*Licorice debuted in 2003 and retired in 2008. She was revised and re-released in June, 2012 and no longer has a magnetic mouth. This version retired again in 2014*
Very cute. A little sad that only his tail is posable. B.

I have Twin kitties! Here is Licorice on the right, & Peppermint on the left: I can tell them apart because their collars are different.

We have two Licorices too. We bought them a week apart (in 2005) and they came with different collars!! Both from AG on-line too! I don't understand. One collar is solid rhinestones, is a complete circle and stretches to fit over her head. The other kitty came with a black ribbon collar with rhinestones sewed onto it and it velcros around her neck. (I wonder if that second one isn't the collar that goes with the 1998 Kitty Cat outfit for dolls instead?) She comes with a pretty pink satin pillow to sit on and a fluffy pink sparkly puff ball toy that magnetizes onto her mouth. Very cute items. Anyway, I love Licorice and I think she will provide hours of playtime as she is very durable. The fur on the top of the ears is quite thin and her 'skin' shows through on one of them. The other one, the tail has broken already (after one year) Oh well. Licorice still gets an A in my book

I got Licorice for Christmas, what a cute kitty! But I am a little sad her little front paws aren't posable. It would be neat if they could hold her toy also. A+

One collar is solid rhinestones, is a complete circle and stretches to fit over her head. The other kitty came with a black ribbon collar with rhinestones sewed onto it and it velcros around her neck. That is interesting. I got the black collar with the velcro with ours. She arrived yesterday and I LOVE her! I had seen coconut and I like Licorice much better. She has a cool clicky-posable tail and her little puff ball and bed are adorable. My daughter named her "Figaro" - after the Disney kitty I give her a B. But only because I think the whole fur-covered blob thing is a little weird. I would get another Licorice before getting a single coconut... I think she's more interesting.

Love my Licorice! Her posable tail is so cool, and her face is really sweet. However, my cat came with a book, and no pillow and ball. A-

I got my Licorice in 2006, I think. My aunt lives in California, not far from AGPLA. And when she travels for work, sometimes she goes through LA and visits AGPLA. She picked up Licorice for me and mailed her to me too! She was a great surprise, and so soft too! She came with the black ribbon-like collar, a pink toy, her bed, and a cute fuzzy sticker!
My first Licorice from Borders came with a book too. Though I've heard the Borders version doesn't contain a magnetic mouth...mine does!
A+ for both the AG version and Borders version!

We have the Barnes & Noble Coconut and Licorice. Coconut has a magnetic mouth and Licorice does not:( I guess it does not matter much anymore since AG is no longer selling magnetic toys.

We got a couple of Licorices from Barnes and Noble this month while they were still around and they all had magnet mouths. Here is Licorice with her replacement pet, Ginger:

Licorice - I got Licorice the year she came out, and am attached to her because she was a gift but am not devastated to see her go. My main beef is that she is WAY off scale! She looks like she could eat Kirsten's cats, and you just show me a normal kitten that is the same size as a Westie puppy. Licorice is made of a lightweight, heavy plastic covered in thin black and white fur in the pattern of a tuxedo cat. Her nose is plastic, and her eyes and whiskers are, too. Her facial fur gets messed up easily, and I don't understand why she has little "eyebrows". Also, the wire in her tail was very thin and broke, so now she looks like she has the Cat in the Hat's tail. B-Her cushion - the darn thing sheds! Whenever I take out Josefina's school skirt it has little pink feathers stuck all over it! While it is a nice concept it's really rather cheap, made from stuffed satin with a butterfly pattern. B-Her collar - I got the earlier, original version, stretchy with rhinestone diamonds. This piece is really nice and sparkly and looks terrific on the cat. [/b]A[/b] Her toy...thing - I think it's really supposed to resemble a ball of yarn. Anyway, it is also pink with little sparkly strands woven in. It's magnetized so it will stick to Licorices mouth, too. For what it is, A.

I was lucky enough to get licorice at a garage sale just after she retired, although without her toy, collar, and pillow, so I'm just reviewing the cat. I'd like to add, though, we have cats and they'd love a bed like that. They tend to like fuzzy or silky materials.
She's fairly heavy, so I think she must be an earlier licorice. Her fur is very soft and her tail is wire coated with the fur cloth, so you can pose it. Her eyes are very cute, and you can arrange her hair, almost enough for it to be considered "styling her fur".
I like Licorice a lot. She's very cute, and looks perfect sitting on a chair in the dolls' house. She's well made and she doesn't shed. I wouldn't pay full price for her, but if she were on sale I'd definetley get her.
Overall: low A or high A-

I have 2 Coconuts and a Licorice. I don't have any new ones, but I LOVE Coconut and Licorice. I just wish they were posable. I do like their accessories too. I have the old retired pink tub, the ranch set, the old, old blue doghouse, and the tennis set. They're worth getting because they have such cute faces and are of good quality. I would say 4 and 1/2 stars.

My friend got her for me in Summer 2009, from a bookshop I think. I liked her black rhinestone collar, but it was nothing special. I promptly lost it anyway. The book is really cute, but is kind of useless for people unless they bring it out at parties, but as soon as it's used, it's used and you can't do the activities again!
The cat itself is really cute! I love her pose able tail and she's nicely detailed. Her ears are soft, but the rest of her is hard and covered in fluff. You can feel her shapely plastic body under the fluff - she isn't just a mound. I love her White accents and piercing green eyes!
She isn't a 'must have' and although she is cute, I wouldn't love her so much if it weren't for the fact that my friend gave her to me! A

Got the original licorice back in my younger days and she's still meowing. I lost the yarn ball a while ago, but still have her metal stretchy collar and her fluffy bed. She's a cute cat and somewhat proportional to the dolls.
