Here's Madelaine (AGoT 9) modeling the first modern doll sleepwear that ever came out.
The fabric for the doll nightgown is red fleece - the outer bit is nice and cottony but the inner side is extremely soft red fleece. I took a picture of this but it came out blurry, sorry.
The only openings/closures for the outfit are the snaps on the front. As such, it's extremely difficult to shimmy it up her legs like I do with most doll dresses. Instead you generally have to raise the doll's hands up in the air and pull it over her head, as if you were dressing a small child.
I like the fit, for the most part. The sleeves are nice and long, which I love, but I do wish it were a bit longer. As you can see, it only just hits her knees. I dunno about you but if I'm wearing fleece, it's because I'm cold. In my opinion it should go down to her ankles or so. I've tried compensating by putting her in the fleece robe, but the magenta pink and bright red do not a happy mix make.
The headband is the same cottony material as the outside of the nightgown - no fleece on it at all. I can never get it to wrap as nicely on the headband the bear has.
Finally, the nightgown on the bear is of a similar construction - cottony on the front, fleece on the inside. Her headband is made out of the same fabric. The bear nightgown has a single snap on the back instead of any on the front. The whole outfit is removable from the bear. Took a picture of this, but again, it turned out fuzzy.
Overall I'd give it a B+. It's got great fabric construction, but it's also very simple and I wish it were longer and slightly easier to get on the doll. I bought mine when it was first released - there's one on eBay right now for around $20 and I think it'd be worth the price if you love doll jammies as much as I do.
