Ivy was released in 2007 and archived in 2014.
She's been Julie's neighbor and best friend since starting school. Though gymnastics tournaments and a close-knit Chinese American family keep Ivy busy, she misses Julie when she moves away! Your Ivy doll arrives wearing a cowl-neck top and twill pants, with rainbow-printed underwear, western-style boots, and a Good Luck, Ivy paperback book.
What can I say about this doll? Well... SHE IS BEAUTIFUL! Don't hesitate to order her, EVEN IF you have Jess. She is a sweethaert. Grayish/brown eyes, short black hair with pie bangs and gold earrings. She comes with her book Good luck Ivy. Her meet outfit consists of Green pants with yellow lining. She also comes in an optical-illusiony shirt thats layered and scalloped at the neck. Oh, and you can't forget those boots! A+

May I offer my own Ivy pictures? Here she is, in her wholeness, Ivy! I even like her meet outfit, but I'm odd. It's got a groovy watermelon type thing going on. I think the neatest thing about Ivy is her hair. It's very soft. I've played with it and played with it and petted it and so on until I probably seem creepy to the poor thing. Ivy from the side. Her eye carving is more obvious in real life than on film. A close up of the pants. Those pockets aren't real! Emo. Meanwhile, the biggest thing I don't like about her meet outfit is that the pants are too tight for her to sit down in! They're the sort of pants with a fly. I hate doll pants with flies. The boots. I don't know why everyone's sputtering over these, they're just brown boots. If they bug you that bad, tuck them under the pants and pretend they're plain tan shoes.

I just got my Ivy today and she is beautiful, I named mine Alexis! Her hair is pretty but it's a bit too short to do a lot of styling, so if you like to style your dolls hair I'd suggest getting JLY #4 instead. I give her an A. For the clothes. Her shirt is not to bad, although not very cute. C- for shirt. Her pants, B+ they are very versatile. Her boots aren't the best but they are cute and easy to get on/off, B. I Love her undies! They are adorable, they are bright green w/ a rainbow and cloud on the front. A for the undies. I recommend this doll, she is absolutely gorgeous and fun to play with!

I don't think pictures do Ivy justice. I was totally against getting her (the hair being the main issue, since it looks...and is...cheaply made), but I saw my cousin's Ivy doll and fell in love.
Her hair is way too soft and takes me a while to get her beret on her correctly, or even *on* without her hair going 60000 ways.

I received this information from AG Customer Service when I wrote to inquire about the differences in Ivy's meet pants:

Well... I've been trying to catch up on reviews. I got my Ivy the day she came out, over a year ago, and the photos are still sitting in a folder waiting. Oops. Well, here goes! Plastic-wrapped legs, very charming. Here's her earring. Shiny. Goldish. Standard body, no apparent mutations. Sideview. Pigtails from the back. Short hairs, phew. Hair comparison with Kit. I absolutely love Ivy (she's called Yeva 'round these parts). All the positive stuff about her has been said already, so I will reiterate what I feel are her shortcomings. - Her hair is a really bizarre length. You can put it in pigtails and that's about it. It's not long enough for a ponytail. If you try to do half-pigtails, they stick out like deformed antennae. Not so cute.
- Others have spoken to the quality of her hair. Yeva's hair has been played with, a lot. It seems fine, no undue shedding or such. The one weird thing is that it takes much, much longer to dry than any of my other dolls. I'll put it in pigtails and it will stay very damp for days and days, despite the small amount of actual hair and the fact that it's not even braided but directly exposed to air. Perhaps Ivy's head could be useful to NASA in some way.
- I don't know if this is just my doll, but I also noticed this on #30. The face mold has the tendency to look as if it is tilting downward. It gives Yeva the appearance of constantly staring at the ground. She's going to miss all the good stuff!
So, overall, I'd give her an A-. She look absolutely darling, but her hair is not so conducive to playing. Her bangs, however, rock. They aren't freakily thick like the original AGTs. Very nicely layered, very cute. Here are 2 gratuitous Yeva pictures as a bonus:

I just got my Ivy about a month ago and I love her! She is very cute. Her hair isn't styling condusive, but I like it. She looks great in pig tails, and none of her cloth wig shows through unlike some of the other dolls. I love her face, it looks so, I don't know, childish is the word I'm thinking of? I wasn't crazy about her meet outfit, especially the shirt. The pants look good with pink or purple shirts, or yellow too. The boots are ok, I love the stitching on them. The shirt...UH. I do not like the shirt! But what I found is that if you put the shirt on your doll the put the pink tank top from the skateboard outfit over it, then stuff that god awful cowl neck inside the meet shirt(make sure you flatten this out, or it will look like she has a giant lump on her chest lol) it looks okay. LOL other wise Ivy is a great doll. I love her eyes! I would give the doll an A- I would give the meet outfit a B Overall about a B+ or A-

Ivy is one of my very favorite dolls. I like the pretty coloring in her face, decal brown eyes with just a touch of grey, and her sleek and swingy hair. If you're looking for a doll to do lots of fancy hair things with, Ivy isn't your girl. Her hair is low maintenance, and I think that actually makes her a good choice for the littlest girls who need a doll that they can play with without a lot of fussing. I am not a fan of Ivy's Meet outfit at all regardless of (or maybe because of!) its historical accuracy. Then again, I never had any intention of keeping Ivy as a 70s girl and so that outfit is long gone. Here she is in all her cuteness:

Ivy is such a sweet doll. As others have said, she does look much younger than the other dolls.

I fell for our Ivy upon seeing her at the 2009 Madison Children's Museum Annual Benefit Sale. As others have mentioned, her face is incredibly sweet. I was surprised at how unique I found her to be--very different from our Jess (as well as the #4 that came through our household a couple of years ago). I did not know when we purchased Ivy at the ABS that she had stains on her legs, as did most of the dolls purchased there. At this time I am unaware as to whether they have changed the dye of the pants, or whether this is an issue anymore, but I wanted to share pictures of the staining on our Ivy's legs. We are in the process of trying to remove the stains with Oxy treatment, so I'll update this later with our progress!

Ivy is absolutely gorgeous! At first, I was afraid that her hair was going to look and feel cheap, because that was the impression that I got from a few earlier reviews. However, when I got her, I was ecstatic, because her hair was very sleek, soft, and shiny! I have to warn you, though, it is short. Ivy's Meet outfit is actually pretty cute in real life, and I thought that the yellow undies were completely adorable. I just can't bring myself to like the polyester shirt, though. By the way, mine did not arrive with green legs. Yay!

I ADORE this dolly! She is definitely my new favorite(shh..don't tell my other girls, lol) I love everything about her! Her hair is sooo soft, and shiny! I love her pie bangs, and especially her eyes:D. When you compare her eyes with a regular brown eyed girl, she has the decal ones. They look MUCH more realistic and pretty. Also if you look closely you can see little notches cut into her eyes, I think that's a very unique touch! Now for her outfit, I really like it(especially those cute boots)! The shirt isn't that bad, but it has the regular velcro on it. The pants are pretty cute, but nothing really special. Her book was really good too. I read it to my youngest daughters and they wanted me to read it to them again. So overall grade A-(if it wasn't for the outfit being so odd)

Ivy in Lanie's nightgown/shirt/whatever. I love Ivy something fierce and I haven't even had her all that long. I still think her shirt is unfortunate, particularly when paired with the pants/boots they chose for her 'Meet' outfit, but doll-wise it's hard to find a cuter doll. The cute, it burns. Perhaps not in the photos as my room is a sucking void for light, but still. In person, she's adorable. And while she didn't come with the dread green-leg syndrome, she did introduce me to a whole new threat. Those blasted little hang-tags that come wrapped around their wrists telling you just how to care for your doll with _whatever_ hair? Ivy's rubbed up against her pinkie and now she looks like she hurt herself. I didn't even know that was possible. I should probably actually semi-review her and not just OD on cute. Her hair is definitely unique, not just in style but in the feel of it. I like it, though I can understand how it would be off-putting to some people. Also, people really aren't kidding when they say there's not really enough to do much with. It's an odd length, really, because there's enough that fans or wind will blow it around, but even pigtails will stick straight out because there's *just* enough to gather into them. Her boots are pretty nifty and the pants seem interesting although there's a saddlebags issue, at least when paired with her meet shirt. Her undies are cute, although I expected a more vibrant color for some reason. Overall, Ivy gets an A- from me. She's adorable, her outfit isn't all "burn it! Burn it now!"; I just don't care for it all put together.

I picked up Ivy from a craigslist ad. She was in like new condition with the exception of her legs. She had some staining on her legs from her “Meet” outfit pants. I was able to get the stains out with multiple treatments of Remove Zit. I’m probably one of the few who actually like her “Meet” outfit. I like that it's funky and she’s one of the few dolls who can pull it off. Ivy is really “cute”. She has an adorable face and her eyes are very pretty. The only drawback is her hair. I’m not crazy about it because there’s not much that you can do with it. It also feels more synthetic and fake than hair on some of our other dolls. It does make her a low maintenance doll though. I give her a solid B. She missed an A mark because of her hair (would have liked a longer length so there could be more styling options). ETA - The more I'm around Ivy, the more I'm enjoying her. She's one of those dolls you may not instantly fall in love with but she definitely grows on you more so than other dolls. She's actually becomming a fast favorite for me. Don't let the shortcomings with her hair stop you from getting her. She's truly a gem.

My Lucy, aka 2009 Ivy, is cute. Her eyes look great with her face mold, which is unique due to the painting on the corners of her eyes. But her hair is SO frustrating!!!!! It breaks off very easily, and it falls out all the time, and you cannot style it except for putting it in clips. Also, her meet outfit is kind of... ugly. The shirt is a little too 70's, the pants stain, and the boots are hard to get on. I love my Lucy, but she's very frustrating.
I'll give her a B just out of kindness.

In a thread in the General Discussion section, someone asked for a comparison photo of MyAG 4 and Ivy. I responded with the photo below. I'm adding it here in hopes it will be of help to someone.

I like to tuck the ends of her hair inward against her clothing to style it, so it doesn't just flare down and out:

There ins't much I can say about Ivy other than that she is beautiful, frankly speaking I prefer her to Julie a sI find her character more interesting as she is of a vastly different heritage than we have previously seen. I love her ultra straight hair and adore her bangs. Her clothes are just so retro that they are irresistible. Ivy is near the top of my favorite doll list simply because she is so unique. I am not sure why so many people complain about her, her clothes may be difficult to put on but she is perfect. Grade: A- (clothing Issue)

I got my Ivy doll at AGPNY in April 2010. She was a spur of the moment purchase, but I don't regret getting her one bit!
I really do like her meet outfit. I don't have one other shirt that matches those green skinny jeans, but the whole outfit looks awesome. I've found lots of uses for the boots, they match lots of things.
I have to admit that I wish Ivy's hair wasn't so straight; it looks funny in pigtails or clips, but when it is down it looks adorable. It's very silky, too.
Overall, I'd give Ivy an A.

Here's my Ivy, wearing a shirt my sister made for her. (If you don't recognize it, it's the pink shirt she's wearing in Meet Julie. My sister rocks!)

Ivy as a friendly witch for Halloween. Apparently I haven't taken as many of Ivy as I thought I had. Ivy claims Addy's holiday dress for her own. Much cuter in person. (She's also painfully cute in Kit's overalls and Lanie's pajamas, but of course I can't find my shots of those.)

In mid-September, a friend purchased an Ivy from AGP-NY. She asked me to look over the doll to make sure she was a good pick. That's when I discovered the ear plugs. As you can see in the above photo, Ivy now comes with small vinyl, skin-toned inserts between her earring and her ears. I find this rather unattractive, but after going back to the store and looking through the Ivies for sale, they all had the plugs.
