Please note that my set is almost entirely incomplete. It was a gift from a friend who got it as a handmedown from her sister, the original owner.
I have the crutches and cast only.
Cast: Adorable! It has a felt-like white lining, and swings open in the front. It is kind of loose on my Mattel dolls' feet, even with socks on. It is signed by several purpoted 'friends of your doll'--the names include both Elizabeth and Emily (British BFFs? Weird.) Still, they have different handwritings and doodles so that it looks fairly realisitic and very cute.
It swings open and snaps shut. It is a little hard to stand a doll up in unless she has a thicksoled shoe on the other foot.
Crutches: I'm not sure what material they are but they are fairly heavy. It's pretty hard to prop up a doll when she's wearing them unless she's leaning on something, but if you are using them for play they are awesome. Mine have slight discolouring on the rubber bits; I haven't tried to clean it yet.
The set description from AGPT main site: Après-Ski Gear
If your American Girl hits the slopes too hard, come to her rescue with a cast and crutches. Keep her entertained with a fun spinning toy, paper doll, and tic-tac-toe game. Since she can’t get up easily, keep her drink carrier handy for that cocoa!

This set is wonderful! Every piece of it is well made and realistic. The above reviews were great so I won't blather on much. But here's a few pics: The crutches, as KitandKat said, are realistic and it is possible to have your doll "use" them. The cast is adorable. It fits really well, and it stands up to play. It also looks pretty realistic. I like the signatures a lot as well... I laugh at Elizabeth and Emily being on there. The toys are awesome. I My girls play with them all the time. The thermos is great and realistic as well. Like KitandKat said, it does have two lids like a real thermos. I love the paper dolls. I'm missing one of the outfits and the booklet, but I love what I have. Wendy likes to play with them. The discs for the spinning toy are nice and colorful, and it all comes in a handy envelope.
