Winter Fun Scene (2013-2015)

I bought this yesterday at the St. Louis store. This is a very nice and sturdy piece of cardboard, without weighing too much, and stands up very well, meaning upright. I am an adult, so don't know how kids would do with it, but I think it would be OK. It can be for any doll, historical or modern, which ads to the appeal. The photography is really nice, mountains in the background, a small snowman, pine trees, a curved bridge and a few trees, but nothing that clutters up the scene. That is one thing to consider, if you have more than a few dolls and toys to place in front. The other scenes are a bit too cluttered to me, and the more things you use, the less of the scene you see.

The dimensions are 39 inches long and 24 inches high.

On the back it gives you instructions for downloading sound from the American Girl App, but I have not done that.

One surprising thing I read on the back was "Made in the USA"!!!! How about that?

I got this for my birthday this weekend and wanted to get up some pictures for all y'all at AGPT.
First of all I wanted to post a picture of the dent my backdrop got during shipping. I think most of the other members bought theirs at a store, but mine came mailed in a big cardboard folder (which I am also going to keep for storage). Because the folder got folded and kind of dented, so did the backdrop inside. Fortunately it is not that big a problem for me, but I think I might email AG to let them know about the issue - it is something to be aware of.

As for the actual scene, I got mine for Caroline because this one in particular didn't really have any markers that indicated it was modern. It has a nice brick bridge, a small rabbit, some pine trees, mountains, and a snowman. I was surprised by the quality of the image, it was good, but a little blurrier than I expected - like it had been blown up. I don't mind the way that the scene looks "staged", but I'll admit it doesn't look exactly realistic behind the doll simply due to scale. Still though, it really adds a lot to a display scene.

And this bad boy is BIG! I knew the measurements but couldn't really put it in perspective until I had a doll in front of it. I think I could sit in front of it and you could snap a photo so I looked like I was in a winter wonderland, haha.



Anyway, I would overall give this item a B.
