Released in 2006, retired in 2008.
What fun Emily will have swooshing down a snowy hill on her sled! Features a pull rope, red metal runners, and a steering column that moves back and forth. Includes trading cards.I got this for Christmas for Inky. First of all, it's visually very appealing. I love how you can actually move the crossbar. It looks just like the Flexible Flyer sled I had as a child. I took out in the snow for the first time today. When I put it on an incline, it immediately slid down to the bottom- it works very well in that regard! In order to pose my dolls with it, I had to push it into the snow a bit in order to prevent it from sliding away. When I went to put Inky on it, it was almost impossible. The rope isn't long enough for the dolls to hold if they are sitting on the sled. Plus, the dolls can't sit up easily on the sled without falling over. Placing the dolls on their tummies on the sled is also near impossible. Appearance: A Utility: C- Overall: B- Photos follow Sledding null

The sled does not have plastic. It is metal and wood.

Emily’s Wooden Sled Item# UWA $40 "What fun Emily will have swooshing down a snowy hill on her sled! Once the war started, metal was scarce, so Emily makes do with one of the McIntyres’ old sleds. It features a pull rope, red metal runners, and a steering column that moves back and forth. W: 8 3/4" x L: 18" x D: 3 1/4". " We got this sled this week while it's on clearance for $24. Well worth that price. Better get it before it retires. Fun stuff. The cross bar does move back and forth like a real sled, but it doesn't turn the runners at all. It's just for show. The rope is too short to hold onto. The sled is made of metal and wood and very well constructed. We love it. Now if we could just have snow. Grade B Lindsey and the Wooden Sled (size comparison)

Will it work well for Bitty twins? I want to get one for bitty twins. It's only $15 now.

Will it work well for Bitty twins? I want to get one for bitty twins. It's only $15 now. Since the Bittys have to lay down or lean against something, it might be hard for them to ride the sled. But it is a good size for them and at $15 the price is a great deal. The sled is so well constructed and a fun item to have.

This piece has a very hefty feel to it in my opinion. It seems like a sturdy piece that would be very kid friendly.

My girls have been having a lot of fun with Emily's sled this winter. I got mine off Ebay for just under retail. I love everything about it except for the fact that the rope is too short. I wanted to take a picture of Kirsten pulling the sled while Molly sat on it, but that didn't work due to the short rope. Other than that it's awesome! This sled is too cute and I love that it is wood and metal. It definitely works for Kirsten's era and the fact that kitties or small dogs can ride on it is a bonus.
