These are made of metal and are very simple. They are a "big" item but really do not take up much room. THey are easy to set up and take apart and store well. They come with two black and white striped mattresses and two black and whit striped pillows. Bedding was never made for these beds, instead you could unzip one of the black, doll sized sleeping bags that were manufactured the same year and make two comforters. The bed also has a ladder that can be moved around to different places on the bed. While not the prettiest set AG ever made, I think it has a lot of playability and is very easy to store. My girls love this bed and it sees a lot of sleeping dolls. Grade A for playability Grade B- for looks and quality. This bed seems kind of messy today. I guess the girls forgot to make it up after they got up for the day!

Despite the hideous color combinations, I think these bunk beds have held up amazingly well and are among the better-made products in the AGOT/JLY line. They go together very easily, as the photos below show. I give them a B overall. They'd have gotten an A if it weren't for the inexplicable bumblebee color motif. An end support: Bottom bed slides into tabs on end supports: Ladder hooks onto top bunk: The whole thing with striped bedding:

I just got these bunks this past year. I love them. And I toned down the bunks by using the sheets and spreads from the Yellow Trundle. Very pretty. You get two sheets with this set you can make a bottom and top sheet to fold back with the spread. Here is a pic of the top bunk. i25.photobucket.com/albums/c58/bgeurtz/Spring001.jpg *oversized image embed removed*

I figured I'd toss in a couple of my own pictures with the bunkbeds in them.... I got these in 1996 I think, and they have held up great being pulled apart and packed away through several cross country moves. I'm really not crazy about the color scheme anymore, but I'm working on something different... The dolls don't mind though. We usually use the reverse side of the sleeping bag/comforter. The bottom bunk is usually filled with mini dolls and other amusements.

I would give this item a A-, it is great if you don't mind the colors and lack of bedding. It has with stood many years of play.

Having gotten this used, I've noticed that one of the metal mattress supports has broken off (lower bunk), but it doesn't stop this bed from being a good one. It has obviously stood many years of play and looks like it has many more to go. I actually love the color (it's not pink!) because I had this "yellow obsession" when I was a little girl. My room was yellow, for crying out loud! The bedding isn't the best, but I would love to find the AG logo sleeping bag to go with it someday. For now, I've put my pretty, pale yellow doll blankets on the bunks. I love the cute little ladder as well and how cute the girls look posing on it... Grade: A

My Daughter got the bunk beds along with the bedding for her birthday this past Summer. She and the dolls seem to really be enjoying them. Even our cats like to take turns sleeping on the bottom bunk. The color scheme is not the best, but they are very durable. I was worried the metal poles would mark the wood floors, but they come with little plastic "caps" on them.

Great value, super sturdy, easy to set up, and overall amazing. I love that they are so basic, as then they can be styled with different sheets or pillows, not to mention stuffed animals! Two dolls fit nicely; the best value for AG beds, as they're two beds for the price of one!
Height reference
Two dolls laying down
I don't have a lid for Kirsten's Trunk, and I don't have enough floor space either. Elevated bunk beds!

I always think of this set as the "Los Angeles County Jail Bunk Bed Set." This is the one piece of AG stuff that I truly dislike. My daughter and her friends, on the other hand, love it! I don't know if it is the whole bunk bed thing or the sleeping bag thing, but they adore this piece. The one thing that I am grateful for is that is can be taken apart very easily and put back together quickly and if you have to move it for a quick vacuum, it is very light and easy to handle.
