I absolutely love this doll! Everything about her is stunning! From the top of her pretty arburn highlighted sausage curls to her adorable little black boots. Her curls are more textured than my #26's curls but still silky. They stay in place after braiding, they just need to be redone. I use the technique shown in a youtube video a board member pointed out, it works fine for me. I think I got a pretty good picture of Cécile with her highlights while I was outside this morning. Her hair is a more black color with the reddish brown highlights all over. I've never seen Jess in person, but I'd assume that their hair colors are very similar. In person, her highlights are more pronounced IMO. Cécile's skin is indeed a golden brown and it is definitely lighter than my Addy's and darker than Kanani and #26's skin tones. Her meet outfit is gorgeous and the silk is so soft and stunning on her. I love the black faux velvet trim on her dress and the little rosettes . Her pantaloons are adorable too. They are fancier than my Addy's and I really like them. This may be my favorite meet outfit that is currently available. (Besides Addy's.) So her meet outfit gets a solid A from me. Addy is in serious trouble because Cécile looks especially gorgeous in her clothes!!! Overall Cécile is a fantastic doll and worth every single penny! I must say that Cécile is one of those dolls that just gets more and more beautiful the longer you have her. I particular love the coloring of her wig. The dark brown with auburn highlights is the perfect compliment to her electric green eyes. They are however easy to snag on the velcro closings of her outfits when changing, so be careful to push her hair aside when redressing her but if that happens her curls are very easy to reshape with a dab of water and the twirl of your finger. Her outfit is very well made with accordion pleating in the front accented with a black velvet "V" collar. The material is a nice mid weight satin and the puff sleeves are lined with a white cotton fabric to prevent fraying. I love her!

I received my Cécile as a surprise today! Others have done better pictures, but I did want to mention how high-quality I find the meet dress itself. The material feels quite nice and it is well sewn, but I particularly like that the little puffed sleeves are lined! This helps them keep their shape and avoids an unattractive hem.

I am totally digging on Cécile. I was so hoping she would have the Sonali mold, mostly because I already have a hazel-eyed #26 and I would have had a hard time justifying the purchase if Cécile was another Addy mold. Instead, she is her own sweet self: P9037913 by norasroom, on Flickr P9037918 by norasroom, on Flickr Cécile has warm chocolate brown skin. She is noticeably darker than my #26, which is currently my only other doll of color. Her hair comes in sausage curls, vs. the tighter ringlets of #26. I found them to be somewhat "crunchy" or crisp in texture, which may change over time. They were beautiful right out of the box and I have not styled her hair yet. There are definitely some reddish highlights. P9037926 by norasroom, on Flickr Cécile also has pin-curls right at the hairline in front. Six in all, three on each side, just exactly like my #21. These were a little frizzy but fell right into shape with a spritz of water and a finger-curl. P9037920 by norasroom, on Flickr I really struggled to get the lighting right for her eyes but this photo totally doesn't do her justice: P9037929 by norasroom, on Flickr The camera wants to bring out the green but in real life they're more subtle hazel, not neon at all. Her meet dress is very nice. It's made from a silky-feeling synthetic material with some sheen to it. It seems like it has the potential to snag. The short puffed sleeves have elastic to go over her hands and are fully lined, which is a nice touch. Her meet shoes are black matte-finish pleather with brass-finish "buttons" on the faux side placket. The shoes close in the back with velcro. Her socks seem like they'll hold up, white and ribbed, mid-calf-length. I'm inordinately pleased that her pantalets use a different trim than Marie-Grace's. P9037933 by norasroom, on Flickr P9037934 by norasroom, on Flickr I look forward to taking more pictures of this lovely doll. Grade: A++

I saw the Cécile doll yesterday at AGPNY and I must say I was taken aback by just how lovely she is. I say this because I was never particularly fond of the Sonali mold. But she is a gorgeous girl and so are all of her items, I mean there was nothing that I did not like. For the first time since becoming involved with AG, I find myself seriously considering collecting for a Historical (I've been a modern girl to date). She definitely gets an A+

Stunning! This is my Harriet, the Doll Formerly Known As Cécile. My Harriet's wig is gorgeous and so soft, right out of her box.

Cécile Rey One word: Magnifique!
Hair ~ Even though I am African American and deal with all types of synthetic and human hair I was worried by all of the comments on AGPT. From what I can tell, it's best left alone but I don't think it's unmanageable. It's super soft and makes her look so dressed up.
Meet Dress ~ It's such a lovely shade and I really like the contrast of the black velvet. I thought she wouldn't need her crinoline but now that I see the way her skirt falls I may cave in and get it. Shoes ~ Nice but I think Cécile could use a few more pairs.
Skin Tone ~ Beautiful warm skin tone similar to my own. I put her next to Addy to see the difference. Addy's skin is a much richer brown. I also posed her next to Josefina for comparison.
Overall A+ but wouldn't she look stunning with earrings!

Ahhh where to start with Cécile? I anxiously stared out the window all day waiting for the mailman to appear and low and behold he had her box!! And oh my! Is she ever beautiful!! Her skin tone is probably the most beautiful color I've ever seen, and her hair is stunning, the dark brown with auburn mixed in makes her look good in any lighting. The outfit is so pretty, that dark blue compliments her perfectly and her boots are adorable! As our her little socks and long pantaloons.
My only trouble is my Cécile seems to be quite sparse in the hair department, she doesn't appear to have the huge amount of curls that show in photos. I am still unsure on how to fix it as I do not want to mess up her hair. Maybe taking out the hair ties and "fluffing" the hair will make it look fuller and more like her online photo.
All in all, Cécile is beautiful and I give her a resounding A+! I'll add some photos tomorrow when I have better light, overcast skies were on the agenda today. Boo.

She is absolutely stunning. A must have for any historical collector. The only thing I can complain is her hair. It gets a tad bit frizzy and her sausage curls can look a bit uneven sometimes. These little things though are not enough to give her a A-. I give her an A.

I love Cécile. She is I think one of the most stunning dolls EVER! My list of dolls that I love include Kanani, #26 and Kaya. I think Cécile is the love child of these three dolls. The sweetness of Kaya, the curls and beauty of #26 and the beauty of Kanani's eyes and skin combination - only better. Here's a picture of my Cécile (whom I acquired from Katiesch) in Felicity's Tea gown and hat (from Capt Syd). I think her hair is playable and easy to maintain - spritz and finger curling when it gets wild. She just seems to draw you into her. I give her as a doll an A+. I can't comment on her meet outfit because I got her naked.

Cécile is tres magnifique! I love this little dolly! I was worried, admittedly, that her hair would be hard to care for- not so! They are soft, and EASY. Just a spritz and twirl and you're good to go! I also adore Cécé's meet dress. The material is lovely, the dress feels so rich. Her stories are also AMAZING, I love how they bring C MG and NOLA to life. Doll: A+++ Hair: A+ Dress: A+ Love her!

Cécile is even more gorgeous in person than online. I was worried about her hair in the beginning, but it's really not hard to work with at all. Her meet dress is beautiful, too. Even though it's historical, my modern dolls are probably going to end up fighting over it.

A couple weeks ago I ordered and received a Cécile doll, and I was concerned when I noticed a significant gap in her neck. After much debating, I finally called CS about the concern last week, and they sent a second doll and a shipping label, saying I could compare the dolls and send back the one I did not want. When I received the new Cécile, her neckline was significantly better than the first doll, but I immediately noticed a difference in the hair style of the two dolls. This is not really a concern but just an observation, as there is nothing wrong with the hair on either dolls. The original doll I received has looser curls more like ringlets, while the second doll has the tighter sausage curls. First Doll:tight ringlet curls 10.5 in waist (this seems to be the average size waist of my dolls) nicely shaped, even eyes Neck gap Slightly shorter than 2nd doll Second Doll:Sausage curls 10 in waist Good eyes, but not quite as nice/even as the first doll Smaller neck gap Slightly taller/seems to appear just a bit older than the first doll (maybe just my opinion!) Our Cécile has tight ringlet curls and I prefer her. Her eyes are so stunning and the tight curls look amazing on her and are different from our other dolls styles. We purchased ours on the release date.

I ordered and received my Cécile a few months ago. (February) She looks much more like your first Cécile. However, I would swear that my doll's ringlets are even tighter. I prefer the tighter curls, but that is just a personal preference. I am considering buying a #26 and her hair would be more like your second doll's hair, so it would be nice for me to have a variety.

When i went to AGPlace while my niece was visiting, I had a chance to take a good look at some of the Cécile dolls there. It struck me immediately that there were two distinct looks, in terms of the faces. One Cécile definitely had eyes closer together than the other. I thought it was quite a striking difference. I did not look for differences in the hair curls. My Cécile has perfect well formed sausage links for curls. No neck gap at all but and a face very much like your first Cécile.

My Cécile looks more like your first Cécile - definitely ringlets, not sausage curls. Personally, I prefer the ringlets, so I'm glad of that.
That said, hair style is the easiest thing to change. Sausage curls can be restyled into ringlets and vice versa. So I wouldn't make the choice of which to keep on that basis. I would decide based on the things that can't be changed very easily.

I have had two different heads on my Cécile. My first, was an early doll, before the 25% off sale. She had the looser curls, 2 pincurls on each side and the sides of her hair on either side of her part swooped down. I had her ears pierced on April 2nd, and they messed up her ears. I was offered a new immediately, but my body is signed , so I got a new head (I was very upset, but the holes were awful). The new head I chose has 3 pin curls on each side, tighter curls, and her hair is straight across her forehead. I swear her wig is thicker and fuller. Both heads were/are beautiful, but there is a difference in the wigs. My first Cécile with 2 pincurls on each side, less curly hair. My second Cécile with 3 pincurls per side, tighter curls. I'm glad someone raised ths issue since I definitely noticed it.

My SIL in law and I had a Cécile & Marie-Grace comparison 10 days ago. I noticed that not only are the molds a little different but so are the skin tones. I hope the pictures show the differences. I didn't really pay any attention to the hair but after looking at the pictures there is some difference but not much. SIL's Cécile is in the floral green dress, mine is in the green/brown dress.

Cécile is such a beauty! I have quite a few dolls, and not all of them make me gasp when I lift the box lid the way Cécile did. I love the auburn highlights in her hair combined with the pretty hazel eyes. I love her meet dress and I'm thankful that it's not the cheap, nasty feeling material of Felicity Traveling and Christmas gowns. I'd buy the outfit separately if it wasn't her meet. When I saw Sonali at AGPLA and when I saw C&M-G at B&N while they were having the drawing, the Sonali mold was cute but it didn't do too much for me... somehow on my Cécile, it's just lovely and perfect. She seems to get prettier every time I look at her. So glad I got her! Definite A+! Skin tone comparison with PM Addy and #26. In person, I'd say she's between the two. Curl comparison with #26. Granted this isn't the best pic because Ashley's hair had been in pigtails and I forgot to fix it, but you can see the curls are a bit different. Cécile's are a bit longer and are nice even sausage curls. Ashley's are a bit shorter and more like corkscrew curls. They're not as uniform.

Today for my birthday I received Cécile and her accessories. She is breath-taking beautiful, but....I was disappointed with the fabric in her meet dress. The satin fabric seemed too "wimpy" for the heavy velvet trim in her skirt. I know that can be solved with the crinoline set that AG sells, but can't help thinking that the quality of the satin fabric is lacking. Does anyone else have issues with this fabric?

I threw Cécile's hair ito two ponys just now. Just my opinion, but she is as cute as a whole PACK of buttons. (She's naked under that raincoat, eh heh heh.) And for general spammage purposes, here's Cécile as a Regency girl:
