Cécile is so gorgeous, and I just love her hair. I received mine from my grandma just after C & MG were released, in September 2011. I give the doll and outfit an A+. 040 by Livducks, on Flickr

My Special Offer Cécile arrived and she herself is absolutely gorgeous! Her hair seems shorter and less full than I expected but still very pretty. I have two issues with her: her legs are extremely floppy (that shouldn't happen with a brand new doll!) and her meet dress just sort of hangs off of her because she is the thinnest doll I have ever seen...even thinner than my MG. (I have an AG Molly and McKenna for comparison and they are slim but not skinny!!!!!). The pleats on my Cécile's bodice are not quite right either. Otherwise, she is gorgeous and her accessories are amazing.

My Cécile was also Special Offer. I was on the fence about getting her before I heard about the sale, but I am so, so glad I did! This is a truly lovely doll! The sausage curls, the hazel decal eyes--and the Sonali mold suits her very well. Mine has a sewn part, but that's hardly worth fussing about when you get such a beauty for that incredible SALE PRICE~ Her dress is the quality level I expected, and is absolutely gorgeous and flawless in every way. It doesn't hurt that I'm a sucker for just about every shade of blue. The black velvet accents and ribbon roses add just the right amount of detail without looking weird, and those darling little pantalettes peeking out at the bottom bring the whole ensemble that sweet schoolgirl charm. The boots are the usual faux, but well-done. This is PC-level attention to detail here, folks. Lovely doll, lovely outfit. I'd recommend Cécile to anyone (although, she really does look much better with her accessories and crinoline). A+ I love her meet dress and I'm thankful that it's not the cheap, nasty feeling material of Felicity Traveling and Christmas gowns. Did Felicity's Christmas gown change during the Mattel switchover? Because I have a PM gown and find it quite nice. Granted, it's showing its age (missing cap, necklace, and pearl stomacher, ribbon has mostly faded to purple), but the fabric quality is certainly worlds better than the Marie-Grace meet! I've heard this complaint a lot since I joined, and it just doesn't seem to jive with my experience.

So, in light of Cécile's retirement, I had no choice but to order her. She arrived today, and I am crazy about her. I wanted to make sure to do another review in the hopes of swaying anyone else who might be on the fence. Doll: 10/10. Cécile is my first African-American doll, and I just love the cocoa color of her skin and those piercing hazel eyes. Her face paint is so pretty! Her cheeks are blushed, but not bright pink, and her lips are a more muted raspberry color than the lighter skin tones use. I love it. Hair: 10/10. Obviously, this is probably not who I'd choose for my 8-year-old's first doll, but for someone with experience handling doll hair, I think it's going to be really nice! My Cece came with the more loose ringlets, which I was hoping for, so I'm very, very happy with it. It's silky and soft and shot through with lots of rosy mahogany. Illustrated in Caroline's meet, just to prove how pretty she looks in anything she puts on: *mod edit to delete dead image links throughout review* Meet dress: 8/10. The fabric is soft and silky, and much more pronounced than it looked in pictures. The little pleats in her bodice are a really nice touch. The only points I could see for deduction was that it's, as others have stated, quite thin, and I'm not sure how much child's play it would hold up to. My Cécile has the narrower face, but after much scrutiny, I've decided it's not narrow enough to bother me. She's also pigeon-toed and has a slight right-favoring head tilt. I think it makes her sweet. And oh, my goodness, does this girl look good in everything. Absolutely everything. Here, she wandered back to 2013 and borrowed Saige's balloon dress. The gold is particularly striking with her coloring! Overall, I would recommend this beauty 100%. If you're thinking you might want her, even a little bit, I'd say to get her. You won't be disappointed. Last note: Cécile is really, really tall. Like, a whole head taller than my MG, Harper. She'll be modern, too, and join Harper in her world, though she'll be keeping her name. Here they are together, just a couple more pictures. I love her! (Also, I apologize for the terrible quality. My camera died, and I'm having to make do with my cell until I can afford to replace it.)

We love Cécile. She was the first doll I bought for myself and Dd stole her. Dd adores hers and has lots of fun with her in all time era's.

My Cécile is a modern girl. I got her in 2012, when I was only 11, so I eventually did send her into the doll hospital for a new head. Her wig is my favorite of the "natural curl" wigs that AG makes. The pin-curls are just adorable, and can be accurate for modern-day Black girls as well. Her auburn highlights are beautiful. I do like that she has hazel eyes: sometimes it bothers me that AG tries to make their Black and Brown characters more "interesting" by giving them *typically* white features, but Cécile is the only dark-skinned doll with non-brown eyes to the best of my knowledge, so I'm not too bothered at all. http://instagram.com/p/CAvNe4usAy1 http://instagram.com/p/B_D7zEOh1IR

I got to see a friend's Cécile and wow she is a lovely doll. Her eyes are so pretty and her hair has reddish highlights. I love the extra little tendrils by her face.
