I received my Coconut and accessories some time ago on the secondary market. Based on what I’ve read, here and on the AG wiki, I think it’s the earliest (2000) edition.
Coconut (who I guess was marketed as a boy dog back then) is very heavy and does not have a magnetic mouth or nose, so can’t hold things the way later Coconuts can. Although the body is heavy and non-movable, it’s covered in VERY soft faux fur. Mine was obviously pre-loved and not in pristine condition; he looks like he’s taken many fun romps outdoors, like any good Westie should. I think he looks cuter and more endearing in person than I’m able to capture in photos.
Coconut has black button eyes and a black plastic nose. He has a cute head tilt, and his ears are in a fixed position.
The only part of his body that can move is his tail. The rest is covering a hard form. The bottom is covered by fabric, as you can see in this photo:
From the back:
The earliest Coconut came with a wicker bed and removable light blue polka dot cushion. The wicker bed is lower on one side than the other, and has a Pleasant Company sticker on the underside. The cushion is the same on both sides, and has an American Girl tag with washing instructions (wipe clean with cool damp cloth) sewn to it.
Coconut also came with a pretend rawhide bone and a bag of pretend treats (American Dog brand Low Fat K9 Krunchies Dog Snacks, Original Flavor). Both of these look pretty real and I like the detail on them. The dog snacks come an a resealable bag, as shown in these pictures. There’s also a bit of a window on the front of the bag so you can see the treats inside, and they look like they’re in the dog food bowl on the front of the package. I counted 11 snacks in the bag, but as I got this second hand, I don’t know if that’s the original count. (After all, “They’re woofin’ good!”, so Coconut might have been snacking on them!)
(Notice the ingredients list on the back of the dog treats package: “Plastic”. Lol)
Measurements for reference:
Coconut is about 5 inches tall, 5 inches long, and 3 inches wide at his widest part.
The outside of the basket/bed is 6.5 inches side to side and 4.75 inches front to back. It’s just under 1.5 inches tall.
The cushion is just over 5 inches by 3.5 inches, and 1/2 inch thick.
The rawhide bone is 3 inches long.
The dog treat bag is about 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide when closed, and the treats inside are each 0.75 inches long.
