Released about 1988, retired 2006.When frosty winds blow across the prairie, snuggle Kirsten into her flannel underwear. The chemise comes down almost to her knees, and there’s a deep quilted border on the petticoat for added warmth. To keep her toes toasty, there’s a pair of black-and-white-striped socks. This is a very cute set. It includes a petticoat, chemise, and striped socks. The petticoat has an elastic waist and a cute quilted pattern at the hem. The chemise closes in the back with a single button. The socks are pretty cute but kind of thin. Overall, I'd give this an A. It's a must have for any Kirsten collection.

So far my Kirsten's underwear set has fit well beneath all her clothes. Even the tighter ones fit well on top of it. The petticoat adds an extra poofiness to the dresses, which is very cute. Overall an A+ from me.

Flannel Underwear When frosty winds blow across the prairie, snuggle Kirsten into her flannel underwear. The chemise comes down almost to her knees, and there’s a deep quilted border on the petticoat for added warmth. To keep her toes toasty, there’s a pair of black-and-white-striped socks. $16 KWAU In it's archived glory: The undergarments are made out of thin, soft flannel. It's not fancy, even the lace is basically simple tiny lops around the neck and arms. The Mattel set does fit my PM Kirsten well, but the chemise is bit of a pain to get on an off. The chemise with Kirsten's meet drawers. It goes down to her knees. I probably put it on back wards by having the button in the front but I like my Kirsten dressing herself. Lace detail, it does show a little with a collarless dress. The petticoat ends at the eyelet of the drawers. The quilting would give Kirsten little warmth, but it is a pretty detail. It would be nice if it was a different color or something. I wish that the petticoat is a little fuller, to push out Kirsten's skirts out more. On a good note, Kirsten can wear her underthings under her clothes without a problem. The socks are nice and simple. They are gray and black. Um, yay socks? The chemise and petticoat are pretty simple, anyone with Kirsten's patterns can make them. Historically underwear would had been white, plain and simple and Kirsten does need undergarments. I'm just overwhelmed in the blahness. B for making a modest and warm Kirsten.

I recently got a pre-loved underwear set. The chemise and petticoat are VERY soft, but I'm not sure if it is flannel, it's not very fuzzy like most flannel-could just be worn a bit. I really like the lace detail on the chemise-it is simple enough to feel authentic, but adds a little interest and makes them much cuter than without. The quilting on the petticoat is very thin, but that doesn't matter so much on a doll. It is a basic diamond pattern done in white; I would have preferred a different color stitching for interest, but still cute. I think the socks are nice, they are thicker than some of the newer dolls (not see through!) but still fit well under all the boots I have tried. They also fit well under Kirsten's dresses that I have. This would be an easy set to make with the pattern, but I am happy I bought it, though I may make extra petticoats with colored stitching A+

Kirsten needs to be cozy and warm, especially if she's going to go get herself stuck in snowstorms! The top is very long, going to just above her knees. It's soft and crisp white. There is some plain loopy trim going around the arms and neck. The top closes with a little button in the back, instead of the usual velcro. This is a nice touch. The slit in the back is long enough that there's not too much problem getting it onto the doll. The set comes with socks that are exactly the same thickness, feel, and design as her summer socks, except that these are black/gray. Maybe that keeps her warmer? I would think the socks that come with her meet outfit would be more substantial for winter weather. Maybe they're meant to go under a heavier pair of socks. The skirt is also soft and crisp white. It has a bulky elastic waist that just slides up over the top. I love underwear sets, but as usual, it makes any over-clothes fit quite a bit more tightly. When she's in her full winter gear, the poor thing can hardly move... but that's typical of real-life, too isn't it? The bottom of the skirt is quilted. It's not any thicker, but it does provide a little interesting detail to an otherwise very plain set. I give the underwear set a B-. It's not really necessary-- it doesn't make her Winter outfit look any different (except for a tighter fit) and it obviously can't be seen when she's wearing it under other things. New socks are nice, but kind of impractical-- they do match her Winter outfit and sweater colors, though. It's pretty plain, but I'm sure that's true to what Kirsten would have worn.

The flannel underwear is soft and warm and is a necessity under Kirsten's winter outfit. The lace trim is very sweet.
