This is one of the outfits that I never really thought I needed to get, but since it'll be retiring, I decided to get it. It's much cuter in person, IMO, and even though my mom made my Molly her own version, I decided that Emily needed an after-school outfit, too. It fits my PM Molly fine, though. The shirt: The shirt is nice and cute, though the sleeves are just a bit snug on Molly. Fortunately, though, the shirt closes up with real buttons and not velcro. The pants: These are nice, but just a little snug if you decide to tuck the shirt in. Otherwise, they are very classy, yet comfortable looking on Molly. The ribbons: This outfit comes with two fresh new navy hair ribbons, a perfect accent. Grade: A

I bought this outfit for my customized Jonah doll.
I like the shirt quite a bit, though the buttons are a bit hard to keep buttoned. Plaid, design, colors, and texture work out great and would fit a 10 year old well. A- to the shirt due to these factors.
The corduroy trousers...let's just say that they are VERY tight on my Jonah. Jonah is a JLY 13. I do not know if Jonah is PM or Mattel- given the very pale skin of the doll I got (which worked out great for Jonah) it could be PM, but the body does not seem as chubby as that of my PM Samantha.
And Jonah does have boxers on. It is possible that this outfit can fit fine over Molly's bloomers- and it would go perfectly over regular panties like those in Molly's underwear set.
I do not know when this set was retired- so it is possible they made slimmer ones after the takeover and my doll may have been older. But they do not fit so well. B for the trousers due to this. Otherwise, the color and texture are fine. The design definitely seems period accurate- and more unique than run of the mill blue jeans.

I bought this outfit way after the Mattel takeover and fits my PM Molly just fine (I mean with the exception of the snug fit around the waist). Scandia, you should try putting on the pants without underwear. It will fit much more better.

The pants are a tight fit over Molly's bloomer underwear. They are a little snug where they velcro on the sides. The buttons are kind of a pain to button but I would complain if they were velcro! The hair ribbons are satiny and long. They slip off her braids very easily.

This is my all-time favorite Molly outfit! I LOVE it, and so does Molly! The little red buttons are simply adorable!

This outfit is so darn cute. Looks SO much better in person than in AG's pics... even the old ones. Mine is PM (as is my Molly) and it fits fine in the waist, but the pants do seem shorter than I'd like, but that's probably just me. The shirt I like a lot. It feels comfy. This set, like a few of Molly's things, is great for mixing and matching. I actually had this outfit months before I got Olly Molly. Great set! A from me.

Molly's collection is sometimes characterized as not very feminine. I suppose this outfit is one of the items so accused because of its subdued, 'mannish' colors. When it debuted, it made Molly the first Historical doll to ever wear pants. Mannish or not, this is truly a well-made, comfortable outfit. I can totally imagine a 10 year old wearing it while curled up in her favorite easy chair to read. I love the accurate side entry to the pants, and the pleats. Shirt is comfy and soft, and the contrasting (and functional!) red buttons just scream "Molly!" to me. This is really a unique outfit and I consider it an essential for Molly's collection since her books portray her wearing it so often (or variations of the same type of outfit, sometimes with jeans instead of cords). I do agree that the high waist of the pants can present a tight fit. That's true especially if you tuck in the shirt, which I like to do because it shows the great waist of the pants. Our Molly wears her cotton briefs from her underwear set, so that helps with fit. Other than that drawback, this outfit has held up well over the years and remains one of my daughter's faves for her Molly. Grade A- due to fit issues. This outfit was retired in 2006 but comes up fairly often on eBay, for not too much more than retail.

This is one of our favorite outfits for Molly. The plaid shirt is so nice, the little red buttons actually button. The sleeves fit our Molly, and I haven't noticed any issues with our shirt being too small. If anything, it fits just right. The navy blue cords are probably my favorite, since Molly really doesn't have many pants. I've seen some reviews where people say that these cords are too tight, however in this photo our Molly is wearing her bloomer underwear underneeth the cords, and there was room to spare. So, I don't know if we got lucky with bigger cords, or if our Molly has an unusually small bottom. Either way, they fit her fine, and I am extremely happy about that. Our outfit (purchased used) did not come with navy hair ribbons, so I cannot comment on those. Overall I give this outfit an A+! We love Molly's collection, and we are glad we added this outfit to it. D~

I really LOVE this set. I would have worn it too. The pants are great. The small wade Corduroy in a dark blue is so spot on. The flannel plaid shirt is just perfect in detail, right down to the red buttons. The fit is wonderful on my newer Mattel sized doll. And, yes, the pants fit best if the cotton undies are on. The doll can sit and stand without a problem. A very realistic set - Love it! A+

I recently won this outfit in a huge Molly lot, it was bought the first year they released this outfit (supposedly). I never thought much about this outfit, but since I recieved it I completely adore it-especially the shirt which I like to pair with other things like her Molly's meet skirt. It's just so cute and works great for a fall look! The pants are cute too, I thought they would be frumpy looking but, fit my PM #7 very well.
A+

The pants are kind of weird, but this is my FAVORITE Molly set. I absolutely love the little working buttons!

I found what I believe to be a PM set on eBay - it came with a hanger and a plastic burgundy garment bag with a dress picture on it along with the pants, shirt, and navy ribbons. I probably overpaid for it, since the top and bottom buttons are missing, but I've wanted this for Molly for a couple of years now. I could probably fix the buttons.
Buttons aside, I love it. The flannel shirt and corduroy pants have worn well over the years. If anything, the outfit's vintage makes it feel even more like something a real ten year old would wear to play, even now. I didn't have problems with the sleeves, but the waist of the pants were a little snug on Molly. My Molly's a plump PM doll, though - it may not even be an issue with Mattel dolls.
If you can find this used for even a remotely decent price, grab it. It's a great mix-and-match outfit - would probably be wonderful for boy customs, too.

I only have the shirt for this outfit, bought used from eBay (the original owner purchased it in 1991 according to the listing) I made my own pair of navy blue corduroys to go with it, and pair it with Molly’s Saddle Oxfords as shown in her illustrations. The shirt is adorable! I love the tiny buttons and the cozy flannel that works just as well for modern and historical outfits. It fits my PM Molly very well, although the sleeves are a tiny bit snug at the wrists. I give it an A+
