*Mod note: This outfit was rereleased in 2023 as part of Isabel Hoffman's historical collection. This is an amazing outfit! one of a kind and hard to find! This outfit is from the millennium and was only available at that time. It came with a tank top, jacket, skirt, tights, and divine shoes that laced up the legs! AG has never made an outfit with shoes like that yet! My vote:A+++++++++

Well. I have this outfit. I've yet to decide if I like it and want to keep it. Maybe if I write a review, I'll figure things out. This outfit was put out to mark the Millennium transition. It came in a special silver hologram box, which is one of the few boxes I've ever saved because, uhm, I guess I was supposed to? It was special, after all. The outfit is all about glitter and glitz. It consists of a camisole with matching cardigan to make a twin set; a shiny lavender skirt that matches the trim on the twin set; really thick, glittery tights to match the twin set; and lace-up platform sandals in a complimentary purple shade with "wooden" soles. So, I think the twin set fabric is icky. It's scratchy, that's what it is, and I'm all about the texture of things even on dolls. I do like that the cardigan has tie closure, mainly because I don't like seeing the cut of the cami underneath. The skirt is soft and flouncy and pretty, so that's good. But the tights, OMG, they are so bad I can't even tell you. Do not want, do not use. They are just too thick and heavy for this outfit, despite the attempt to match with the multi-purple of the twin set. The shoes are interesting and cute, but they look dumb with the overpowering thick tights. It's also impossible to get the ribbons of the shoes to wrap around the doll ankles twice and tie, with those thick tights underneath, and a one-time wrap doesn't seem sufficient. Special box is special: Odd cut to camisole: Tights of tack: Gratuitous extra photo includes accessory purse, sold separately: I guess overall, I pretty much don't like it. Figure that out yet? Honestly, I think the festive twin set is something you'd find in the Misses department and it is not a flattering look for a little girl. I am grading this outfit a C for the strange, mismatched combination of textures. I also cannot imagine a child being able to finagle these shoes. And, it's not exactly a versatile outfit that could be mixed and matched, except maybe with black. So I think AG missed the mark on creating a really stunning and memorable Millennium Outfit, and instead we got this. It's not an outfit that comes up all that often on the secondary market, probably since it was only available for a comparatively short period of time.
