Medium skin, curly dark brown hair, brown eyes $87 GT26G
I fell in love with AGoT 26 the second I saw her. She even managed to move ahead of AGoT 21 on my short list. As soon as I could, I ordered her.
I was so excited about her, but I was also quite nervous about her hair. What would it be like? Stiff? Crunchy? Would I mess it up right out of the box? Would she be fun to play with? Could her hair handle being styled in simple styles? Could her hair be brushed or picked? What if her curls got messed up?
As soon as she arrived, I knew it would not matter even if she was bald- she is one of the prettiest dolls that AG offers.
She has the prettiest, smoothest, creamy, honey brown complexion. Her skin tone is just stunning. She does not look like any of the other dolls I have. I think her face mold looks just perfect in that skintone.
Her happy little eyes are a beautiful shade of light golden brown. They look so real. Out of all of the dolls we have, She probably has the prettiest eyes .I love her pretty brushed eyebrows too.
Her hair came pulled up in a hairnet. I was so nervous about removing the hairnet. I almost decided to put the lid back on her box and keep her as "collectable doll" instead of a new girl to play with. I couldn't do it, she was just too pretty to leave all boxed up.
I unfastened her from the box, and carefully removed her hairnet. A cascade of beautiful, glossy, bouncy brown curls fell down to frame her face. WOW.
Her hair has an unbelievable amount of shine to it. While it is not the same silky texture as the straight haired dolls, her hair is still very soft and touchable. It does not feel stiff or crunchy at all. Right away , I noticed a curl in front that had divided down the center. I was never able to get that back into a single smooth curl again, but I was able to gently separate the single curl into two seperate curls, and with a little water to smooth the curl down, you could not tell it was not supposed to be that way.
Her hair seems to take light handling quite well. I say "light handling" simply because I have never handled her any other way. I suppose, as with any doll, if you really tried, you could ruin her hair. For the most part, I think just being reasonably cautious with her hair will be fine. I guess the main thing to watch out for with AGOT 26 would be velcro that could snag the curls.
I have not used a brush or pick on her hair because I have never had any reason to. It is easy to rearrange her pretty curls with your fingers without using anything else. It is easy to put her hair in a loose ponytail or dog ears, and she never seems any worse for the wear. Her hair seems to spring right back into place.
She has a nice off center part that helps keep her hair tidy too. When her hair needs a little refreshing, I just spritz it with water and scrunch it up a bit with my hands.
I think she would be a fine doll for any adult collector OR any doll loving kid, as long as the child had been given a few pointers about taking care of her curly hair.
I think AGoT 26 should be on everyone's wish list.

I had to have her!!! The day she was realeased, I had not even seen a picture of her. I just heard that she was medium tone and had wavy hair. I called AGPC, and ordered her right away. Waiting the two days it took for her to get here was torture, but oh so worth it. She is IMO gorgeous!!

Photo of Phoebe fresh from the box in 2006: I have to say that she is really my favorite of the JLY dolls that I have. Her hair has held up and I've had fun developing her very spirited personality. She developed a retracting eyelash a few months after I got her, which necessitated a trip to the AG Hospital for an eye replacement (covered as a manufacturing defect). She's been fine since. It wasn't her fault that she had a bum eye so that won't affect my grade of her...which is a resounding A. But I am not sure how well this doll holds up to little girl play, given the springy curls. They're pretty durable, but if a child doesn't know to finger curl and spritz I could imagine they'd get ratty quickly. They do for me as a grown-up! So I personally would NOT recommend this doll for a young child, and only for a very careful older one who cares for her dolls meticulously. The hair can get very flyaway over the course of normal play. I get out my handy bottle of synthetic hair conditioner and soak and brush and re-twist each curl regularly. It takes a little to do but the results are worth it. Not out-of-box perfect, but no one's hair is perfect. Normal maintenance is water spritz and finger re-twirl. Never brush, never pick. Still my all-time favorite JLY!

I love my #26. I got her from my fiancée the day we got engaged. Her name is Iris, because Irises are my favorite flower... and I got a dozen Irises the day after our engagement as well! To be honest, I got a 26 for Christmas last year from my mother. However, I didn't end up keeping her, because I traded her for another doll a few weeks later at AGP. I hadn't thought long enough about her character and just wasn't ready for her. Now that I have her again, I am thrilled! I'm so glad I waited, because I love this doll so much more than the first 26.

What can I say about #26? A lot!
Meet Latoya "Lati" Flynn.
Hair: Beautiful, bouncy, and curly. I know AG says to buy a pick with it to use, but I didn't. It looks best when finger combed, just a bit more natural. I'm afraid that if I put the pick near her hair the curls will straighten. I love how it is not tectured because this means she could be biracial. Face: I love the use of Addy's face mold. She would look very different if she had any other face mold. Skin: I admire the use of this tone with Addy's face mold, again suggesting that she could be biracial, but not neccisarily.
She's looking over at me at this very moment. She wants me to give her an...
A++++++++++++++AND THE PLUSES JUST KEEP ON GOING...
I also wanted to add that she looks good in every single outfit you put her in.
Sorry I couldn't post pictures. Everytime I try, it doesn't work. Sigh.

Something I noticed about this doll that has not yet been mentioned. Her hair is cut asymmetrically. It's noticeably longer in the front than in the back. I almost sent my doll back until someone told me it's supposed to be this way. Other than the weird haircut, this doll is the most beautiful doll I've ever seen. I won't grade her less than an A+. It's not her fault no one told me about her hair- lol.

I just recieved this doll and I have to say, she's so much prettier in person and member pictures versus AG catalog/website pictures! I was a bit nervous about her hair, since I don't know how to deal with curly hair. The ends of her hair seemed a little dry when I got her out of her box, but some spray wig conditioner (many refer to it as braid spray) and a little bit of rearranging and twisting by hand fixed it. I love her hair so much. I will be careful with it though, because I'm nervous about messing it up. I'm not sure how her hair would hold up to play, because the only way my dolls get played with is by changing their clothes and styling their hair. That's how I've always played with dolls; though I am an adult now and much more careful than I was as a child. This doll has such a beautiful overall coloration. She does like she could be biracial, and she actually looks quite a lot like two different people I know. One is a friend from childhood and she is half African-American and half Filipina; the other is the daughter of a family friend, and she is half African-American and half German. I really like this doll's eye color. My doll is going to be subject to an eye swap in the future, however. I have a custom planned that involves amber eyes, and I think Rachael (my 26) would be quite content with brown eyes. I've also noticed that this doll is very photogenic. She seems to photograph much better than my Molly and #25. My grade: A+

This doll has a unique eye color originally referred to as "amber" by AG, although they now call it plain old brown. Wrxgal's close-ups above and ashleyvp's photo below in this thread show the true eye color. Also, this photo of my Phoebe captures it well: See also FAQ on eye colors.

However....I am not sure how well this doll holds up to little girl play, given her springy curls. They're pretty durable, but if a child doesn't know to finger curl and spritz...I could imagine they'd get ratty pretty quickly. She's by far my favorite of the JLY dolls, but her hair does get a bit mess with young children. DD got her when she was four and a little more than a year later it's still curly but messy. I have to work on it periodically when DD can't see.

I'm not really pleased with my #26. I had her out of the box for only around an hour and her hair was already dry, frizzy, and fly away. A little water helped, but her hair was still horrible. Her hair seems really short and a very light brown compared to pictures on here and on AG.com
She has nice coloring though. Her eyes are really really pretty, they are just gorgeous! I really want to do an eye swap with another doll, since I don't really like my 26.
I give her a B-
Her hair takes her down A LOT! Her eyes and coloring keep her hovering around a B-. Without those eyes and her beautiful complection, she is easily a C or D+ in my opinion. I really just hate her hair. It was so pretty and curly, but now it is really dry on the ends, and just after a few changings and stylings, her hair has definately become uncurled some.
I am not attched to her at all and could easily get rid of her. She is pretty, but I'm not as thrilled with her as everyone else is from the reviews.

#26 is stunning! I picked her out in person at AGPC. She's went through a lot of names changes, but I finally named her Jasmine. She is just beautiful! I love her curly hair, complection, and amber eyes. Everything about her is perfect! Her hair is hard to take care of, at least for me, and it makes her more of a "sit and look pretty" kind of gal. I still love to her pieces though. She looks wonderful in pink.

This is one of the prettiest and cutest JLY dolls currently available! I picked my #26, Ashley Noel Beaumont, out at AGPLA a couple of days before Christmas as my gift from my mom. This doll is so sweet! She looks good in everything. And I haven't had any trouble with her hair yet. I was worried it would start looking ratty, but it's held very well, as I've done nothing to it. In pictures, the amber eyes don't appeal to me AT ALL, but they're much nicer in person. I give this girl an A, definitely recommend her to anyone considering her! ETA #11 and #26 comparison shot:

I completely adore this girl. Her name is Sasha Devon Moore.
She was an impulse purchase from Ebay in January '09. When I got her her hair was a sad mess. On top of that, her eyelash was retracting. So, a trip to the doll hospital later and she looks like a new girl.
She's more of a display dollie for me because I'm afraid to screw up her curls. And she has such a unique eye color.

I hopped over to add photos to the review that I was sure I had made quite a while ago, and discovered that um... I hadn't actually reviewed her at all.
Ooops.
Georgia was my Christmas present from DH way back in 2005. She is such a beautiful doll and looks good in everything I have dressed her in so far.
I have to admit that was a bit nervous of her curls and I do less with her hair than any of my other dolls but then, Georgia's hair (imho) doesn't require much styling. It looks fantastic loose; very occasionally I might put it in bunches/pigtails sometimes, a loose ponytail, tie side strands back, but (most of the time) Georgia wears a hairband (Alice band) and she's good to go.
I rate her an A+ for Absolutely Gorgeous.

I can't believe I never reviewed my beautiful lily (26)! Oh well here goes: I got a #26 as a birthday gift to myself back in mid september. When the box opened I was stunned by the beauty of my 1st direct from AG doll. I've gotten in trouble for saying this before, but lily resembles a biracial AA/caucasian or AA/hispanic child. She has a beautifull light brown complextion, it's very warm and resembles a cup of strong tea with cream in it. She had very lovely brownish colored face paint, with only a slight tinge of color to her chubby little cheeks. Unlike many I, wasn' the least bit intimidated by her gorgeous curls, I just pulled them right out of the hairnet. I'm glad I did, her hair is probably the best part of her. AG discribes her hair as dark brown, to me it seems more medium, and my 26 had a mass of spiral curls in a asymetrical cut. Some 26s seem to have sausage style curls, mine had very cute natural looking spirals, which again leads me to consider her biracial. I have plaited lily's hair back into two french braids for the cooler months, and I must say it's a lovely style on he, she has lots of short hairs to cover the wig cap and such. My only complaints are:
a) I wish her hair had been darker b) i wish her hair had been longer c)Mine came with a neck gap and no matter how often I tighten her strings it returns in a day or two.
Also, the "amber" eyes... not a fan, not so much. I don't find them lifelike, shimmering, or anyother term of endermeant AGPT members have bestowed upon them. To me they seem a grayish brown, so not cute. I'm eyeswapping mine ASAP.
I've made it no secret that the addy mold is my favorite and it really suits #26, she is simply lovely, so much so you kind of wonder why plesant company didn't make her from the get go, she would have been a nice addition to the original batch of AGTs. Llly is now my baby, there's no other way of discribing her, I feel she'd be the perfect doll for a adult , teen or responsible 8-12 year old who has shown the cascity to be carful with other dolls. A+++
BUY HER. You know you want to.
FYI I forgot to mention, with her coloring she looks gorgeous in addy's neutral colored wardrobe.
ETA: turns out she looks amazing with the new blue eyes, and I love her more since her eyeswap. So even if you don't like the amer eyes you should get her, she looks darn cute with every other color as well
Lily want me to pass along a message: "Get my cousins! I'm awesomeness squared to the tenth power!"

I got my #26 in August 2010 and named her Juliet. Before her, all of my dolls had straight hair, so at first I had a hard time keeping her curls looking nice, but later I twisted them into larger ringlets and it's much easier to maintain. She is one of the most unique and pretty dolls in my collection, and I would give her an A+.

#26 is a beautiful doll that looks good in everything I have tried. She has a beautiful warm skin tone and eyes that seem to change depending on the light sometimes appearing almost olive green and other times light brown. I was concerned with how her hair would hold up, but I have been impressed so far. At a year old it does not look exactly how she came out of the box, but I have not put any real effort into maintaining it either. This after about one month. This taken recently and show one of the ways I like to style her hair. It is curled up on itself and held in place by three mini claw clips. I also often clip one section of her hair back with a mini clip to keep it out of her face. Comparison shot with #44 Overall I give her a solid A. I can't think of anything I would change about her.

Summer, my #26, came in the mail today. She is really, really lovely! I'm so happy that I chose her as my birthday gift. She looks so cheerful and appealing. She does look a little different in person than I expected. For one thing, her skin is noticeably lighter than my other medium tone dolls. Her hair also does not seem to be textured at all; I thought it would be more like a curled Addy wig. (I'm actually glad I didn't know this before I ordered her, or I might have been too scared to try working with un-textured curls. Since she's already here, I'll be brave enough.) Her hair is not all totally uniform in colour. It has highlights of different shades of brown, so it looks realistic and catches the light nicely. I've played with her hair a little, and it seems to recurl just fine with a little finger help. Her amber eyes are more subtle than they sometimes look in photos - they actually look very natural, but still unique. Summer's curls are realistically tousled. I think it looks really cute, but this doll is not likely to have perfect hair 100% of the time, if that's an issue for you. If you just accept that she's going to look like a real kid rather than a model, though, it's very endearing. Summer is a very sweet, beautiful doll. I would definitely recommend #26. A+ for sure! ETA: Added pictures! Note that these are after Summer has been out of the box, played with, had her clothes changed, and traveled on an airplane... without having her hair redone in the meantime. Her hair could therefore be more immaculate, but I'm presenting her like this to show she's a very playable doll, and doesn't have to be only for display. A couple of pictures with Bree, to show the difference between eye colour and hair tone. Bree has brown eyes and dark brown hair; Summer has amber eyes and lighter hair.

There's a reason this girl is so popular! She's utterly gorgeous. My heart goes pitter patter when I look at her. Mine is named Rose Adele. I love the roundness of her cheeks, her sweet expression, her warm brown eyes, her skin tone, her brown hair, and the beautiful curls that I've twisted into sausage curls. I've only had her for a couple weeks (picked her on my first ever visit to an AG store, the one in Seattle specifically) but her hair isn't too hard to manage yet and I actually find it less intimidating than Kanani's hair because the curls are tighter and more compact. Her character is still a work in progress but she's going to be a historical. She looks especially beautiful in Addy's birthday dress (pictured below) and Addy's flower picking dress. I just love this doll! A+ from me!

Here's my #26 wearing the Chocolate Glasses: She also looks great in the Raspberry Glasses. I know I've got a photo of her wearing them around here somewhere... ETA: Here we go! They're not straight on her face for some reason in this photo, and I have no idea why I didn't fix them that day, because that drives me nuts. But this should give you an idea of what they look like on her.
