Yoga Gear + Book (2009-2012)

Well--I received this package yesterday--but wasn't around until about 10 or so at night to open it, and thus no real pics.

This is what I would a perfect "code" outfit. I am not crazy about paying $30 (full price for it) but it does make the transition nicely into $20 after the 10 dollar off 30 codes. So, honestly--I'd rather it be $30 then $28.

The fun stuff: The book it comes with talks about yoga for girls--which is really interesting, because where I live, lots of little kids-boys and girls are taking yoga. (They have child yoga classess at Y). They give hints on what to wear, and they said that shoes aren't required for it. (which I guess is why they added no shoes to this). The book also states to wear loose fitting clothing--and give about 5 different poses girls can do. (with actual photos of girls doing them correctly--so you can see what they look like). They talk in the book about breathing as well. I think this book is a great introduction for a girl (or boy!) who is interested in yoga. It is very beginnerish--so it is easy to understand.

I really enjoy the outfit. First off, because the book stated to wear loose clothes, the items in this outfit, are not tight at all. I don't think this will have a problem fitting on the chubbier PM dolls. It consists of a tank top of dark purple, with a design at the bottom, a lavenderish sweat jacket--with a zipper up the front and deep purple embroidered (real--no pseudo embroidered like Kirsten) flowers on the sides and a deep, deep, purple yoga pants, which are loose on the legs. They look a lot like mine--except that mine are black.

I can easily see using this pieces with mix 'n match potentional--even the tops with jeans. The only thing that has velcro on it is the tank top. I do wish they included a bag for the yoga mat but oh well.

The missing of a bag for a yoga mat and no shoes are the biggest offenders in this outfit. Still--because the price is $30-I will rate it at an A (because 24 w/shipping seems much more reasonable when you include it with those minor lacking details) However, if it was $28 dollars--and did not fit into the code so nicely, I would have rated it a B.

Moral of the story: If you want this outfit--get it while the Chrissa code is still good!

The design on the tank, is it a sticker or is it embroidered?

Oh great, now I need to get those purple tennis shoes! LOL

The tank design is stickered---not like the flowers on the jacket, which are embroidered.

I have to agree with starearedkid: this is an outfit made for sales. 30 bucks for an outfit that doesn't come with shoes grates on me just a tad, but I'm a sucker for athletic gear for dolls so I tossed it in with my last order.

I'm finding it personally hard to mix and match these items. There's not much else you can pair the purple yoga pants with. The tank goes okay with jeans and other neutral bottoms, but it looks a bit baggy on its own - in fact, I'd recommend it for folks with PM girls because it'll fit chubbier dolls just fine. It's loose on Darcy here.

My favorite piece is the sweater. I love that the flowers are embroidered and it's going to be an incredibly versatile piece, which kind of makes up for the dullness of the other two bits.

I'll give it a B overall. This really should come with the purple tennies already grouped in, considering the price tag.

You could mix and match this with the retired Kickin Back outfit. The tank to KB is blue and purple while the capris are white with purple thread. Any of the AGP purple tshirts would be nice for wear with the darker purple pants. I do agree it's pretty expensive for the lack of shoes. I am guessing they felt the mat was sufficient and you do yoga barefoot anyhow.

I've heard mixed opinions about this outfit. I think it's exquisite. it's sporty, but looks so sophisticated! The tank top is a lovely dark magenta-purple, with a pretty design on it. The design is printed, but it's not stickery looking at all. The pants are dark purple, cute and fit well. The waistband is nicely detailed, and the AG logo on the leg matches the tank. It's very discreet though. The jacket is beautiful! It's a lovely, clear shade of lavendar with unique embroidery. The emdroidery is very well done, and look so nice. The yoga mat matches the jacket with the same design. It's nice, but if you happen to leave something on top of it (like dolls wearing pointy boots ) it dents the mat up. The dents seem to have filled back in with no problem. The book, I like. It's one of the few useful JLY books, and seems educational to kids. I bought the sporty sneakers to go with this outfit, and they finish the look so well! One thing I would change is that I wish the outfit came with a nice purple headband to hold the doll's hair back. This is my new favorite doll outfit! A+

With the Chrissa code, I was able to get this outfit to be Sophie's traveling outfit--which, if you ask me, is better than using it for yoga. I don't exactly practice yoga in clothes like this, but it is an adorable outfit despite what you do with it.

The shirt is your average magenta-colored tank with stripey decals close to the hem. It's stretchy and reminiscent of Marisol's pink tank top.

The gauchos are royal purple and reminiscent of the AGP black gauchos.

The sweater is the cutest thing. It's lavender, zips, and has the cutest floral embroidery--it's got to be my favorite part of the outfit.

The ensemble comes with a floral-printed yoga mat--which is just a piece of foam. It's a cute addition and makes for a cute doll rug when your doll isn't doing yoga. It also comes with a book of yoga moves girls can try.

I use plain white AGT sneakers with this outfit, although I do wish it came with its own shoes. I have found that Marisol's crocheted hat looks adorable with the set as well.

Grade: B+

Just got this outfit and really like it. The jacket and tank are nicely fitted and have cute designs (embroidered on the jacket and printed on the tank.) These are great versatile pieces that pair well with other pants or layer with other tops; you wouldn't have to just use it for yoga.

The pants are less versatile, but they're cute and suitable for the activity. The one odd thing about them is they're cut rather wide in the waistband; they fit my Pre-Mattel dolls great, but are loose on my Mattel girls. The fitted shirt and jacket hide that so it still works.

For me it wasn't a problem that the outfit doesn't come with shoes, because I don't wear shoes when I do yoga. It does come with the mat as an accessory, so I think it evens out in value with other sets.

A minor realism quibble is the mat. I wish it was pebble-textured like my real yoga mat so it would stay put on the floor better. The printed design on is also rather busy and attention-drawing for a yoga mat, but the bottom side is plain so if this bothers you, you can flip it over.

I recommend this outfit. It's well made for the most part, is suitable for yoga, and has mix and match potential.

I'd rate it as a solid A or A-, although some minor grips keep it out of A+ territory for me unfortunately.
