Samantha's School Desk was released in 1990 and retired in 2008 with her archival.
When Samantha was asked a question by her teacher at Miss Crampton's Academy, she had to stand next to her Victorian desk to answer. When she sat down again she might find a secret note from her friend Helen tucked into the metal curlicues of her hardwood desk. You can pass secret notes to Samantha, too, but watch out for Miss Crampton!
I haven't taken a picture of mine, but I am working on a "school room" in one of my dollhouses.
I would have to give the desk a B. Unless you get a lot of desk, it's not any fun to play school, really. It's better to have your dolls doing some crafts at a picnic table. The desk seems well made though. Wood and iron with the curlique's for notes like in the book "Samantha Learns A Lesson". It's better for display than play, I think.

I bought the desk last year at AGPC. It is very heavy. It does offer room enough for a doll, so she won't be falling out. I like the front part of it. So far no damage. I have room on the tabletop to put all of Samantha's school accessories- but not the lunchbox as well. I will give it an A.

I have the Mattel version, and will give it an A--very sturdy, and love the cast-iron curlicues. Also love the shelf under the tabletop so that Sam can store her books when she's not using them.

I just purchased Samantha's desk for my Rebecca. The desk has a sticker that reads "Made in Taiwan for Pleasant Company". The oval gold foil sticker is on the shelf below the slanted desk top. Here is a close up of the "famous" Pleasant Company reverse stamp. The raised letters P.C. are on the inner part of both horizontal support pieces of the wrought iron frame. And a pic of the underside of the shelf showing the gold foil sticker. Comparison shot of Rebecca/Samantha's desk (Pleasant Co,) Addy's desk (Pleasant Co,) and Kit's desk (Mattel obviously.)

This is the only piece of furniture I have for Samantha, so I can't compare it to anything else, but it looks very sturdy and well made to me. It looks just like her desk described in the books. There is a shelf under the desk that holds her books. Just for a sense of scale, it does seem to be in proportion to the doll. It can be a little hard to get her to sit up straight (she slides off a little), but its do-able. Mod edit to remove oversized, embedded images

This is the only desk I own. I give it an A+. It is very versatile and works for Samantha as well as Kit and Kirsten IMO. I love the dark wood and the metal curlique design.

While a nice piece of furniture, the desk does not get much use around here. It is great for collecting dust, however. Sturdily built. I hate that my dolls butts never touch the seat in a normal sitting position.

I bought Samantha's desk at a flea market. It is very good quality, a sturdy, heavy wood and Samantha can sit in it comfortably. I give it an A.

Samantha's school desk is my favorite and the only one I have. It's solid wood and looks lovely out on display. The scrollwork is so pretty. I like teat her supplies fit in it as well. A++
