Luciana's Mars Habitat is big and has a lot of fun for the dolls and girls! I feel like we are still figuring out how everything works, but our girls are having lots of fun while learning. Also this came with a lot of stickers and I have not had time yet to figure out where they all go, so they aren't up on these photos. I only used 1 so far to go on the first aid kit. Overall I am happy with this set, I did find a couple of negatives though, for example, this comes with 1 set of notes to go on Luciana's clipboard. I intended to put those away and let our girls make their own for now so I wouldn't worry about them getting damaged as most paper does with little girls, but the notes that came with ours came bent already. I am trying to flatten them out by laying them under a book currently. Also, I found the monitor screen very difficult to get in the monitor but I think this is an issue with my particular monitor b/c the computer screens were very simple to get into the computer as they should be. Also once our monitor was clicked onto the actual habitat it is wobbly unlike the other pieces so I think I may have an odd monitor. I may later call them about this to see if I can get another or not. But this is an overall fun and educational set and I give it an A-!
We created our 3 rooms into a science lab (pictured above), a communications center and a food and fitness area so far. But the cool thing is you can move around all of the pieces and change it up however you would like or whenever you feel like so if something isn't working, we'll change it! I love our science lab the most. The plants can come in and out of the planter.
Luci is pleased with how well her plants are growing!
Above is our communications room. The monitor and computer each came with several 'screens' you can change out. Also, the headset is adorable!
Above is our 'food and fitness' room and I think I may add the first aid kit to it as well. The first aid kit comes with a bandage wrap, bandages, a thermometer and first aid cream. I really like all of the storage boxes, but wish each vertical box had a shelf. All of the space food is so cute! It came with scalloped potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cashews, a beef patty, creamed spinach and drinking water. Also hanging in this room we have the virtual reality goggles!
The top of the habitat has clear windows but also the outermost 'windows' are stickers that I applied. The satellite is adorable!
Included safety glasses.
This control panel is so cool! When you press the bottom button it has prerecorded voices. I particularly like how they encourage the recipient to keep up the good work and how they can look forward to a fresh salad soon, haha! The top button allows you to record your own messages and the middle button then plays your own messages back. the center button under the screen lights the whole thing up and makes it look really cool and realistic!
I thought I'd show all of the stuff I haven't put on (stickers and paper mainly) yet. It comes with a booklet like the space suit did giving lots of information about the mars habitat. I am so glad they included those with the space suit and this habitat so we can all learn how real astronauts use all of this!
All closed up!
ETA: this could be a design flaw to consider, our daughter just accidentally dropped one of the small test tubes (the purple one) and it fell in the track that the curtains (outside covers) move on and it is too far down for any of us to get, even with tweezers. My husband thinks he'll have to take the bottom off (take it apart) to get it out. I imagine my daughter won't be the only one to have this accident!
I would also like to add that this is a great set to let multiple children play. All 3 of our girls can easily and happily play with this at 1 time b/c there are 3 separate sections they can easily access, unlike say, Lea's hut which only had 1 big front so it is hard for all 3 to get in there at the same time. They haven't stopped playing with this all day!
