Does anyone know whether Bitty Bear was originally made by another company, like how Gotz created the original molds for AG? I'm looking for other toys like it that aren't the expensive Bitty Bunch, but have no idea where to search.

I want to add that I picked up a doll still in its box that came with this card. It appears that some dolls came with this, which offers a free pair of flats for those dolls that came with Mary Janes. It seems that AG was well aware of the staining issue and packaged dolls with the plastic Mary Janes as a result- they promise free flats after February 1, 1996. I wonder if that ever happened or if the company completely nixed the idea. Yes, that did actually happen. I filled out that card when I was a kid, sent it, and did in fact receive a pair of black suede flats, which my original GT13 still has to this day. I also have the original shoes which, as long as you don't leave them on or near warm surfaces, are fine. The problem was that the plastic had a bad tendency to melt, which could leave stains. That happened with a few of the early items, including one of Kirsten's fish, which distressingly melted itself onto a doll-sized clothes hanger. Fortunately, the shoes were kept cool enough that they've remained in one piece.

Details... Looks like this one has a different fabric from the review above. It seems that's because the one in the previous review is actually the 1999-2001 set of school supplies, which appears not to have its own page. Your set is definitely the earlier one - I have the same set and got it in 1995 or early 1996 for my GT13. I don't have pictures right now, but the parts I didn't lose as a child have held up very well. That includes the binder, report card, notebook, and math book. This is one of my favorite early sets, and I highly recommend it!

Wow, I didn't even notice the buckle was a wreath until I saw the close-ups in this thread. It doesn't bother me too much, but it wouldn't be something Rebecca would have worn, that's for certain!

Hey all! This is my first ever doll review, so mods, please correct me if I'm doing something wrong! I got the Bitty Lambie PJ's around January 2015, so I can't say if there have been any changes since the original release, but I think it's the same one. First thoughts: oh goodness, is it adorable! This set is tremendously cute, and I think the colors would suit any Bitty Baby, although I think it might look better with dark-haired and dark-skinned dolls because the colors are so pale. Lambie Pajamas by Erica C, on Flickr The dress and leggings are easy enough to put on, and the leggings especially look like they have some mix and match potential with other pastel-colored outfits. Sheep Close-Up by Erica C, on Flickr Close-up, you can see the sheep on the blouse. They're more realistic than I'd imagined when I ordered the outfit, but still very cute. And the pink ruffles in front really help! A+ for these two parts of the outfit. And then we come to the feet. I'm not sure if it's because my Bitty is from 1995 and has big feet, or whether this is a general problem, but those slippers just refused to stay on her feet! Eventually, I figured out that the tag inside the slippers was preventing the toes from going all the way in, so I had to wedge one finger in to move the tag, while simultaneously using the other hand and the back end of a fork to wriggle the foot in! It took about half an hour, but I finally managed it. Whew! Once on, the sheep are adorable. They sort of make the feet look non-existent and flat, but that's okay because sheep on feet = max cuteness. So I didn't mind too much in the end once they were on her feet. Overall, I'd give the outfit a B+/A-. The blouse and leggings are really cute, and so are the slippers, but that's an awful lot of effort for one outfit, and it's not inexpensive at $26 for three pieces. If the slippers were a little less annoying and a little more versatile (pink or white fluffy slippers reminiscent of sheep but that could match with other things), it would be a solid A+. Still, if you've got a Bitty in need of a cute outfit, or some adorable sheep, this is a great pick.
