This is one of those oft-overlooked AG outfits. I don't see many dolls wearing it in collector photos, and even I forget that I have it. It's certainly great for 'recital' play but it makes a nice formal or even holiday outfit as well. This set consists of a silver satin skirt with Velcro closure, a velvet shirt jacket that has hidden snaps below the button placket and at the cuffs, thick black tights, a substantial black velvet headband with silver thread accents, and shiny patent leather slip-ons with bows that match the skirt. It also comes with a musical note decoration that is magnetized; it is not a pin. That magnet bit is a nice touch to prevent poking holes in the jacket, but unfortunately mine was left on in the same place for years and has crushed the velvet in the shape of a tiny little note! The headband is tight, but I find most AG headbands are. I wish the skirt had more fullness, but that's a personal preference that I have about circle skirts. I also wish the jacket was a little longer. I love the color combination (I personally think the silver has shades of purple in it) and the fact that the shoes are so simple but the bows add that extra fancy touch. Grade: A- The outfit originally retailed for $24 and I'd not pay too much above original retail if I was buying it used, although one might pay more to get it complete with the tiny magnetized note.

One thing to be careful about this outfit, is that the skirt can be snagged very easily. Also the snaps and buttons tend to come loose, but those can be easily sewn back on.
I love this outfit, but my girls rarely wear it because of all the snags.
