This outfit is worn by Marie-Grace in the book Marie-Grace and the Orphans.
Marie-Grace chooses this lovely outfit for summertime in New Orleans: A pink-and-green checked taffeta dress inspired by real fashions of the 1850s, with a triple-tiered skirt and satin ribbon accents. A wide-brimmed hat, trimmed with a matching taffeta ribbon. Pink-and-white boots with button details for the finishing touch.
So pretty! Since AG didn't give her a birthday outfit, I think this will be Cécile's. The hat has a nude elastic band to hold it on. Of course, it's not nude on Cécile. I found it tight and hard to get on. Since I really just display my dolls, I won't use it. I thought I'd have to use Cécile's ribbons with it, but MG's nicely pick up the darker pink of the thin lines in the pattern.
When I first saw the dress online, I though it was a lot like MG's meet dress - pink plaid with pink things coming down from the shoulders. But I don't think they look very similar at all IRL. They have very different "feels."
Overall, A.
ETA: Oh, and I think this is the first of their outfits whose neckline really works with their chemise.

I do not own Marie-Grace, but here is my #26 modeling the dress, hat and boots. She is wearing Addy's undies and cream socks from Addy's Birthday Dress. The dress is very cute and I personally like pink. The dress is very spring like with its soft shades of pink and green. I do like the chin strap on the hat. I did find the bodice was a bit tight on my doll when fastening the velcro. I bought the dress for Addy as a dress for her that Harriet had "outgrown", but I do not think my PM Addy is going to be able to fit.

I loved this dress from the moment I saw it. When I saw it yesterday, I was in love. The colors are soft and pretty. Plus the hat and shoes makes it all the better. This dress is very well made and I love the fabric. AG did a great job with this dress.

I bought this along with Cécile's summer dress so I can't help but compare/contrast them. Of the two, this one wins hands down. The fabric is better, the styling is prettier, and I'm reassured from the pics above that it will look great on my Cécile (I don't have M-G). I wish AG had done better for Cécile herself but I'm glad to have this for her.

Marie Grace's new dress is absolutely gorgeous! The bodice with the little buttons marching down the front, the flounced skirt, the swishy taffeta, the floating ribbons. It's a winner all the way around. The hat is versatile, boots very cute. So glad I bought it!

I am so happy I purchased this dress for my PM Samantha. The bodice is a little tight on her but it closes. The boots are soft and slip on and off easily with the hidden velcro in the back. The hat is darling. I was worried that the elastic strap might be too tight, but it isn't. My Samantha looks like a movie star from a period piece in it. Just beautiful. I am happier with this outfit than any I have purchased from AG in a long time. I did purchase the crinoline and chemise and love how the crinoline makes the skirt stand out. Samantha loves the dress so much she won't take it off but she has let the other AG girls try on the hat and they all look precious in it. A+ from me.

I really like this dress. Yes, it is a synthetic taffeta but to me it feels just right & the weight & drape are good. Shown here with Cécile wearing her crinoline under it. I think it really needs the crinoline to make the petaled skirt stand out. Cécile looks like a Spring flower in it, doesn't she? As a bonus, the crinoline's soft pink looks great with the dress when you peek at it. The boots are very soft & sweet too. The hat is okay & can probably be worn with other dresses as well. Dress & Boots A+, Hat B

MG's summer outfit is ADORABLE! The fabric of the dress has a nice feel to it, not thin and nasty like Cécile's the hat is actually better than it looks in the pics online. It really looks like a straw hat, though I'm sure it's not straw. The boots are adorable. VERY pleased w/ this one. DD is gonna love it, A+

The dress is very pretty and I love the shoes and hat. While I only plan to use it for display, it is nice that the hat comes with elastic to hold in on during play. This outfit is a solid A for me!

This is a gorgeous outfit. In the AG stock photos, I like Cécile's better, but in person this one is leaps and bounds above the other dress in quality as well as appeal. It looks perfect on Cécile. I love the hat (which she has already worn with a different outfit), and the boots are also really sweet. Really glad I got this outfit! A

Beautiful photos. I think this dress design is gorgeous with the three tiers and the bows down the front. It looks perfect for warm summer days.
