I have been on the fence about this set for quite some time. I decided the sale price of $35 along with the free shipping code made it just about the right price for me to take a chance on.
It arrived today. It is very cute and seems very sturdy, for the most part. It did seem more like a "toy" than many of the other AG items I have seen. I think it is well worth the $35 price tag, with free shipping- but I am not so sure I would want it at full price.
It is a beautiful shade of blue, though honestly, I have never seen a blue bathtub. The "knobs" for the water are odd, and seem kind of.. well, cheap? They remind me of the old Christmas lights with flanges around the base. I believe these could become broken easily. The little tray to hold the bath beads seems oddly out of place permanently mounted on the tub.
The bathbeads are not a molded pile, as I suspected, but are actually beads threaded onto a bracelet sized strand. The little shampoo and bubblebath bottles seem really small, but they are so cute! I love the little scrub brush. The book, like all AG mini books, is terrific. The tray that goes over the tub is pretty, and looks like it would serve it purpose well.
The tub seems to come with plenty of bubbles, though I admit we have not actually tried it out yet. The bubbles are nice and solid and seem like they will hold up very well to play.
All in all, it is a really cute set. Not amazing, but very cute. I do think it has a lot of play value, and I expect we will get a lot of enjoyment out of the set.
Currently, I plan to save the set for a gift at a later time. If I can sneak it out, I will add photos to this review.
