This item was released in 2015 and retired in 2018.Maryellen gets a beautiful surprise for her birthday—her bridesmaid dress, all finished and ready to wear for her variety-show performance! It has a wide neckline, rows of gathered tulle, and a pleated sash with a pink corsage decoration. The outfit includes a green headband to hold her hair and shiny dark-pink shoes with white bows.I LOVE this dress!!! It's soooooooo PRETTY! And that's coming from somebody that hates frilly things. I normally don't like cutting the tags off my AG things, but that one has got to go! This was the only thing I was going to buy for myself at the store and it was the only piece of ME's collection that I really loved when I saw the pictures. Now that I have it, I am a tad disappointed and need to make some changes to it. I'm sorry to be a 'negative nelly' but here are some close-ups with issues I'm having with mine -- I really like this dress but I think it looks so sad and hangs so limp without a crinoline! I won't pay $16 for one but know plenty of seamstresses who make them for about half the price and I'll be glad to give them the business. IMG_6437 by EmmaGaga, on Flickr The bow looks super cheap when you look at it closely and doesn't sit right IMO -- IMG_6434 by EmmaGaga, on Flickr The sash isn't attached and I really struggle getting mine to stay at the waist line which I hate. I'm going to try to tack it down without being too obvious -- IMG_6431 by EmmaGaga, on Flickr Here's a side view of the shoes. They remind me of slippers but at least they slide on easily! IMG_6428 by EmmaGaga, on Flickr So just another perspective. Once I get the crinoline and make the changes, I think I will appreciate the dress more. I do love the color and don't think the flower looks as cheap as some people are saying - I think it's actually quite well made!

This is my favourite Maryellen dress so far. The dress is a lovely green colour on ME. I've seen many 50s dresses that look similar to it. I like that even though it was meant to be her brithday or bridesmaid dress it really can be used for any fancy occasion. Mine will wear hers for Christmas with a little sweater or anytime she wants to dress up. I'm not a fan of the headband. I use the little clippy from Kit's reporter outfit and it matches quite well The shoes are cute. But I don't particularly like them with this dress. She's wearing Sam's flower picking shoes in this one more as joke but it's cute. I use her meet shoes, Or maryjanes more often. So I give this dress a A+ and the accessories a B

I like this dress. It’s a nice shade of green that seems like it can work well in Maryellen’s era or for more modern girls. The dress is made out of a green satin-like fabric. The bodice has a wide neckline and is trimmed with two rows of gathered tulle. A layer of tulle covers the entire skirt portion of the dress. There are three more rows of gathered tulle around the skirt, which I think balances the top well. A ribbon sash goes around the middle. It’s sewn to the side seams of the dress, which sometimes means that the dress’s neckline has to be pulled up a bit to keep the sash covering the waist seam. This seems to work better for me than trying to adjust the sash itself. There’s also a large coral-colored corsage type flower on the sash, and two green ribbons extending down from it. The dress fastens with a strip of Velcro up the back. The dress really needs to have some kind of crinoline under it for support. ME’s crinoline is best, but one of the older pieces (Cécile/Marie-Grace/Addy) can work as an alternative. With ME’s crinoline: With one of the older crinolines: Like one of the other reviewers, I’m not crazy about the accessories that go with this outfit. The shoes are okay, but shiny pink plastic with white bows, so limited versatility with other outfits. And I think the headband is cute but the fit seems just a tad small. Overall, even with the accessories being less than perfect, I still think this dress is attractive and pretty versatile for special occasions, and I’d rate it an A.

This outfit is really cute. It complements Maryellen's eyes and complexion. I also think the shoes look a little off for the era.
