Is it just me or is the Western Riding Outfit really impractical for riding an actual horse?
I was made aware of this outfit's existence in that thread where we were all loving/hating on various current MyAG clothes, and it's cute, but I am concerned about accuracy. Every time I have ever gone horseback riding, they have made me wear long pants and boots and a helmet, and totally would not have let me on a horse if I showed up wearing something Western-Riding-Outfit-esque.
So what I want to know: did I just happen to always go horseback-riding with a bunch of litigation-conscious worrywarts? Can one actually go riding in the Western Riding Outfit with no problems? I need advice from people who have actually ridden a horse more than, like, four times in their entire life.

I've got a pair of these, and I'm a bit ambivalent about recommending them. On one hand, they are the most adorable boots ever, and they can work for a lot of different eras--they look great on modern dolls as well as with the mid-nineteenth century types.
On the other hand, they CANNOT be worn without dark stockings, because the black laces will stain the doll's legs or white socks if they are worn for any length of time. Also, they are pretty hard to get on. I can get them on all my dolls' feet--the ancient PC ones as well as the new Mattels--but quite a bit of squishing and tugging is needed to get them on properly.
So, in summary: Judging purely on looks: A Practically speaking: C+
