"Saige wears this taffeta dress to celebrate her birthday! It has a gold-foil sparkle design trailing across the front, and a crisscross sash to accent the full skirt. Includes western boots and a cactus-flower necklace for extra shine" Listed for $30
DD picked this up for her future Saige doll at the debut of Saige in the DC store. Her Cécile is modeling it for us today.
Material is not cotton, but it is a nice nylon/windbreaker material.
The ribbon belt goes all the way around the back. Notice also the asymmetrical shoulder straps. Her left strap is like a spaghetti strap and the right one is like a tank top.
A little blurry (sorry, my camera doesn't do close-ups well). Trying to show the gold dots. They look like those 3-D metal dots that are on clothing, but are printed onto the material.
The skirt is lined and the bottom of the inner skirt has a ruffle of tulle to give the skirt some body. Nice touch!
Gold pimp, er, I mean cowboy boots. These are nicer that I would have thought. Velcro up the back for easy on/off. DD couldn't get them on with Cécile's meet socks at all, too tight. There is a flower just like the one on her necklace stamped on the outsides of the boots. I do wish that flower had had some color applied like the boots in her Parade outfit (if we are going to wear dude boots, might as well highlight the fact we are a dude).
Close-up of her necklace. I didn't know what kind of flower this was until I actually read the description as I typed it in here. I guess the cactus flower is her "symbol".
All in all a cute set. Don't know about wearing it to ride in a balloon in, would be cold, but it is a nice outfit.

Melangell gave a great review, so I will post pictures of the dress with Saige wearing it. :-) I would say my own concern is the material the dress is made out of. I would say be careful with heavy play as the material looks like it would "pull" easily if snagged on something. Boots are awesome. I love the deep raspberry color of the dress, it really suites Saige! Price seemed average to me, so I give this one an "A" as well.
First few pictures were taken in natural light, the last three with a flash:
My DD has this outfit and bought it for her future Saige (she is saving up for her). She mostly has had it on Cécile.
This picture is posted in the review section. I think the dress looks great on dark skinned dolls. It really pops.
I think the lining on the dress is nice as is the little bit of tulle on the bottom to puff out the skirt. The necklace is one of their nicer necklaces. The boots are killer. As much as I hate this color of boot for Cécile and MG, I love it with this dress!

I like this dress quite a bit, although I'm not sure the color is right for Saige. The band around the middle goes all the way around the back which is a plus. There is also a bit of tulle around the bottom of the lining layer which is a nice touch. The boots are realy cute, I like that they're low cut which makes them different from all the other AG cowboy boots. The necklace is pretty and will look good with many other outfits. Overall this is a great outfit, a solid A.

I purchased this outfit primarily to obtain the golden boots (boy, are they outlandishly fabulous). I find the dress itself to be a tad strange, but I do like the shimmery effect when the gold flecks hit the light. Bonus points for the lining. The necklace has a nice weight and it seems like the chain has been shortened from earlier versions so that it falls higher on the torso (which I prefer). The cactus flower on the pendant is also embossed on the boots; nice touch.

I can't believe I bought this dress, as my first impression of it was not good at all. I could not believe that AG was even contemplating it. I first saw it as a sneak peek from a gray market site, and I would have bet money that it wasn't going to be a an AG piece.
And now I've bought the danged thing.
The dress can look very pretty if positioned properly on a doll, but it does expose what I feel are the weak parts of AG doll construction. With the wrinkles carefully smoothed out, and a doll decked out for a party, it looks very nice. The bright pink is so nice with so many dolls. I don't have a Saige, but all of the dolls seem to be great candidateds for the dress. With a stole, or short jacket, it makes a luscious special occasion dress. I felt I had to get it as a reflection of what's hot with the young girls in 2013 because this dress is selling well. That it's lines is nice and though I don't like the way the darker sash sits, not on the waist line, it can look very nice on a doll. But if it's not on smooth and set just right, it really looks terrible. It's a dress that has to be positioned just right to look good.
The boots. Not my style, but a change from those pumps, I guess. I 'm giving them to my niece who will be thrilled to have them. Not the style of any of my dolls. The necklace is very nice, and I like it a lot but not with the dress. I'll get a sparkly gold or clear glass necklace that I think will look a lot better than this plain silver piece, but I'm glad to get have it.
I thought $30 was a little high for this price wise, and I would not have bought it had it been in the MyAG line at this price, but waited for it to go on sale. Being a GOTY item, I didn't think the odds were good I'd get it this way, so I coughed up the full price on it.
I give the dress a B. Not my personal taste, don't like the boots, necklace is not so great but a nice piece to have, the dress is not that great on its own merits, but it is something very different and I like that AG does go that way and also, the ones who count, the little girls seem to like it just fine.
I wanted to post some pictures I took of the dress and some details and give a brief overview of my thoughts. But ya, check out my blog if you'd like. I have a bit more on my thoughts and an extra picture (I didn't want to clog up my post on the review thread any further lol) 18inchStitch.blogspot.com
AG also decided to add a layer with some tulle under the main dress and it was a very good choice. the under layer helps give the overall look of the dress a better fullness and helps it hold its intended shape.
The fabric is a very rich hot pink with deeper pink ribbons criss-crossing over the waist and around to the back closure and shiny gold dots spread across the front that look like iron-on appliqués. The main color of the dress reminds me of AG's main color they use on packaging and such.
The boots are nice, shiny gold color that matches the dots with mini heels and velcro closures in the back. They feel well made and sturdy. Also, they have Saige's signature flower design embossed/ tooled/ engraved into the outer facing sides of the boots.
The necklace is very cute. I'm surprised AG made the necklace silver vs gold since the rest of the outfit has gold accents but I don't care. I think it looks good together, is a nice simple design featuring an oval with Saige's signature flower design engraved on it.
