B-:
I really liked AG’s stock photos of this outfit when it was released in fall of 2009. It reminded me of one of my holiday favorites, the 2004 Silver Bells outfit. However, this outfit isn’t nearly as nice as its predecessor. I doubt that it’ll see as much use as some of our other Bitty holiday wear.
The set contains: a white dress, beret, tights, boots, and a coloring book.
Dress: The white velour dress has faux fur trim and embroidered snowflakes. While the style is cute and somewhat trendy, there are some elements that don’t particularly like. For one, I question how practical a white outfit is for a doll that’s designed for younger children. I originally thought that I could overlook the color, but it’s already showing a tiny bit of play wear after only a month. Also, the snowflakes are a bit large for the 15” and 18” dolls.
The dress does fit the Bitty dolls quite nicely. However, on its own, the dress is too short for the 18”ers. It does look alright with leggings (in place of the tights).
Beret: The beret nicely coordinates with the dress and has a matching too-large snowflake. However, it’s a bit smaller than most Bitty berets and doesn’t cover completely Bitty’s hair overly well.
Tights: The tights are probably my favorite part of the set. They not only look cute with this outfit, but they also look nice paired with skirts.
Boots: As far as Bitty shoes go, these aren’t bad. While they don’t have soles, they’re super soft and look like something a real baby would wear. Unfortunately, they are a bit challenging for children to put on the Bitty dolls and virtually impossible to get on the 18” dolls.
Coloring Book: The book is a typical Bitty Baby coloring book. They tend to see little to no use here.
