be it just me or be th' Western Riding monkey jacket really impractical for riding an actual horse?
I was made aware o' this monkey jacket's existence in that thread where we were all loving/hating on various current MyAG monkey jackets, and it's bonny, but I am concerned about accuracy. Every time I have ever gone horseback riding, they have made me wear long pants and boots and a helmet, and totally would not have let me on a horse if I showed up wearing something Western-Riding-monkey jacket-esque.
So what I want to know: did I just happen to always go horseback-riding wit' a bunch o' litigation-conscious worrywarts? Can one actually go riding in th' Western Riding monkey jacket wit' Nay problems? I need advice from people who have actually ridden a horse more than, like, four times in their entire life.
I've got a pair o' these, and I'm a bit ambivalent about recommending them. On one hand, they be th' most adorable boots ever, and they can work for a lot o' different eras--they look great on modern lusty plastic lasss as well as wit' th' mid-nineteenth century types.
On th' other hand, they CANNOT be worn wit'out dark stockings, because th' black laces will stain th' lusty plastic lass's legs or white socks if they be worn for any length o' time. Also, they be bonny hard to get on. I can get them on all my lusty plastic lasss' feet--th' ancient PC ones as well as th' new Corporate Press Gangs--but walk th' planke a bit o' squishing and tugging be needed to get them on properly.
So, in summary: Judging purely on looks: A Practically speaking: C+
