This outfit was on sale for some ridiculous amount ($10?) for the longest time, and pieces of it showed up for a while afterward at MCM and the Outlet. I gather it was never particularly popular and so they couldn't even give it away? That's too bad because I'm quite fond of it. I mean, a spider witch? That's weird enough to be brilliant. At least it was something unusual and not another mermaid or princess outfit; those have their place, but unique is good IMO.
Anyway, the outfit consists of a polyester knit layered dress with attached collar and mittens; spider legs that attach with a hook to the back of the outfit; fishnet stockings; plain black patent shoes; spider necklace; purple ponytail thingy; re-usable eye decals; and a treat bag with stickers.
The dress by itself is pretty cool. You can wear the collar up or down, although I prefer up. The velcro matches the dress color, but it can snag easily. The fishnet stockings are to die for, although of course they snag rather easily and look a little funny on stocky doll legs. The eye stickers are definitely re-usable and fit pretty well on doll eyes without harming the vinyl.
And here's Kreepy Kirsten in it wearing the eye decals a different way:
It was really hard for me to get this outfit to photograph properly. The eye decals are actually a different shade of purple, not red.
Because the outfit can snag easily and the stockings are fragile, I have to take points off. But given the value for the money, overall playability, and the fact that its stretchy material allows it to fit and look good on dolls from all the manufacturing eras, it still gets an A from me.
But then, I like the unusual and silly.
