Sugar® Pet Set Item# F9284 $22(price decreased to $20 in December 2009 and the Pet Journal was no longer included) This adorable Yorkie puppy with black-and-tan fur is an American Girl’s best friend! Sugar® comes with a collar and a name tag. Includes a pet journal for girls. *Sugar does not have a magnet mouth* Such a sweet, fluffy dog! Since this dog has a pink bow, I'm thinking it's a girl, but we're going to call ours a boy. With a quick snip of the scissors you can snip that bow right out of his hair! He stands on all fours, unlike Coconut, Licorice and Ginger who are sitting on their haunches. He's still hard inside but covered with long fur. He even has a bit of fluff for a tail. Sugar stand 4 1/2" tall to the top of his ears, 4" in length and only 2" tall at his hind quarters. He's a bit smaller than Coconut. He has a pink collar with his name on it. It buckles like a real collar. The book is fun. It's like a scrap book for you to fill in information about your new pet. The book is 4 1/2 " x 4 1/2" . Cute dog. We love AG pets around here. Grade A. Sugar and Emily for size comparison

Sugar is really cute but not very realistic looking. She is smaller and lighter than Coconut. I did not feel she was worth the price so I did not buy her.

The Barnes & Noble set is a good buy. Sugar does not come with a collar, but she comes in a cute dog house like box. In addition, Sugar is paired with the book - Sugar's Super Sweet Postcard Set. 10 postcards, 3 pages of stickers, and 1 stand up picture of Sugar comprise the book. Its price tag says $7.95. So, $17 for the whole set is a deal.

I bought the Sugar set through Barnes and Noble. Sugar is for Anna (JLY21) and I'm saving the postcard set for my DD for when she goes away to camp. For the price (around $17), it was a good deal. Sugar does not come with a collar/leash though so if that is important to you, then I would buy the Sugar through AG. Sugar is very cute. She is lighter in weight than I expected (lighter than Coconut and Licorice). She also seems to be have a big head in comparison to her body. She is very soft and fluffy though. The postcard set is adorable and includes stickers of Sugar, etc. It's very girly so I know my DD will enjoy it. Overall a good set for the money and a very cute AG pet.

This dog's fur appears to be well-groomed on the site and in the catalogs, but in real life, he looks like he was hit by a tornado. No matter how many times you brush back the fur around his ears, it's sticking straight up again within minutes of holding him, but maybe this is how a real Yorky's fur is. I wouldn't know since I don't have one. Still, he's a cute dog in spite of his fur being untamable. I give him an A. Not an A+ because of his untamable fur, but not an A- or B because other than that he's cute.

I've seen Sugar now and although she is cute she really doesn't resemble a real Yorkie (speaking as someone who has had two of these real life sweethearts). I find The Queen's Treasures teacup Yorkie to be very realistic in comparison.
