Mia Doll & Paperback Book $90 Form the site: Mia has long red hair, green eyes, and pretty freckles. Her hair is layered, the back of her hair looks like how #27's hair is cut. The red in her hair is more to a blond then brown and it is lighter then Emily's. She's a very pretty doll and I just love her she's so pretty. I give Mia an A Mia's Meet outfit (from the site) ~A zip-top turtleneck sweater with thumbholes and printed gray snowflake ~A heather-gray jersey skirt with corduroy yoke, embroidery, and sequins ~Star-print underwear ~Light pink tights ~Blue high-top sneakers with pink laces The sweater is nice and I like the hand hole things, i'm not sure if the snowflake would hold up with washing because it's not sewen on. Other then that it's really cute Sweater: A Her grey skirt is super cute!! The only thing is it might be a little tight it was a bit hard taking it off the sequins seem like they could fall off if you're to rough with it other then that it's really nice and cute Skirt: B Her underwear has 3 little stars on the side and is blue, the pink tights are nice and they are not thin you can also use them for other outfits, Her shoes are super cute and slide on and off pretty easy (The shoes are a different shade of blue then the new warm up sweat suit for anyone wondering) Underwear, Tights and Shoes: A Pictures: Mia: Mia's Meet outfit:

I got my Mia on Monday, and I love her! She is so Cute!! She has beautiful long red hair, a little darker than Nellie's hair. I also love her little braid! She has gorgeous Green eyes! Her freckles are very cute, but very light. I give Mia an A+. Her meet outfit comes with(from the AG website)- -A zip-zop turtleneck sweater with thumbholes and a printed gray snowflake -A heather gray jersey skirt with corduroy yoke, embroidery, and sequins -Star-print underwear -Light pink tights -Blue high-top sneakers with pink laces The sweater is really cute and looks great on Mia! I love the thumbholes! A+ Her Gray skirt is really cute! It is very tight, but I haven't tried taking it off yet. The sequins could come off, but only if you are really rough. It is light and looks comfy. B+ Her underwear has 3 stars on it, and is blue, but I haven't got a good look of it yet. Her pink tights are So soft! I really like them and go with the outfit well. Her blue high-tops are cute, but I like her white skates a lot better with this outfit. I give the underwear, tights, and shoes an A. Here are some really cute pictures! Mia in her box Mia Mia's cute braid! Her cute sweater Her skirt with sequins and embroidery Her shoes And Mia with her new sisters Kit, Elizabeth, and Molly. ~Jessicaagfan

Mia's part in her hair is a bit zig-zag, somewhat like Jess's part. It's really cute though.

Mias HERE! My daughter got her for her 7th Birthday! She is ADORABLE! Her eyes are no where near Felicity's in case you are thinking(or comparing) so. Her Hair is beautiful and my daughter is just loving EVERYTHING about her...Even her shoes are easy to get on and off.. I also like the fact that her freckles are subtle and not too dark.Mia was a gift from her Granny and Aunt.Having a hard time deciding who is the fav LE now... Nicki or Mia!

I just got Mia today! She is my favorite doll by far : Pros: Her hair is gorgeous. I just love her highlights! I really like her freckles and her beautiful eyes as well. The outfit she came with is really cute. Cons: The shoes are kinda weird. They're cute and all, I think AG over did them a little bit. Her hair is a little bit hard to control. If it's not pinned to the side, it goes right in her face. Grade: A-

Mia arrived today - I LOVE HER! She is a gorgeous doll. For that I give her an A. I am definitely not in love with the pink sweater. I think the meet outfit is a little odd but the individual pieces will be cute separately with other outfits. I think the cutest part of her outfit is the way the sweater kind of mittens-over her hands. She will definitely be changing clothes very soon! lol I do love her 2-in-1 out fit - though I haven't ordered that yet. Her hair is thick - (reminds me of Felicity's - but NOT in color)... the color is stunning and unlike any other doll. The braid is VERY secure and thick, as well. Her eyes are gorgeous and deep deep hazel - I love the light freckles. And she has a one-up on Nicki - considering that she actually has UNDERWEAR!!! LOL

Claire arrived today.
- Hair is less red and intense than what I expected. Looks like Nellie's hair. But it is already night here, so it may look different in daylight. I like the hair's texture. It has a nice swing to it. Love the layered and angled cut. EDIT- in daylight, it does show that Mia's hair is a couple shades darker than Nellie's. - The freckles of my particular doll are VERY light. You can barely see them unless you look up close. They still add character. - Eyes are definitely hazel. Not super green like Felicity's, but still have a green tinge to them.
Doll is beautiful. I give her an A. The hair color seems misrepresented, hence I cannot give her the plus.
And here is a picture of my beautiful Claire. Keep in mind the pics were taken with my cell phone this morning.

My Mia is ssoooooooooo adorable. Grade: B+. Doll is adorable, and so is the outfit, but the cord on the hi-tops snapped. I'd give you pictures, but I don't know how.

Just want to add a nice close up shot I got of my Mia. I would give her an A. Her hair is super shiny and it falls nicely into place. Meet outfit is cute. Love the shoes and the skirt. The sequins are a nice touch. The whole outfit is exactly what a skater would wear. The tights seem like they would snag easily and already have small holes forming near the seams. So, the tights get a B, but Mia gets an A! (mod edit to remove broken image link)

Her eyes seem to be a lot more like a green than a hazel. Also, her hair is carroty blonde rather than red, in my opinion. The wig seems to be made from red, blonde, and absolutely YELLOW strands! Also, for anyone who really wonders, when the braid was done, they used a bit of hair from about an inch back in the wig to anchor it, so that it doesn't fly all over the place.
I really like the wig, though it's more blonde than I'd like (except in the sunlight this afternoon, it was rather coppery like a new penny). It's very thick and full and lies just lovely. The layering is mostly around her face, to give it a bit of style, but the back may also be, since it tends to curl a bit at the bottom (kind of like #23's hair, but not to such an extreme).
I think the jumper looks oodles better on #28 than on Mia, and the printed stuff feels really cheap. I wish it didn't have a "skate club" logo on the chest. :/
The underpants are nice, but they fit badly in the bum. Like they're always sliding around or something? I took them off after a few outfit changes and don't plan to use them again.

Some more comments on Mia's outfit: -- The skirt is difficult to pull on and off easily. Either this is because my doll has a chubby bum, or the corduroy waistband causes too much friction against the muslin body. Nonetheless, I think the skirt is kind of fugly. I'm having a difficult time finding shirts in my collection that go with it very well. This is the best one so far: -- The shirt has that thick, nasty velcro in the back. This might just be the factory, but I think it's dumb that they used the kind that snags easily with this type of sweater and Mia's hair. -- The decoration on the shirt is liable to peel off if you're not careful. In my previous post to this thread, I said it feels really cheap. Well, apparently it's just an iron-on transfer. Way to go with the quality, AG. : After barely two weeks here, I was neatening it to put it away and noticed that the edges weren't quite right and, yes indeed, the transfer was peeling up. So I removed the Skate Club logo and started on the snowflake. They both came off without any trouble at all and you can't tell that they were ever there - that is to say, removing the transfers didn't damage the shirt in any way. If you like the decals, do not pick at them at all! If you notice them starting to peel up, just don't touch them! On the other hand, if you want to remove them, by all means peel them off if you notice they've begun to already. --- KERI

Finally Mischa is mine! After finishing my tech theatre project which took forever, it seems, my roommate gave me Mischa. Mischa is a joint Christmas, bday and graduation gift from my roommate (she paid $50, I paid $40 during the free shipping last month). She's my GOTY lookalike. Mischa is so pretty! Her hair is definitely more strawberry blonde than red, to me. Mischa's hair is very thick (I think it's the thickest of all my AGs). The layers are cute. Her meet outfit is pretty cute. Her skirt is a bit tight though and the sweater has the graphics starting to peel. If it all peels, I'll probably take it off when I'm home. Other than the peeling, I like the sweater. The shoes are also pretty cute. The tights are alright but I think they might rip pretty easily if you're not careful with them. So all in all, I give the doll an A++++ and the meet outfit is a B+/B. *Modified review a bit.

I LOVE Mia! She was my first doll and WOW how cute! Her hair is a mixture of different reds, oranges, and some light blonds. Her hair is thick and easy to style. Her eyes are olive green, and she has pretty, tanish skin. Plus her freckles she is the cutest doll yet. Her sweater is a pretty shade of pink, but rather cheep. Her skirt is cute, but hard to get on. I love her high top shoes! She is my favorite doll ever. I wish they weren't going to retire her!

I LOVE my Mia, Ellie. Her hair is the prettiest shade of red, it's nowhere near as dark as Mattel Lissie's, but it's somewhat close to #21's. (I think they could be twins, actually, but I love Ellie more). It's not the same as Lucy's, either. (I just realized that out of my ten dolls, six of them have red hair, or hair with a reddish tint: Lissie, Kimmy (#8), Anna (#21-tint), Lucy (Emily-tint), Jess (her hair's like a dark chocolate-raspberry colour), and of course Ellie. Her eyes aren't hazel, but they're not Mattel-neon-green. I haven't seen a PM Felicity in person, so I can't compare to that. Her freckles are different from Jill (Kit)'s and look so much more natural (to me, anyway) and subtle. Where as Kit's freckles are almost always visible, I think glasses could hide Ellie's. And, like others have said, her vinyl is kind of squishy, and she's definitely huggable (but not at the moment with the Hogwarts pin and necklace on her). She can pull off pretty much any look that I've seen. I've seen preppy Mia, sporty Mia, and my Ellie's sort of punkish (except AG doesn't quite make clothes her style and I'm broke, so she's wearing a red AGP t-shirt and cargoes). I think she'd look stunning in the purple jumper outfit, but, alas, I'm not in possession of it. I think Mia is a very versatile doll, considering all of the different Mias in the custom board. Now for the outfit- I do like the style of the sweater (minus snowflakes) so someone will be wearing that (but it's summer here). The sweater itself doesn't feel high-quality and, come on, pink isn't a good color for most redheads. A- because I imagine it'll look great on Marisol. The skirt, in color, seems versatile enough, but with the sequins and stitching, I know I'll have a hard time trying to find a match. It's not easy to get off (as others have stated), though it might've been friction with the tights. B- because... well, nothing but the sweater really matches, plus it's hard to get off. The tights seem thicker than those that I got with the Go Anywhere Outfit (that came on Kimmy), but that might be because the Go Anywhere tights are stretched. They seem very snaggable, but that's pretty much the case with any tights. C+ because I just don't like them The shoes are adorable. They're two of my favorite colors: blue and purple, plus they're one of my favorite styles. They're a bit hard to get on, but they're so cute, and so much more "Ellie" than the red AGP ones I have. A+Overall: Doll: A+, there's nothing I don't love about her! Outfit: B+, because I love the shoes, like the sweater a lot, but don't like the skirt or tights too much. If I had the money, I'd buy ten more Mias (okay... well, maybe not ten, maybe only two or three more...) Picture:

OMGOSH she's gorgeous! My Geneva came yesterday. I'm in love! I haven't bonded with a doll this quickly since I got my LOF Violet. She definitely has the lightest shade of red of all my red-haired dolls. It's really very pretty! I love the layers and being able to change the part is an added bonus. Her hair is drying right now, I misted it to get rid of the kinks when I took out the braid. I can't wait to play with it! I think her eyes are hazel. They're definitely closer to hazel than my LOF Elsie's. They're the exact same as a friend's #21. AG has done several dolls with red hair/green eyes hazel is a nice change. Now, how 'bout violet? Gen's freckles are very light like mine and look very natural. They're definitely lighter than a friend's Kit and I think Gen's are prettier. I agree with Lady Of The Ring Mia is very versatile. Gen isn't punk but she's quite tomboyish and usually wears an oversized t-shirt, leggings and converse. You wouldn't catch her dead in pink. Which brings me to....... The outfit Sweater I like the style and I would wear it. (I'm a red-head but pink looks good on me. But I'm kinda hoping the iron-on transfers will peel off. Gen's my only modern doll at the moment so I guess it'll just wait in the clothes box until Willow comes. ASkirt I think it's cute and it's quite versatile. Most shirts I have cover the stitching so if I could get Gen to wear it..........Also it was hard to get off and on but not too hard. A+Tights What can I say? They're pink tights. They'll probably snag and be worthless. CShoes Gosh I love these! I love the style and the colors they used. Gen loves them which is good because I don't have have other shoes for her. Overall; Doll A+, Outfit B+I love my Geneva Louise Russo and would even make Quints is I had the money.

I just ordered Mia today! My PS mentioned that one thing to be aware of with these dolls is that the eyelid color does not always match the skin tone. It is just a thing with these dolls. She tried to pick me one with eyelids as close to the skin tone as possible. I don't really have an issue with it as long as the rest of her is fine. Have any of you noticed that at all? Thanks!

Yes, my Mia's eyelids look kind of pale green. It's almost as if she has light green eye shadow on, so that's just what I imagine it is. I don't really care for her skating outfit (the green dress) and don't have it, but I think her pale "eye shadow" would look great with it if I did!

I just got Mia in the mail today! First off, she is ADORABLE. As others mentioned, her hair isn't really red - more like a strawberry blonde (my youngest sister - the reason I bought Mia - has the very same hair color. EXACTLY. lol). It's nice and thick and shiny. I love the "hazel" eyes - I wish American Girl would use this as the default green eyes instead of the unnatural neon green. Her eyes are about the same color as mine - which are technically green. A pic for comparison (I look slightly cross-eyed): I'm not a huge fan of her meet outfit as a whole, but I can see using the pieces separately. Overall, I love her to pieces and am so glad I got her! Doll: A+ Outfit: B

Nathalie Sandrine Thibodeau FKA Mia arrived July 25, 2008, and I just adore her! What I Like: *The color of her hair. It's strawberry blond like Nellie's and looks more blond than red when compared with a true redhead (Gotz Julia). It's really a pretty color-would've preferred a redder tint-but it's still pretty as is. *Her eyes, probably her best feature! I adore AG's hazel eyes, probably for the same reason others do. I don't hate on the green eyes, but the hazel eyes are more realistic. *Hair volume. It's nice and thick, perfect for hairstyles-even updos are possible! *Love the different freckle pattern. *Shoes/undies: *squee* 'nuff said What I Don't Like: *Sweater, Skirt, Tights: Could the meet outfit BE more boring? While it'd look better on a brunette, I still don't like the decals on the sweater...and mine won't come off. *Hair in Face: Yep, with the side part, her hair falls in her face when the braid is out. Easy fixed with hair clips, yet it's slightly annoying. Pictures: Grade: A

I have had a couple of Mia's. On the first one, you could actually see her wig cap on her forehead. This one you can see it as well, but you have to look for it a bit under her braid and under the rest of the hair on her forehead. Is that normal for this doll?
Thanks!

|
Post by Keri on Sept 28, 2008 21:21:25 GMT -5
Uhm, do you mean it's like if you lift her braid you can see the bits of the wig, like if you lifted a chunk of Kit's hair and you can see the wig? Because that's totally normal. The skin cap is only over a small portion of the wig, so elsewhere, if you move the hair, you'll see the wig. Just like with every other AG.

The back of Mia's wig when wearing pigtails:
I think there may be something weird going on with my doll's wig, like it's crooked or something, because of how the short hairs are positioned more to the left than to the right.

What's the best way to take her braid out without her hair being crinkly? If I get it wet will it damage it?
