A." The table is large, yet stores easily because the sides fold down. With it's accessories & the accompanying Baking Accessories Set (apron, bowl, spoon, sprinkles, icing dispenser, pot holders & tea towel), there is tons of play value.

'A' here as well! DD got this as well as the baking accessories for her birthday at AGPNY last week and she simply loves it!

Like the others said, the table is large but stores easily. The storage compartment is very deep and stores everything nicely.

We also have the retired JLY Sweet Treats Bakery Case but this table was a great addition to our bakery setting!

We've had this set for half a year and it's held up well to play and display.

Now, I'm not fond of the lime green and red color combination used in the accessories, but since we mix those up with lots of other things the combination isn't as jarring. Individually I like those colors but find it a very icky combination.

Aside from that, everything is incredibly well-made and it all stores so well. The price point is high but I think this is one of the best modern accessory sets AG has produced in quite a while, so definitely an A grade.

Since there are already photos of it with the accompanying accessories, I thought I'd throw in a photo of the table in action with lots of messy doll bakers! It's amazing how much can fit on there!

Cupcakes!
As to the color, the cupcake frosting is not really hot pink but they're not exactly red either -- bright berry? The wrappers are pink with white polka dots. The frosting style reminds me much more of store-bought cupcakes than homemade ones.

The table is a really great piece, but my dollhouse space is limited so I eventually passed it on. (Note that the potholders were from the Baking Accessories set sold at the same time).

This is a fantastic set! It's extremely versatile (baking table, dinner table, desk, hall table) and the drop-leaf aspect means that it's easy to store and can take on different positions and fit into smaller spaces. I love the cupboard! It holds everything that comes with the table and lots more. It's a lovely colour!

The food is also delightful. I love the biscuits the most because they look so realistic it's crazy!

This is one of those sets that illustrates perfectly why I buy American Girl and ship it halfway around the world. It is so well done that it gives me goosebumps.

The food is incredibly detailed. My DD observed that the rice krispies looked just like the real thing 'sans stickiness'. I wish AG hadn't stuck those together in twos, surely they are too big individually to be a choking hazard? They didn't clump the Linzer cookies, which are so realistic I can almost taste the jam...
The little chocolates on the other hand, much as I hate clumped food, are so wonderfully realistic that I see very well why AG clumped them!
DD was in raptures over the cupcakes, too. They look very like those for sale in a certain upmarket cake shop in the city.
I love that the cupcakes come out of the liners and that there are two extra liners. They'd be absolutely perfect if the icing was removable, or if there were some without, to be 'coming out of the oven', but that's just being picky, really.

The table itself is just gorgeous, beautifully made and finished. The gate legs and cupboard door operate smoothly and the cupboard is lovely and roomy. Again, if I were being really picky I'd wonder why the towel rail, hooks and cupboard handle (and latch) couldn't have been metal instead of plastic.

I simply adore this set! AAA+

Another AAA+ from us!!! DD got this set for Christmas and hasn't stopped playing with it yet! The colors are not to my taste, but she loves them. Everything looks real and has TONS of play value. I love the way it folds when you are finished and all the pieces can go inside. There is even enough room inside for a FEW extra food pieces DD has. I purchased this while it was on sale and also used a coupon code so I got a real bargain but I wouldn't hesitate to pay full price for it.

The linzer cookies are by far the best thing in this set. I'm going to be hunting them down on the secondary market for a Christmas display.
