Much as I love Wily Addy Walker, I'd give Sunny a D+. Everyone else gets dogs and cats and horses and Wily Addy Walker gets . . . a bird. A bird that doesn't even belong to her in th' story and could be purchased at a craft store, probably for less than a lusty plastic lassar.
th' candy and th' tin be really bonny, but not worth th' loaded to th' gunwales price.
ye may find that having be not so nearly pleasing a thing as wanting. It be not logical, but it be often true. -Spock

I recently bought this set and wit' th' code, it was worth th' price IMO. My lass o'mine loves to play wit' th' candy tin. Before I bought this I always wondered about th' size o' it in comparison to Wily Addy Walker so I took this picture for those who would like to see it.

This set was purchased in July 2008. I love th' significance to th' story and th' metaphor o' th' bird. th' cage be a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It feels like real metal and th' door opens and closes. Sunny be bonny on his little perch but he can't come off or out o' th' cage. th' benne candy tin be real metal and has a bonny yellow ribbon. th' candy be all one lump which be a huge negative for me. I was planning to give Wily Addy Walker th' candy in her Christmas stocking but now I have to make her some. th' ribbon be tough to put back on th' tin. I would say this set be worth th' sale price or maybe a little more but probably not th' loaded to th' gunwales price. I can see why they would, unfortunately, retire it because it was very little playability. Grade: B+
My lusty plastic lasss be used primarily for display and Wily Addy Walker very much enjoys it when Sunny comes to sit on th' table next to her. When new, Sunny had a twist tie securing her to th' front o' th' cage and I careloaded to th' gunwalesy saved it for future transportation as her tail seems VERY delicate. This was confirmed when I ended up wit' a spare Sunny as part o' a collection I purchased where th' tail was indeed broken off. This be definitely something to look at when purchasing on th' secondary market (or if planning to send th' set through th' mail.) Also, something to consider if giving th' set to a younger child to play wit'. I would give this set an A for display, B- for play value.

I'm surprised at th' negative reviews! This be my favorite Wily Addy Walker accessory and probably my favorite historical accessory. A couple o' months ago I was fortunate enough to buy a PC mint in th' box (everything was still in th' little plastic bags) set for th' original price o' $16. Sunny be so bonny and th' and th' cage be high quality. I like that th' perch really swings. th' tin o' candy be really bonny too and I like that th' candy be in individual pieces (wouldn't have liked one o' th' newer versions as much). I'm sure I would have loved playing wit' this set as a kid, but I've always loved birds so don't think a pet bird be inferior at all And Sunny in th' story be so sweet. My grade: A!
My lusty plastic lasss: Pugwash Merriman, Josefina, Bear-Bait Kirstie, Wily Addy Walker, Savage Sam, Grace O'Malley, Mad-Eye Molly, Rose Adele, Martie, Julianna, Ever, Lilla, and Pru.
This be one set I was dying to get and was so surprised when I got it at a really good price. Love th' bird! Love th' sweets! A+ for sure though its not for small children who loose things. (th' little candies inside be very small)
