This item was introduced in 2019, taking the place of the Holiday Outfit (and the earlier Hanukkah Dress).
Hanukkah is Rebecca’s favorite time of year, and this special outfit makes her feel like a star while she celebrates with family. It includes: A short-sleeved empire-waist dress with delicate cream-dotted mesh and an embroidered overlay, lace sleeves, and a beautiful satin waistband bow A blue satin hairbow and pair of cream tights to match Cream-colored double-strap dress shoes from her father’s store, decorated with fancy faux-pearl and rhinestone detailsAmerican Girl Rebecca’s Hanukkah Outfit $42. The tights are thick. The shoes are weighty and feel like high quality. The bow is a pressure open clip. The dress is lovely and reminds me of Downton Abbey! I will say that the Velcro isn’t the non catch kind, so it will catch the tulle. I’d also like to mention that the tulle seems to fray a bit. I would fray check the edges personally since I do not want them to fray more. It’s lovely but the fraying does concern me. I can fix it because I sew, but this dress might get ruined in a child’s hands—even with just normal play. I’d recommend it for the adult collector, or for the mom who can fray check the edges for their child. Review is in link below: http://instagr.am/p/B3A4rLMhZAF

I was most excited for this outfit. It is beautiful but sadly quality lacks a bit. I still love it but when picking one out there are some things to look for. The shoes don't want to stay velcroed because of the thread from the beads. The extra lace at the shoulders can be uneven, as one side more loose than the other side causing it to slide off the shoulder. They can also be positioned not very symmetric. Also there can be too much pleating with the skirt portion, this really bugs me on mine. The pleating should not be so heavy, but not all are this way. The last to note is the lace at The bottom can be very uneven or too short. I really like the bow being on a clip, not a fan of tying ribbons.
Edit to add, so after seeing many pictures with the lace bit at the top positioned off the shoulder I guess it doesn't matter if they are too loose. Looking at AGs stock photo I thought they were meant to be positioned up over the shoulder.
After having the outfit a few months no issues. I still love it. The lace has not unraveled at the bottom yet. Not sure how it would hold up with a child however. Very pretty dress and I plan to get a second when it is back in stock.

This is the most gorgeous dress AG has made for Rebecca. It's also the most grown-up. This dress is based on an adult dress of the 1910s. If the skirt looks too short to your eye, that's because they made it child-length and not adult length. adult dress inspiration This is the dress every little girl must want to make her doll into Elsa. This is not the dress one should be buying for a child. The tulle overlay is very delicate and could rip easily. The dress is tight to get on. Ruth had to remove her combination petticoat and wear her lightest unmentionables. The dress may not fit over Rebecca's thick cotton unmentionables. The lace sleeves do slip over the shoulders but I think that is the style and some fussing can adjust them. The tights are thicker than Rebecca's original Hanukkah dress tights and more ribbed but thinner and less ribbed than Samantha's heavy cotton stockings. This may not be the most historically correct choice but the dress is so thin it needs thin tights underneath. I had a tough time getting them over Ruth's bum. The shoes are a bit big and don't want to stay velcroed. The heels make it difficult for a young lady to stand. Rebecca's original Hanukkah shoes have lower heels but Samantha's Lawn Party shoes have the same Louis heel. compared with original Hanukkah shoes The sole of the shoe is not nice plastic and has the giant AG copyright stamped in. I wish it was a plain sole but it seems to be the same plastic as Rebecca's original shoes in a lighter color with the copyright. The hairbow is permanently attached to a plastic clip. I don't like this and would rather have a ribbon but it's better than the modern cloth hair elastic thing they were using with the Beforever outfits. The clip slips down in the hair. I DO love this outfit very much though and so does Ruth! It's a gorgeous color (my favorite) and the embroidery on the bodice adds a nice touch. The tulle lace overlay is off-white but still gives the impression of a Snow Queen or ice princess. It's real machine embroidery and not printed. The "jewels" on the shoes are a nice touch to make them different. Obviously I love this style dress and would and have chosen it for myself. It does remind me of Downton Abbey, as someone said above, which is why I had one custom made before AG copied me! There were some complaints about the price but when I priced out each part of the outfit I had custom made, I felt AG's price was fair given they include shoes, have overhead and their brand name. Grade: A-

I saw this dress at AGPNY and was stunned by its beauty. I prefer the combination on the original Hanukkah shoes with it as shown in QNPoohBear's review. That overlay is extremely delicate and probably could easily tear or rip if not handled carefully. I'm glad the picture of the real dress of this era is shown so that all can see that it is definitely of Rebecca's era.

Tights: AStandard AG tights. They’re maybe a little thicker than more recent offerings, but not quite as thick as some of Samantha’s early tights. They’re well-made and easy (for tights) to slip on. I always love a good pair of tights! Dress: A+I think this is one of the prettiest dresses that AG has ever made! It’s made of soft, light blue fabric with a delicate, sophisticated lace overlay. The cap sleeves are made of the same lace with light blue trim and lace “straps” to decorate the front of the dress. Some have complained about the lace not being hemmed, but I think it’s common to not hem this kind of lace – it doesn’t ravel – and, at the very least, I probably wouldn’t hem it if I was sewing the dress. A hem would also give the bottom a much heavier look than the light, wintery pattern woven into the lace currently gives it. The satin bow is sewn onto the dress and the bow is sewn together. The front features the same white embroidery that’s seen on the bottom. It’s such an elegant dress! Apologies for the sideways picture - I couldn't convince it to turn the right way. It opens with non-snag Velcro, so it’s easy to put on. Even with the Velcro being non-snag, I’d advise being careful – the one downside to this dress is that it doesn’t feel especially durable. I could see a child (or careless adult…like me) easily snagging the delicate lace. The fit is a little snug, so I doubt it would fit on the chunkier PC dolls, but it’s fine on a newer girl. The colour is gorgeous and universally flattering – I have yet to see a doll that doesn’t look good in this! Shoes: A+These feel like good quality, a lot better than some of AG’s flimsier offerings over the past few years. The pearls and jewels accent the dress’s elegance and the double strap gives them a very formal, different sort of look. They have a small heel, which looks nice and doesn’t impact the doll’s balance at all. Some have mentioned the threads from the pearls getting in the way of the Velcro, which I could see being an issue…but mine Velcro and stay on just fine, so maybe it’s dependent on you particular pair of shoes? No problem with balance! Bow: A+I really, really appreciate the type of fastening used on this! As someone who isn’t great with hair and is therefore apt to ignore hair accessories, the pressure clip on this bow makes it so easy to use that there’s no reason not to use it! It slides in easily without ruining your doll’s hair and stays in place. The blue satin matches the ribbon around the waist of the dress. Nice, easy closure! Good Value?I’ll admit, I initially balked at the $42 price tag when I bought this from AG. There’s no denying that the price increase that came with the “return to quality” launch in 2019 was a little shocking at first…but I think it’s worth it. Because this outfit is quality! The tights are thick, the shoes are sturdy, and the dress is detailed and gorgeous! I’m happy to pay a little more if it means well-made outfits with good materials again. Overall: A+This was, hands down, my favourite thing from the Historical relaunch in 2019. It reminded me of a Titanic dress (I’m nothing if not a Titanic nerd!) and I loved the more “grown up” look of it. It does not disappoint! It’s elegant and eye-catching. It’s well-made and the materials used are absolutely gorgeous! It does, admittedly, feel a little delicate, but I kind of like that about it – it adds to the feeling of it being something special and not often worn. I’m so happy that AG made it, I’m thrilled to have it in my collection, and I LOVE how it looks on Blaire!
