Released in 2001, retired in 2010.
The boarders in Kit’s house lovingly made her this warm, cheerful beret from an old sweater. They even made the mittens from Charlie’s old hat!Kit’s Beret & Mittens $16 QWOA Grade: A Nicely made beret and mittens for Kit. Although a big price to pay for the girl to keep warm I love the set! It is nicely made and just makes me feel warm looking at her wearing them.

These items are well-made and look nice with Kit's coat. The hat is a bit snug, however. It completely flattens Kit's hair, and instead of flipping under nicely at the bottom it sticks out all over the place no matter how much you brush it. B+This is the best I could get Kit's hair to look. I have no idea what they did to it to get it looking so perfect in the promo shots.

I have loved this set since it debuted, but I didn't get it until this Christmas. It goes incredibly well with Kit's coat, and I think the colors look so nice on my Emily. Here's the beret: I didn't have any trouble getting this onto Emily's head the way I wanted. I pulled it onto her forehead straight, then moved it around until it had the angle I wanted. It stayed on pretty well, too, when I took her out to get sledding pictures. The yarn is a nice shade of dark red, with flecks of blue, yellow, peach and green in it, very small. The beret is a definite A from me. Here's the beret and the mittens: The mittens are dark blue with red and grey cuffs. The red is the same shade as the beret, which is nice, and the cuffs coordinate with the coat. But there is one thing about these mittens that is weird: they are HUGE. I put the 2009 PWP mitten in the picture so you can see it. The huge size isn't that noticeable on the doll's hands, but it does make getting them on a little tricky. You have to keep pulling them on until they're all the way on, or they fall off. The mittens are so huge because they are made of cotton thread as far as I can tell, not acrylic, and lack stretch. So, plus one on historical accuracy and quality, but minus half a point for functionality. Overall, I give the mittens and beret an A.

I didn't have any problems with Kit's beret being too small - ours actually seems to fit her head rather nicely. The mittens, on the other hand, are a little annoying. One of them is too tight around the wrist, so I really have to struggle with getting it on. The other one is real loose, so I have to struggle with keeping it on. Looks like I ended up with both sides of the coin. Overall, I give this set a B! I love the look and style, but the fit is lacking. D~

I give the set an A. They're very cute accessories and I like the colors. Really, I can't think of anything negative to say about them. I use them for Kit but I think they'd look great on any doll. Here is my Kit wearing hers:

My beef with this set: the mittens came tied together with a bit of the yarn used to knit them. When I clipped the string, it turned out to actually be PART OF ONE OF THE MITTENS. What?! So now that mitten has a hole in it. I guess that only lends more historical accuracy to a Depression-era doll, but it's annoying to pay money for an item that basically REQUIRES you to damage it in order to use it!

I have Se Ah modelling the beret and mittens. I love the beret, and I think it looks great on a lot of dolls with dark hair especially, though probably on Felicity or Mia who have red hair, not so much.
The mittens, as someone else pointed out, are HUGE. I found it a bit hard to pull them up far enough, especially with the coat on, so poor Se Ah looks like her is wearing mittens 3 sizes too large.
I would give them a B.

A very cute set, and it works well with her coat. It could be used for moderns as well. The hat fits perfectly, though the mittens seem a little big. They slip off her hands easily when they are on with long sleeves. Still, very cute.

Beret: A+A red, knitted beret. It sits very nicely on Kit’s head. Beret. Mittens: A+A sturdy set of blue, red, and grey mittens. They feel warm and would likely serve Kit well in a Cincinnati winter. Mittens. On the doll. Good Value?I got these with the Winter Coat for a reasonable price. If you’re especially interested in this set, I recommend looking into it as part of the coat set. It retailed for $20, which, given the cost of outfits at the time, seems a bit much for a beret and mittens. Overall: A+I really like this set overall. The quality is good and the pieces are practical. They look really nice with Kit’s Winter Coat, so I don’t see how you could get one without the other. In Cincinnati, the winter months are cold – Kit is well set up to confront that! Kit with her coat, hat, and mittens.

A friend has these. These are quite cute and go well with Kit's coat. The beret is nicely knit and the mittens are quite cute with the little flecks of color.
