Grecian Princess Costume: A++ This is a lovely piece. First of all, it fastens with snaps - only the waistband is velcro. This is wonderful and aids in a snag free dressing experience. It is two layers, the top is guaze and the bottom is a satin. It's a lovely blue color and looks fabulous on Marisol. I love love love the headpiece. It's cute and easy to put on. The shoes are cute but feel cheap. I like the armband and the coin necklace, but I wish AG would make their doll jewelry sturdier. I can see a kid - or me - breaking the necklace because it was next to impossible to get it on.

I have a picture of it at my AGDollResources site (see signature). Kit is modeling it.
We got the girl size version too. It looks adorable on. The girl version does not come with shoes or the armband. It also zips up the back instead of snapping.

I love the Grecian Princess Costume. You definitely get your money's worth with this set. I really like the choice of color that are used for the gown. The jewelry, the headband and the shoes are great. The only part that I have had issues with would have to be the armband. That little guy does not want to stay on because it is a bit too big for their arms. Of the most recent costumes, this would have to be my favorite. I give this costume an A+.

This set includes a dress, crown, armband, necklace, sandals, treat bag and stickers. American Girl really took seriously the problem of velcro snagging outfits with this, there is no regular velcro on it, just snaps and non-snag velcro. The dress is spectacular, it is a wrap style in aqua blue satin with painted on gold Greek square patterns on the hem that go around the entire dress, light aqua blue gauze drapings on the top and a darker aqua blue pleated overskirt that also goes all the way around the dress. It snaps together at the sides and the belt has a little bit of non-snag velcro. I was very impressed at all the detail in the dress and happy that it fit my PM doll. The crown is a stiff gold headband with a movable trim over it that is trimmed in gold coloured coins. It looks beautiful but it is too small for my dolls to wear it the way they are supposed to, poor Kaya had a few strands of hair ripped out by it. The armband is a bit of gauze with gold embroidery to match the hem of the dress, and fastens with non-snag velcro. I have no problems with it being too loose on my PM Felicity, but it does slide down Kaya's arm. The necklace is two strands of gold chain with 3 small gold coins on it, it fastens with a hook and ring. The sandals are gold pleather trimmed with more of the small gold coins down the strap in front and fasten with non-snag velcro, the right sandal is too small for my PM Felicity's foot, I can get it on with some tugging, but it doesn't sit right. The treat bag is holographic silver paper with cord handles and the stickers are some basic Halloween things (ghosts, bats etc.). A-

My daughter got the girl-sized version of this outfit at a thrift store, so of course she had to have one for her doll to match. As others have indicated, you really got a lot for your money with this outfit. It will not fit the chubbier PM dolls at all, but otherwise fits well and despite its flowiness, has held up well to play. Sadly, we did manage to lose the armband somewhere along the way, but that's been the only casuality. Two shots of the outfit in its entirety, sans armband. You can see how the dress folds in on itself: Close-up of headband. I generally have trouble getting headbands to lay properly on my banged dolls' heads, and this one was no exception. It's not as tight as some of them, though. Just hard to postion them properly. I should add that the headband is meant to be worn differently than I am showing it here, but we were always worried that it would stretch out. Plus, it doesn't fit well over bangs that way. (Showing the Meg's Guide photo for comparison purposes) Still, it can be done: Close-up of necklace with 3 "Greek" coins: I think the shoes are fun and could be switched out with other outfits for a funky look: The entire outfit. While it's not something that would appeal to me as an adult collector, I got it at the request of my then-8 year old daughter and she really likes it a lot. Taking fit, value for the money, looks, playability, and durability into account, I have to give this set a solid A. Bonus: we've got the whole Grecian costume thing going on here:

I love love LOVE this outfit! I think it is very well-made and detailed, and I want one for myself! (Sadly, AG never made them in women's sizes... As others have said before, AG took pains to make this dress so that the velcro wouldn't snag it. It has snaps instead of velcro, with the exception of a half inch of it at the belt. The coins add such a great touch, though I am missing the arm band and the bag. Here are some pics to give a better idea of what it looks like. The whole outfit: Close-up of the cute little sandals and the key pattern around the end of the dress: Close-up of the necklace and headband (which was tight on Jess's head:) All in all, I give this dress an A!
