Okay, so I was a bit sneaky and just called the hotel (concierge) and asked them if I could buy an AG bed. Of course, they said YES! It was $30 (plus tax and shipping) It folds in the center, just like the flip chair. The blanket is satin on one side and cotton on the other (to represent sheets AND a cover) The pillow is the only part that says American Girl, although all parts are tagged just like other AG products. The bed measures 18 1/2" long, 8" wide when laying out. It's 10" over all length when folded up.

Thank you for the review. I did have a few questions: How long ago did you order the bed? Which hotel did you call? Do you remember how much the tax and shipping was? Thanks!

I just received the bed on Tuesday this week. I called last Friday. I called the Wyndham Hotel in Chicago. Tax was $2.78. Shipping hasn't been billed yet, because that's coming directly from DHL, so I've no idea on that part.
ETA: I got the shipping bill from DHL: $23! YIKES! That's quite a bit for a foam bed that hardly weighs anything. But they did ship two day priority DHL which could be the reason for the high cost. Maybe if you call you could suggest a slower, cheaper method?

My daughter and I stayed at a NYC hotel that featured the full AG package, but I did not feel the value of that package was worth the cost. I did inquire about purchasing the bed separately and the concierge couldn't have been nicer about it. The bed cost $28 plus tax. I admit I had second thoughts about the price, because it is after all just a bunch of foam, cotton, and satin. But my daughter loves this thing so much. She actually keeps it in her bed beside her pillow so her doll can sleep on it, which works out well since it is so soft. So yay for play, er, sleep value. When extended, the doll has about an half inch of foot room at the end of the bed. The body of the bed is a soft velour-like material. The fuchsia colors are all satin. My one complaint about the piece is that because the headboard is just foam, it leans back after a while. That's rather a nuisance if you want to use this as a chair, because the doll doesn't have anything sturdy to sit against. I'm not sure how well it really works as a chair any way though, because it is quite thick when all folded up. But it would have been nice to have more reinforcement for the head board; even a sturdier foam would have worked. Still, it's a pretty piece and it is a nice souvenir of a special mother-daughter trip. Grade B+ for price and head board. Folded up: Extended: (Sorry about intrusive kitten above. He was annoyed that I was taking photos during his nap, and came over to investigate and register feline disdain.)

I bought it at the AG Atlanta Marriott for $18 plus tax.

The price of the American Girl Package at the Hilton Garden in Alpharetta, GA was $99 which included the AG bed and other AG goodies as well as a complete, made-to-order breakfast for four ($9.95 value each person) at the hotel restaurant.
