This set was introduced in August 2014 and retired in 2017.
Rebecca dreams of becoming an actress someday. Authentic to 1914, this moviemaking set includes: A director’s chair with a canvas seat and a big gold star A megaphone with “DIRECTOR” printed on the side A focus board to write the details of a scene before the actors begin, with a cloth to erase it Pages from the script for Rebecca’s movie, based on actual scripts from the era A mini replica of a real 1914 movie poster from "The Perils of Pauline", a hit film that Rebecca wants to see A mini movie magazine modeled on those from Rebecca’s day Title cards, which were used before movies had sound so audiences could read the dialogue on-screen Movie tickets that Rebecca keeps as mementos of films she’s seenThis review is by sarahangeline We love Rebecca's Director Set! We received the directors set and my family and I are all enjoying it so much! If you are interested in the theme it's a very detailed set to have. I was surprised how well made the chair actually is since it's plastic. It's not flimsy at all! I could see charging $75 for this set if it was wooden but I felt $37 on daily deals was worth it. It has thick quality canvas and the gold star decal is stunning! I'm enjoying the papers immensely and reading the script, magazine, and cue cards are so much fun! There's even tickets and a movie poster! The chalkboard and megaphone are both durable and quite fun especially for the kids!

A kind board member purchased this kitten for me as I have no Sam's Club in my area. My doll, Pearl, immediately claimed her and named her Opal! The collar/leash sets that fit the new style AG pets also fit this kitten. I think it's really cute, but wish it had whiskers!

I actually like that this a shiny satiny fabric- it fits with my experiences of regalia. I am disappointed that there are not more jingles and I do like the addition of the vest. The hair adornments are a nice touch.

I purchased this set several weeks ago but didn't get a chance to write a review. I think it's a great set! I didn't put together the little house yet, but the food bowls are quite nice. I was impressed with the quality of the book- it has a lot of fun crafts and ideas.
The dog is well-made. My one reservation is that the snout is very broad and looks odd without the magnet attached. I did buy the jeweled pet collar for the Pom and it fits very well.
Grade: A- due to strange snout!

I'm so glad these glasses finally came off of backorder! The shape is very modern, but the arms are still pretty delicate. The hinges are also plastic, but they are nice and tight. One arm is stamped with Made in China and the other with American Girl. They fit nicely on both a Jess and #4 mold. Grade: A

The turquoise glasses are one of the better pairs of glasses. I have only tried them on the Jess mold, as pictured below, but they stay on well and look straight, for the most part. The stripy tortie effect is a bit odd, but overall, they are nicely made and look rather fetching! Grade: A Ksenia in the Turquoise Glasses by Colette Denali, on Flickr

Studio

Post by green chile supergirl on Jan 10, 2014 18:46:40 GMT -5
I purchased the studio at AGPNY on January 9. Fittingly, it was Coral's (my dancing doll) birthday! The box is quite large so I borrowed a friend's hand cart to bring it home via subway. I would not recommend this method- had I the option, I would have used a car! Isabelle's Studio by Colette Denali, on Flickr Here's the full studio. It's not that big, considering. It's only slightly taller than a doll and about as wide as two dolls. Isabelle's Studio: dress form by Colette Denali, on Flickr The dress form is covered in cloth, but underneath it is plastic, so unfortunately you cannot stick pins in it. Isabelle's Studio: tuffet by Colette Denali, on Flickr The tuffet is cute- It's a good height for a doll to sit at the table part of the studio, but the cover slides off fairly easily. Isabelle's Studio: scissors by Colette Denali, on Flickr The little accessories are the best part! I love this wee pair of scissors that actually open and close. Isabelle's Studio: pin cushion by Colette Denali, on Flickr The pin cushion has an obnoxiously long tag. Isabelle's Studio: measuring tape and thread by Colette Denali, on Flickr Measuring tape & three spools of thread. I think the thread can go on the sewing machine, but I'm not entirely sure. Isabelle's Studio: sketchbook by Colette Denali, on Flickr The sketch book is really cute. It has two pages with designs and the rest have the body outline so you can design more outfits. Isabelle's Studio: performance outfit sketch by Colette Denali, on Flickr Here is one design. Isabelle's Studio: sketch by Colette Denali, on Flickr Here is another. Isabelle's Studio: basket by Colette Denali, on Flickr Here is the basket- it's cute, but I wish it weren't molded plastic. It looks kind of cheap to me. Isabelle's Studio: sewing machine by Colette Denali, on Flickr I wish the sewing machine were white, but otherwise it's really cute! The foot rides up and down when you turn it on, which is kind of weird, but I can see why they did it that way. Isabelle's Studio: hat box by Colette Denali, on Flickr Hat box. I really like this! Isabelle's Studio: closed armoire by Colette Denali, on Flickr This is the trunk with the doors shut. The mirrors look that way because I haven't peeled off the protective film yet. The Hart Dance Company logo looks permanent, but perhaps when I peel off the film it will prove to be removable. Overall, it's a great set. I'm planning to use it in my doll's bedroom. I love all the little pieces and the armoire itself looks really nice. I'm glad AG went with white and not pink or purple as with much of the rest of Isabelle's collection.

Fresh & Fun EarringsItem# F5361 These earrings were made to mix and match! Includes three sets of pierced studs, plus three pairs of funky dangles that attach to the posts for lots of fun looks.Flower studs with star hoop dangles. Rhinestone stud with purple butterfly dangles. Red rhinestone stud with red heart dangle. These are all very cute, but the butterfly dangle is less than impressive. Quality is good! Grade: A-

Fancy EarringsItem# F5375 These earrings are party-perfect! Includes three sets of pierced studs, plus three pairs of fancy dangles that attach to the posts for mix-and-match looks.Blue earrings with blue dangles. Gold studs with gold "comb" dangles. Silver studs with white heart dangles. These earrings are very nice. My only reservation is that the thread holding the heart and blue dangles does not look very sturdy. I recommend being gentle with the dangles. Grade: A

Plaid Party Dress: Item# F3615 My American Girl® dolls will look party-perfect in this pretty plaid dress!
It features:
A sleeveless plaid dress with a gathered sash at the waist, button details, and a ruffle on the bodice Sandals with a bow accent, plus an elastic strap to keep them in place A plastic diamond-shaped barrette for her hair Includes a "Confident" heart charm for the doll's charm-keeper necklace.I bought this outfit for my doll Coral and it's really lovely! The dress is really spring-like and the shoes are adorable. The fabric is nice and smooth, not too stiff at all. I found that the shoes fit very well. There is a strap in the back to keep them on that does its job. The shoes are a navy purplish color. My only real frustration with the dress is the sash. It's not separate from the dress, though it looks like it in the front, where it runs through belt loops. In the back, it is stitched down for ease of dressing. I can understand why AG chose to do it that way, but it would be nice to have a separate sash. What surprised me most about the dress is the trim- it looks like ric rack in the online photos, but is really very nice crocheted trim! Overall, I really like this dress and I'm very glad to have purchased it. Grade: A

This outfit is just lovely. It's nice to have a break from the usual red dresses AG's had for the last several years. The bodice is fitted nicely and the tights are high quality. The headband has a huge tag on it that necessitates scissors, but otherwise looks fine. If you don't push it far enough back on the doll's head, you can get a bit of a gap between the head and the headband (which looks silly). The shoes are okay, but they don't quite match the dress and they're not particularly stylish. Grade: A-

This fall, the PWP is a pink fair isle cardigan sweater. It's $16 with a $50 purchase. It is well-made, with working buttonholes- no velcro to snag here! The buttonholes are a bit snug on the buttons, but I like that because then the buttons don't slip out during wear. The sweater also has a little American Girl tag on the wrist, pictured below. Grade: A

This is indeed an odd shirt. I was prepared for the raw edges on the sleeves, but not the weird ruching. I knew it would have the ruching, but I was not ready for how uneven the shirt looks with said feature. Grade: B-
