This set was released in 2005 and retired with archival in 2010.
A blue pillow and quilt with Cluny lace, a fringed valance with attached floral-print bed hangings, and a fringed bed skirt cover Elizabeth's four-poster hardwood bed and mattress.
Bed: It is real wood, but pretty light. An older girl could probably assemble it on her own with adult supervision. The screwdriver really isn't necessary. I did this within 45 min and it's my first time assembling anything! (proud of myself)
Bedding: The canopy is nice, & heavy. It's important to not the instructions for putting it on are for Felicity's bed. All you really have to do is put the curtains-and-canopy piece over the tester and tie back the curtains. I keep some of my curtains untied to cover the places where the bed's against the wall.
I love the mattress. It's really realistic! The fabric is slightly rough and it is SO soft for your dolls to lie on.
The pillow is just a pillow matching the coverlet, which has very nice lace on it. This looks lovely with the fringe of the undersheet. Both cover and undersheet have edges designed to flow around the posters, which means they wouldn't work on another bed.
Price I'd pay: $100 Price: $118
Grade: A+
Love, ~Tara

When my daughter got Elizabeth, the only other thing she really wanted was her bed. My mother and I looked everywhere for a comparable one that was less expensive, and my parents finally just decided to get her the real one. In the end, my mom, who is not easy to impress, thought the bed was really a nice piece-nicer than some real people furniture. We've had it for 4 years now, and there have been no issues despite constant use.

The canopy is bluer but the picture is slightly over saturated with light.

My daughter has Elizabeth's bed, which is the same frame as Felicity's and she puts two dolls in it all the time. The actual platform the mattress sits on is 10 3/4 x 20 inches. There is also a review of Elizabeth's bed on the American Girl website that states it can sleep two dolls.

I just got Elizabeth's bed secondhand, but in near-mint condition. I'm so impressed with it. It's very substantial, not just in terms of size (it's BIG!, it stands more than knee-high on me, and I'm a rather tall woman), but in terms of quality of materials. The wood feels pretty heavy to me, and the pegs and holes where the frame fits together are very well-sized. The gold-tone covers for the boltholes, with their felted backings, are a nice, high-quality touch too. The bed was very easy to put together.
I too love the mattress. It's a rather coarse, linen-like material, and it has the look of an old-fashioned hand-tied mattress. Very cushy and thick. The light-blue fringed top sheet and darker-blue lace-edged coverlet are about equal-weight fabrics and they look nice together. I'm not sure what's historically accurate for the colonial period, but I wish there was a heavier-weight quilt or something to go over these. Guess I'll just have to make my own! The pillow doesn't have a separate pillow case; it's just a darker-blue pillow with the same lace edge as the coverlet. It's a nice size, though, since doll pillows often seem too small to me.
The bed's hangings were the main reason I wanted this bed; it's such a cosy thing to have a curtained bed. Unlike Felicity's bedding, Elizabeth's hangings aren't separate curtains that tie onto the frame and get covered by a separate canopy. Elizabeth's are all one piece, and it just fits over the canopy frame. I realised from the pictures on AG.com that the hangings were a print fabric, light blue with a very-light-blue floral or fern motif, but when I saw it up close I was surprised to find that the tonal difference of the pattern was more noticeable than expected. It's lovely and NOT PINK. \O/
This bed is for Julian, my first girl, who loves everything blue. She's very pleased indeed with it, and it matches her eyes!

I bought Elizabeth's bedding to go on the Felicity bed. Its so beautiful! I'm so glad I was able to get it before it retirement. It gives the bed a completely different look. The blues are such a beautiful shade and it comes with many pieces. I think its definitely worth the $42 price for the quality and amount you get.

I just bought Elizabeth's bed on eBay for $100 - an excellent price, I think, given that it's retired and the new beds from AG cost at least that much. And as it was from a collector, it's in nearly mint condition. Being my first purchase of furniture for an 18" doll I was really shocked how huge it is in person!! It is really a substantial piece of furniture. It seems really well made too, with nice wood, snug joints and lovely, high-quality fabrics. I am sure that DD9 will have me making custom bedding for it in no time at all, but she loves the canopy (what little girl doesn't want a canopy bed?? lol) and I'm sure she will enjoy it for years to come... this is a piece that looks built to last. Grade: A+ ETA: The mattress is an inch or more shorter than the bed frame itself. With the bedspread on top, it's not really noticeable, but as a perfectionist, this still kind of bothers me, since I can't see any logical reason for it. However I still have to give this piece an A+ since it doesn't bother DD9 a bit, and it's her bed. ~Heather

I bought the bedding separately about a year or two ago to go with my room. The colors are pretty (more aqua than I thought it would be) but still beautiful and they go well with the bed. The tassels look okay but they're kinda crimped from the string that once held them in place.
However today without thinking I used the washer and dryer on the canopy since, having cats, they are all over Felicity's bed like a cheap suit. I have it covered but still parts of it somehow get cat hair on it. Even now as I type this with the canopy on my leg my cat is sitting on it!
Anywho, being sleep-deprived I made the DIRE mistake of not reading the directions which said "Hand wash only" and "Line Dry." As you might imagine the frilly tassels are a complete mess! I am cutting them off now. I know it is completely my mistake and not AG's but as a warning to anyone who might buy this-please read the directions! Learn from my mistake!

I received Elizabeth's bed and bedding as a Christmas gift in 2005, and it has been my favorite piece of doll furniture ever since. The Bed The bed is dark, finished wood, and when assembled properly, it is quite sturdy. I will caution, though, that the wood is rather weak. I am very gentle with my collection, and I have moved twice with this bed and made sure that it was packed safely. However, a chunk of wood chipped off one of the supports for the canopy. It doesn't bother me since it is hidden, but I would just be careful...particularly when moving. The wood seems rather soft and fragile. Grade: A-
The Bedding I would suggest ironing the bedding on the lowest setting once in a blue moon since the pieces tend to get wrinkled easily. The canopy and bed skirt are the same shade of light blue. Both are fringed, which adds a nice touch. The darker blue of the bedspread and pillow adds a nice contrast. The bedding is thick enough, and I cannot get over how wonderful the colors are. The shades of blue were definitely a selling point for me. Grade: A+

I picked up Elizabeth's bed on Ebay & quite honestly, this is the most exquisite piece of doll furniture ever made. The bedding is lovely & the size/scope of the bed is truly beautiful.
