This item was introduced in February 2013 (when it replaced Molly's Bed) and it retired in December 2013 as Molly's collection was archived.
Molly loves her bright yellow bed - it reminds her of a ray of sunshine! This one features turned-wood spindles, a style that was popular in her day. It comes with a plush mattress, a soft pillow, and a pretty yellow bedspread with a dainty lattice print. W: 21 1/4" x H: 8 1/2" x D: 10"
Price: $94 (when released 2/14/13; reduced to $55 11/18/13; and then $47 12/2/13 before sold out 12/7/13)
Description from AG: A cheerful way for girls to perk up Molly and Emily's bedroom, this set includes: -A bright-yellow bed that features turned-wood spindles, a style popular in 1944 -A pretty yellow bedspread with a dainty lattice print -A soft pillow and a plush mattress
I purchased Molly's new bed while at American Girl Place today. I hadn't planned on purchasing so quickly, but it is just so charming that I could not leave the store without it. It's packaged in a cardboard box as most AG beds are, not the typical red star packaging that contains clothes/accessories. As soon as I got home I rearranged one of my doll rooms and assembled this bed. I could not be happier with it! While the stock photo makes the bed look bright yellow it is more subtle than that. Despite the coverlet being a similar shade, it really goes well with the frame. This bed is sturdy and well designed, overall I recommend it. It gets an A from me!

Mollys Yellow Jenny Lind Bed:This was an unexpected surprise. I purchased this bed from AG on 3-3-2013. The Bed: is a classic 'Jenny Lind' style. It has a headboard and foot made in the 'spindle' style. The bed has side rails which are held in place with screws and bolts, simular to an "Ikea" furniture piece. These are hidden by clip-on covers the same color as the paint. The bed came with the only tool needed to fit it together. It was very easy to construct. There are 2 bed slats, with a solid wood piece for the base of the mattress. These are attached to the bed frame and of a very solid construction. The Mattress: is a typical AG issue. It is well made and the cover fabric is a bit more substancial than the more recient beds for dolls. The Pillow: Is also a classic AG issue. The size is good for the bed. The outer fabric is the same as the mattress, well made. The Coverlet: This is a nice departure. The bed cover is made from a brocade material. It is a light yellow, covered in a white diamond pattern vine trellis. There are small light blue flowers in the center of these diamonds. Overall rating: A+ The cost was $94.00 and worth it. I like this better than any other bed AG has made. I am well pleased with the new Molly bed. I can see this bed being used for a Historical or a Modern dollowner. It is strong, well made and kid friendly too.

I bought this because it fits with a doll character I am putting together. . It is a fresh, bright looking bed with some old fashioned charm, yet would work with modern dolls.
However, I probably should have gotten Kit's bed instead. Checking the measurements, it's 8 1/2 x10 x 21 1/4 vs the 9 x 10 1/2 x20 that Kit's bed is. That extra half inch in height and width I think gives Kit's bed a more balanced look. This is just feels a bit low to the ground and narrow. On top of that Kit has a trundle feature that this does not have for the same price, plus a throw pillow. I don't know if I would have gotten this right now had it not been part of Molly's archival, and am still mulling about exchanging it for Kit's.
I don't know if Kit's bed had to be assembled; this one does need to be put together. Did not take me long, but I;ve done years of Ikea type of assembly.

I love this bed. I even managed to fold the blanket juuuust right in order to give the illusion there is a matching bottom sheet.
