This outfit is associated with the short story, "Molly Takes Flight". It was introduced in 1999 and retired in 2006.
Molly was thrilled that her aunt Eleanor was learning to fly—especially since she got to go along for a ride! On flight day, Molly wore twill khakis and a bomber jacket with the WASP emblem. She tucked her braids under the aviator helmet and wrapped a jaunty scarf around her neck right before takeoff.
Molly’s Aviator Outfit $14 MHO
A+
This set includes Molly's twill khakis, bomber jacket, aviator helmet and scarf.
This is a terrific set, Especially at the current sale price. With this item at risk of retirment, RUN- Go get it while you can.
We do not have Molly, but Kit positively loves it.I think it looks great with Kit's work boots. The jacket and helment are made of a soft leather-like material. The jacket zips up and and then snaps at the top and the bottom.
The helment is made to look like it fastens with a buckle, but there is actually a tiny snap to fasten the chin strap. Once fastened, it looks just like it is really buckled- very cute! The pants are so soft, and nice and roomy for those PM girls.I think the little tan tweed pants could go well with other things too, even for the girls of today.
The silk scarf completes the outfit nicely. Mine, ordered since it went on sale, is marked "Pleasant Company".
A+ for an all around great outfit.

I agree; I can't say enough good things about this outfit. The whole thing is so very well made. My Molly likes to wear these nice slacks with her white camp shirt and brown after school shoes!

I love it! Kit or Molly could wear it. The hat and jacket are well made and the white scarf adds that extra detail.

I ordered this outfit after it was put on sale online. I love this outfit. It is very nicely made and has a nice "historical" value too, since it is based on the WASP's outfits from WWII. I think it would be especially nice for children whose parents are in the military. I think it's also great as winter wear for Molly, since the jacket is so thick, soft and warm. This ensemble is good for Kit as well, since Kit likes Amelia Earhart! Highly recommended. A+!

My girls don't wear this outfit enough, but I must say that it's worth every penny. I tend to break it up into separates, though. Like wearing the khakis with Kit's meet sweater. Kit sure loves matching her heroine Amelia Earhart, though! Grade: A+

My grandfather was in the Air Force during WWII and when I showed him the jacket he instantly recognized it and it was the only time he ever really showed an interest in my doll collecting.

I got it since my family has a long history of military service. My grandparents and I served in the Air Force; my mom, aunt, and two uncles served in the Navy, and my ex-step-dad served in the Army. My mom's boyfriend currently serves in the Air Force. Once I saw the Aviator Outift, I knew I had to have it. I think it is very well made, but was surprised that the only thing tagged was the scarf. The chin strap seems pretty long, but it has excellent detail. Overall, I give this outfit an A.

I just love this outfit. The jacket feels like real leather. Inside the jacket is lined and quilted and it closes with snaps and a zipper. The little hat has a fleece brim and closes with a snap. The scarf feels like silk and the pants are soft khaki twill. The pants have good mix and match potential and the jacket is nice and warm for cold weather. This is one of AGs best sets ever! Grade: A++

I plan to use the yellow blouse from Molly's Roller Skating Outfit with Molly's Aviator Outfit. Her aunt is wearing khaki slacks and a yellow shirt in the illustrations which is good enough for me.

I have been eyeing this outfit on eBay and it sounds like it is a must-have. My only dilemma is what shoes to pair with it. I only have Molly's black Mary Jane's and her saddle shoes, neither of which will do. Has anyone paired it with her brown oxfords? It seems like those would look nice but it's hard to tell without having the items in person.

The Aviator outfit looks nice with Molly's brown oxfords, Kit's school shoes, and Kit's brown work boots.

It looks good with Kit's work boots or Kirsten's black boots.

Another great outfit for Molly! This outfit was purchased by my BFF in the sale right before it retired a few years ago, it sat on her closet shelf for a few years, then she gave it to my dd for Christmas when she started collecting for Molly. We love almost everything about this outfit. The jacket fits very nicely, I am extremely pleased with it. The scarf is the perfect length to tie. I love the little hat (although the chin strap seems a little long - something we can live with). The khaki pants are adorable, the perfect size/color/style for Molly. My only wish for this outfit, is that I wish it came with a shirt to go under the jacket - Molly is a little chilly under there. We do not own Molly's brown oxfords, which would match this outfit perfectly. Overall we give this outfit an A! It would have got the + if there would have been a shirt to go under it. D~

Putting in a plug for Josefina's riding boots with Molly's aviator outfit. Not historically correct I know, but I think they look great with it!

This is one of my Molly's favorite outfits, and mine too. I like how realistic the outfit is, especially the Fifinella WASP logo on the jacket.
The outfit, along with the short story has meaning to me because one of my grandfathers was in the USAAF in WWII.
I really wish AG would bring this back.

Found this one on eBay in its entirety except for the scarf. I love it, and so does Molly. The twill pants fit my plump PM Molly very well (better than her tight After-School corduroys), even with the long white shirt from the 1995 meet outfit tucked in. The jacket and cap look absolutely real, from the realistic leather to the Fifinella patch.
Yes, it does lack a shirt and shoes. My Molly is wearing the penny loafers that came with the Girl Scout Uniform right now. This might work with her white School Jumper or the shirt that comes under her Camp Uniform, too.
Recommended for the jacket and pants alone for air-crazy Kit, military Molly, and modern dolls with military backgrounds.

I was lucky to get the Aviator Jacket and Cap as part of a mixed lot of boy clothes, after wanting it since its release, and it is fantastic! It fits my PM Molly (given to me around '94) perfectly, and I am absolutely delighted with the quality. The quilted lining, faux leather and tiny WASP patch are top-notch. Molly wears this with the black AGoT Doc Marten's boots and her Camp shirt underneath the jacket. EDIT 13/02/2024: I finally bought the khakis, and they are also fantastic quality. I love it fabric, and they fit perfectly. My rating: A+ for the whole outfit!
