In 2004, Hallmark and AG introduced a series of charms for each of the AGs. They are small, silver and enamel charms of portraits of the girls, similar to the "Picture Frames." They came in a sweet little gift box attached to a short burgundy ribbon. There was a charm bracelet offered that you could put them on, or they can go on a necklace.
I have the Kit one. The portrait is 5/8 in tall. The box they come in is 3 1/4 in tall. There is a flap in the front that you can open like a book. When open, one side has a blurb about the girl while the other has a cut-out through which you can see the charm. The inside is classic AG burgundy.
The back of the box also has a small blurb about the girl. There is also an AG classic logo and copywright information and stuff.
I almost didn't buy this, but I decided I needed to have everything Hallmark made for my Kit and Kaya collections, so I ended up doing so. I think I paid $3 for it, which is a good price. I'd pay up to $5 for the charm. I don't wear it because I'm afraid of losing it, but since it's tarnish-resistant (read: sterling silver or stainless steel), I might eventually get a chain to wear it as a necklace. It is pretty cute.
I have the Grace charm, so this is what my pictures will be of.
Like the portrait charms, these are tarnish-resistant. They're silver so they're probably sterling or stainless steel.
The Grace charm has a decent weight to it and is about an 1/2in tall.
The inside of the box flap has an excerpt from Happy Birthday, Kit! while the back tells us who Grace is.
I love how tiny the sculpt is, and cute. I'm not as partial to the pet charms as I am to the portrait charms, but I think they make a neat addition to a collection - or the charm bracelet Hallmark sold, especially if the other pet charms were there, too.
I would pay up to $6 for this.
A- (because I think the pets are slightly boring without the girl counterparts, but it's well done and lovely)
All 8 of the original Historical characters are represented along with their respective pets.
These charms are well made, detailed and, substantial for their size. Once you get them on the bracelet it's a bit heavy, but not so heavy that you wouldn't want to wear it. We love that each charm is detailed enough that you can definitely tell which girl is which and what she's wearing, along with any accessories she might be holding. The pet charms are a bit larger in comparison, but they still are very well done.
From left to right: Kaya, Steps High, Felicity, Penny, Josefina, Sombrita, Kirsten, Missy, Addy, Sunny, Samantha, Jip, Kit, Grace, Molly and Bennett
I have Addy's portrait charm, an Addy figurine charm, Grace the dog, and Missy the cat. I like these charms a lot. I got them half-price after the Hallmark AG line was retired. The Grace charm is my favorite. It's really cute. The boxes the charms come in look nice on a doll's book shelf. Almost like historical book series boxed-sets. I think Hallmark's AG products were wonderful.

I've finally acquired all of the Hallmark Character & Pet Charms! The charms are a bit heavy, so I thought it best to have them on two different bracelets. Also the bracelet is only about 6 inches long so a bit snug if you have wide wrists.
(Sorry, not in order. I may change that at some point)
